Great stay with family at Villa Vernazza

The house and grounds are beautiful! Especially the patio with the lovely view of the mountains and sea!! I would have liked the home to be more carefully cleaned. The owners were very responsive to our questions. The pool was really nice and the location was great for all our activities. Lots of places to eat and shop nearby.

Excellent!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the villa. Giuseppe and Pia were wonderful hosts and the concierge Kalifa was a bonus we were not expecting. Would stay again!

Perfect Stay

Our stay was great! We had unforgettable multi-generational holidays with dogs. Big thanks to Pia and Giuseppe. The private chef was also excellent! We'll definitely come back.

Great private Villa with amazing long-range views of Tuscany!

We spent a week in late May in this beautiful Villa. We really enjoyed the amazing views of the valley, surrounding mountains and the sea! The villa is very private with no close neighbors, a wonderful private pool, garden, fresh herbs and an olive grove. Giuseppe was a wonderful host who gave us great recommendations for excursions, shopping and dining.

Excellent

Very nice situated villa with wounderful view- friendly and service minded owners. The pool is clean but this part of the property needs some upgrading to get a full 5 stars score.

Wonderful experience!

This villa has amazing views from the patio and master bedroom. The villa had ample space for our 10 guests. Pia and Franco were so helpful and quickly responded when needed! They planned a private boat tour with Isabella and a cooking class with chef Antoinette in our villa. Both were highlights of our trip! Would definitely recommend this villa!

Wonderful Vacation

We enjoyed a week's vacation at this beautiful villa. Our group included four couples and one teenager. The villa as very comfortable and the pool was delightful. We cooked most of our meals at the villa and enjoyed the outside terrace and the beautiful view of the valley in the evening. Pia and Franco were great and very responsive. Pia organized a typical Italian dinner for us one evening and met our need that everything be lactose free. When we return Liguria, we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful villa but poor reception and check in

villa is very nice but check in and reception was lacking. there was a strong odour of smoke. We didn't actually have any contact with hosts until we were leaving.

Amazing Italy Vacation

The Villa was everything that we expected. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room to relax. The view from the Veranda is amazing. Check in process was easy, Giuseppe and Pia greeted us upon arrival and departure . They walked us through the Villa amenities, were responsive with our inquiries, helped with dinner reservations and dinner recommendations, thank you. When you are initially looking for the Villa, while on Provinciale, you will want to turn at the white House with cactus plants and follow the winding short road the the Villa gates. Overall we had a great time at the Villa and recommend staying there.

Amazing Villa above the Beach

We just had our family reunion at Giuseppe’s villa. It was amazing and the house worked very well for my dad (81) to my youngest daughter (5). The clean pool kept the kids entertained while the adults had a drink on the many decks. The location is great with good takeout food and local markets within 5min driving distance and the beach 15min away. There also is a nice historic castle and village right above the villa. Giuseppe was very helpful and replied to my many questions within 5mins. We loved it.

A stunning villa inside and out that is perfect for families or a few friends.

I booked this beautiful villa to celebrate my Birthday with friends & family. 10 of us plus my 2 year old grandaughter. The hosts - Giuseppe and Pia booked a local Restaurant for us prior to our trip and the evening of our first day there we hired their Chef to cook for us at the villa, which was just perfect. We didn't hire any cars so it was really helpful that the Concierge drove us to the local supermarket to stock up with supplies and also to & from the local train station- Sarzana on a few occasions. We spent one day relaxing by the pool which was perfect. The location is remote but less than 10 min drive to Sarzana. Taxi @€20 and Taxi to La Spezia @€40/€50. Stunning views and lovely walks locally. Can't wait to go back!!!

Family chill time

The Villa was exactly as we expected only more so! Pia and Giovanni couldn't have been more welcoming and the Villa felt very homely and relaxing in its eclectic fabulous decor. We felt at home right away which was good as we were there for four weeks! We had family and friends stay at different times and all felt relaxed and enjoyed themselves either swimming in the huge lovely pool( which has a diving board) or doing basketball hoops or playing table tennis. There a masses of room so you don't feel on top of each other . Some of us did some sightseeing but the views and sunsets from the villa whilst having a barbecue or taking advantage of the chef and cooking lessons created some fabulous memories. Our hosts and concierge , Khalifa, were brilliant and answered any queries very quickly. I can't recommend highly enough !

