Spacious, well equipped property, close to everything
Jorge, the owner and his family were very welcoming. The apartment is situated a short distance (10 mins) from the town centre but has good access to all the essentials such as a well stocked mini market and wonderful cafe a short distance away. We quickly became regulars at the cafe which is run by a friendly couple. They cook a couple of different dishes each day which are fantastic value and very tasty if you don't fancy cooking. There are also several other restaurants, a churrascaria (char-grilled chicken) and cafes. The beaches are very clean, are also very close-by (10 mins).
The apartment has a comfortable, very spacious living room with cable TV showing several English-language channels. There is WiFi too. The kitchen has all the useful appliances eg microwave, washing machine, tumble-drier, toaster and gas cooker. There is a separate, good-sized pantry. The 2 bedrooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. There are 2 bathrooms; they could do with some modernising but they are fine.
I guess my only criticism is that there can be a fair amount of noise from passing traffic although it's not a problem at night. The bin men empty the large communal bins on the street below at about 2:30am and this can be a bit disruptive if the windows are left open but we got used to it.
We found the apartment to be very good value. It's convenience to the town centre, beaches and other facilities means that we hope to return before long. Lagos is a really pleasant town, which has not been spoiled by the summer visitors. Loads of nice restaurants, serving a wide variety of menus. The motorway makes it easy to reach Lagos.
