The noisy location was terrible
The owner is very nice. For the price we paid though I have some comments.
The house is good, homely and nicely decorated. It's located a short walking distance from the beach, which is great. The swimming pool and gardens are lovely! The owner have redone them this year.
Kitchen and lounge are nice.
However, all bedrooms and bathrooms are worn and tired. Bedsheets and general appearance of bedrooms was not great. All bedrooms and bathrooms need a refresh and updating. I would have expected to get clean bedsheets to change to included in the price as we stayed for 2 weeks. This was charged extra at a very high price.
The basement room and the outside cottage room were smelling of mold. One person in our party tried to sleep in the basement room but felt sick waking up the next morning so we took the mattress and put it in a bedroom upstairs.
The biggest problem though is the noisy location! ALL deliveries, workmen and most private traffic into Cap Ferret come past the house. And the either break or accelerate to or from the round about which is next to the house. It was not a relaxing environment. In addition neighbours were having major garden work done and the noise levels were terrible, both day and night.