WHAT A NICE PLACE !!!!!

We were on a family holiday in Liguria with our parents and two little kids in the 5 Terre area. This house was a more than lucky find, it will definitely remain on our list of destinations. The combination of a warm and heart felt welcome by the owner and the quality of the place make it a rare find. . The accommodation met all our expectations. It was spacious and bright with a lot of room for our large company. All amenities are of very good quality and condition is impeccable. The large swimming pool kept the kids busy all the day long (and night too !!!!) The area is really nice and we were able to find in the area nice restaurants. Franco and Pia were very friendly and explained as much as was required and was always easy to reach them if any questions were to arise. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and stay there again if we plan to go to this part of Liguria again.

Great views, lots of space, needs a bit of upkeep.

Very lovely home, stunning views from the deck. Great communication with host. The place had plenty of space for two families, total of 8 people. Great to come back to a refreshing pool after a hot day and watch the sunset from the deck. We wish the place was a little bit cleaner and more maintained. Prior reviews do mention leaking shower and we have experienced it as well. One of the bedrooms had pet hair all over the sheets, likely from a cat that lives on the property. Kind of an issue of you have cat allergies. We ended up washing it ourselves in the end. Overall we were happy about our vacation stay there and would recommend it to others.

wonderful villa!

we were 10 people and spent a lovely week in this wonderful villa! the view is really amazing and the balcony is exactly as on the pictures if not even better! the house is really cosy and comfortable! the swimming pool area has sun the whole day from morning to late afternoon. Pia can is very kind and always available for any kind of help, the area is simple but nice with beautiful village to visit, nice heels from where you can enjoy the view of the sea and also some beach with sand. generally we were very happy and warmly suggest this house especially for families or group of friends. some notes to remark even if small i think is correct to highlight: the bathroom of yellow room needs to be checked because the water pression is too low and several times it wasn't possible to take a shower. the big sofa in the living room is very comfortable but need to be cleaned deeper.

Thanks for the nice review. I am very pleased you enjoyed the Villa and the beautiful terrace as well as the new pool area. The surrounding villages are very picturesque and the Villa enjoys a strategic position close to cities such as Florence and Siena as well as being close to beautiful beaches. At the same time immersed in its natural park it is very peaceful and very safe. The shower problem in the Honey Suite was promptly repaired due to the limescale and the sofa you referred to was scrupulously washed out although we did not find it dirty as the sofa covers are changed every week. Constructive criticism is always welcome as they help us to do better and better.

Spectacular Views from this Spacious Castlenuovo Magra Villa

My wife and I along with two other couples spent five nights in this stately villa. While the roads leading to it are full of twists, bumps and hairpin turns, upon arrival you can fully appreciate the magnificent views as well as the home’s design and attention to detail. Franco and Pia are fabulous hosts and provided prompt answers to all of our queries along with restaurant suggestions and directions when needed. One night they arranged for a talented chef to prepare an exceptional dinner with wine pairings which was a definite highlight of our stay. I should mention that this property is not close to Cinque Terre but you can get there via the train system by driving to the La Spezia station which is about 18 miles away. From there you can travel by train to all 5 villages. There is also a nearby winery (‘Ca Lunae) which produces fantastic wines and offers tours and tastings which we highly recommend. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Villa Vernazza and created many lasting memories!

Sarzana stay

We loved this place, the pool and property are beautiful, the communication with Pia and Giuseppe was very good. We had a total of 7 people over 2 weeks. I would never stay here without a car. Parking is easy, many yummy places to eat near the villa (5 minutes), grocery store is close, train, 10 minutes. We did day trips to Lucca, Portovenere, Cinque Terre, La Spezia, Carrera marble mines, and one overnight to Santa Margherita. The kitchen is perfect, the patio is magic, the outdoor shower is where most of us wanted to shower. Views are spectacular. The pasta class and cooking night with Antonella was magic. We also loved going to the local "bars" with the locals for Appertivo, so fun.Every morning we would head out to a local bakery to get fresh croissants and donuts. We had great weather, one day of rain in 14 days. We would love to return some day. Khalifa is the property on site manager and he is takes care of the grounds and pool and keeps it looking pristine.

