Penny Barn is a wonderfully converted barn that comfortably housed eight of my family for a week, near North Hill, Launceston. The set up of the barn was perfect for us, four bedrooms (one with en suite), a large kitchen / dining area and separate spacious living room filled with board games and books to enjoy. There is even a separate games room with table football and darts in case you get caught out by the rain or fancy competing against family members for the ultimate trophy: pride!
The barn itself is situated beautifully atop one of the may hills in the area and the view from the garden (where you can enjoy your breakfast outside on a warm morning) is stunning. Rolling fields with cows and sheep to one side and Twelve Men's Tor on the other - the latter being a great climb to capture an amazing 360 degree view of the area.
Mr & Mrs Webb provided excellent recommendations for local walks, pubs, shops and other entertainment ideas and we felt very much at home during our stay, with friendly neighbours either side to welcome you and offer advice or support (such as fire wood).
The tranquil experience has led to each of my family demanding a return next year, which is a true testament for how great this barn is to stay in!