Beautiful, Clean with Magnificent View!

When we arrived, 9 ladies from Canada, the villa took our breath away. Its interesting architecture and hidden gems kept us intrigued from the very beginning to the end of our stay. The villa had everything we needed to start off our vacation. Pia and Franco were amazing in every way in trying to make our stay comfortable. We hired a driver almost full time that was recommended by Pia and he was fantastic. Always on time and in a cheery mood. He also offers pre-organized trips as well. Although he speaks no English, we managed with a telephone app that translated. Keep in mind you do need a vehicle for this property. One evening we hired Chef Antonella, also recommended by Pia and Franco to cook us up a meal at the villa. It was wonderful. We chose the menu in advance and we were not disappointed. The pool was refreshing along with a wonderful outdoor shower, which we did use. There is a washing machine but no dryer. They do have a great set up to dry the cloths outside. The bedrooms were spacious and quite soundproof. We had dinner at the local restaurant called La Valle. It was excellent and we could walk there. This was the only restaurant we could walk to besides the one in the old town (uphill). Unfortunately we could not get a table for 9. Another great restaurant for pizza (the best) and other Italian delights (I had lamb) is in the town of Castelnuovo called Napoli e Pepe. Both these restaurants are a little on the rustic side but great service and well priced. I'm sure I speak for all 9 of us; we would highly recommend this villa for large groups. Hi Sheryl and Estelle and Joanne and Nicole and all the others girls. It was very nice to had you as a guests! you were an amazing group and I hope to see you again in the future. I'm really glad you had a good time and the weather was good and you had the opportunity to visit the nearby city of art such as Florence, Pisa, Lucca and 5 terre and also to enjoy the beaches and the very good Restaurant we have. Most of all the aerea is beautiful, interesting, but safe! You are right: a car is needed but as you said driver Giuliano with is beautiful van can drive a group, maximum 9, almost everywhere. The Villa is large enough for big group and has space a privacy for all. The pool offer a great refreshing spot and all the privacy. Chef Antonella is also available for cooking lesson too. I and Franco are really happy to make the job the best we can and we work to improve always. Thanks a lot Sheryl really hope to see you all again in the future. Pia and Franco

Dream House

Simply put, everything about this house is incredible, and believe me, when we had to leave, I almost shed a tear! And here is why: LOCATION: The villa is on the border between pictoresque Liguria (5 Terre) and poetic Tuscany. Deciding which of these two fantastic regions to see is a pretty wonderful problem to have. Indeed, the train station is very close by, which is great because traveling by train is the best way to get around in Italy. Nevertheless, the house is surrounded only by nature, offering ultimate privacy and peacefulness. HOSTS: Franco and Pia are very wonderful people and it was a great pleasure getting to meet them. Authentic Italians, native of this area ,they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our stay. Ask them everything: food, things to do, places to visit and rest assured they will recommend you the very best. THE VILLA: Ok, so the photos really do not do it justice. This is place is enchanted, and we almost felt we were in a movie.The bedrooms are all very cozy and well furnished with their own bathrooms, while the master bedroom is just astonishing with a breathtaking view (the valley and the sea) and a beautiful bathroom.The kitchen is not huge, but you`ll find everything you need and you can enjoy eating in the spacious living room or the balcony. Having the pool is great and it can be illuminated at night. We loved relaxing in it at night while only hearing nature around us. Finally, for the above reasons and more my family and I had an unforgettable time and will definitely consider coming back in the future. Thanks for everything Franco and Pia!

This is the perfect villa, look no further!

My family of nine just spent a wonderful, relaxing week at Villa Vernazza. I spent a long time researching villas in the area, looking for the perfect one. I found it! The setting of the villa is lovely. We enjoyed every moment, day or night, spent on the veranda looking out at the mountains, sea, and countryside. There was ample space and seating for everyone. I loved being able to look up at the lit-up tower at Castelnuovo Magra every night. The pool area is gorgeous, with more ample seating for everyone. The shower with the solar hot water tank was an added bonus that we all appreciated. The patios around the pool are charming and nicely landscaped. I enjoyed just walking around the villa and taking in the fresh scents and sights. The villa itself is beautifully decorated and each room is lovely. Everyone had plenty of space and enjoyed their ensuite bathrooms. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and what a treat that was! The view out of the two walls of windows is amazing! The location of the villa is unbeatable. We easily accessed numerous different activities/towns. We had two rental cars. One day, some in our party drove to the closest beach and said it was less than 10 minutes away. Another day, a carload of us made the short, hour drive to Florence. One day, we all went to the Carrara marble quarry/tour. We highly recommend that!! One day, we drove to the Sarzana train station and took a train to the Cinque Terre region (with a change at La Spezia Centrale station). We hiked between Vernazza and Monterosso. The beauty here is unsurpassed. All visitors to Villa Vernazza should go to Cinque Terre. On our departure from the villa, we had a short drive (50 minuted) to Lucca, where we stayed for two days. The villa is also very close to Pisa. We enjoyed a couple jaunts up to Castelnuovo Magra. What a beautiful little village! We recommend going up there to visit a cafe, restaurant, or the tower. A highlight of our trip that we will never forget is the meal/cooking class put on at the villa by Antonella. We learned how to prepare several different appetizers, as well as eat an assortment of bruschetta, another yummy appetizer, two pasta main dishes, a second plate of a flakey, salmon pastry, followed by the best tiramisu, all served with a couple bottles of wine. It was dreamy; the best night at the villa! Pia and Franco were gracious and helpful. They answered all our questions and were expert with the villa upkeep. Thank you! ❤️

Magnifique villa en surplombant les environs

Très belle accueille de giuseppe et pia dans leur belle propriété. Belle piscine avec plongeoir que les enfants ont bcp apprécié. La terrasse a une vue magnifique jusqu'à la mer au loin.

Ideal für einen Urlaub in größerer Runde

Die Villa von Pia und Giuseppe liegt wunderschön am Hügel mit einem tollen Blick über das Tal und das Meer. Das großzügige Haus, die große Terrasse mit vielen Sitzgelegenheiten und der schöne Garten mit dem großen Pool bieten für jeden ein schönes Plätzchen zum erholen. Pia und Giuseppe haben uns tolle Restauranttipps gegeben und auch gleich die Reservierung für uns übernommen! Vielen Dank nochmal dafür an unsere sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber! Man fühlt sich rundum willkommen!! Dank dem guten Geist des Hauses ist der Garten topp gepflegt und sogar um die Entsorgung des Mülls wird sich gekümmert. Ein besonderes Highlight für uns war der Abend mit unserer Privatköchin, Antonella, die uns auf unserer Terrasse mit einem super Menü verwöhnt hat! Auch hierfür lieben Dank an unsere Gastgeber- wir hätten uns keinen besseren Ort für unseren Familienurlaub wünschen können!!

Traumurlaub in Traumvilla

Wir waren eine gemischte Gruppe von 8 Personen im Alter von 30-57 Jahren. Die Villa ist perfekt für uns geeignet gewesen, wir haben uns phantastisch erholt! Egal, ob beim kochen, lesen, Aperol- Spritz trinken oder quatschen vor dem behaglichen Kamin - es war für jede Stimmung etwas dabei! Dank Kalifa, der guten Seele des Hauses, mussten wir uns nicht um die Entsorgung des Mülls kümmern, und kleinere Reparaturen (Auswechseln einer Glühbirne) wurden sofort erledigt. Die Anfahrt über die steile Auffahrt war etwas schwierig, aber wir haben es sogar mit einem 8-Sitze-Bus geschafft! Vielen Dank, Giuseppe und Pia, dass ihr uns euer tolles Haus anvertraut habt! Die traumhaft schöne Aussicht werden wir so schnell nicht vergessen!

This wonderful house is a family house from about 25 years as we bought it as our holidays retreat. As a matter of fact is such a magic place that nobody can leave without regrets and the promise to be back soon.
Just beside the villa, is an antique pathway ,through the wood, that leads upto the charming village of Castelnuovo. Magra. For the more adventurous, the pathway leads to other panoramic pathways.
