The host Jose was a very nice fellow and shared with us a number of interesting places to visit. The property itself was however a real disappointment and did not nearly meet expectations.

What else could we possibly add to all of the other reviews. This property is a gem, beautiful setting, quiet and private - not overlooked by neighbours as they are some considerable distance away and screened by trees and terrain.José is a most generous and helpful host, providing us with useful tips and general information on the surrounding area.Some people may possibly be a little wary of the access track which is quite steep and has several hairpin bends but we managed quite well with a fairly modest hire car and just generally taking care, especially when it got wet on one occasion. It’s a great location as a base to explore the wider Douro region.If you are a couple who value tranquility and sensational views, go ahead and book, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic mountain house, set in a very rural area. Ideal location for a relaxing holiday for 2 people.The host Jose was very helpfull and knowledgable of the area, with a lot of local recommendation's. Stunning views

Jose was very welcoming and the property was very comfortable. Jose gave us lots of good advice about restaurants and places to visit. The kitchen is basic but there are so many good and inexpensive places to eat out that that didn’t really matter.

One week was not enough

Peace and quiet on a hillside with birdsong and wildlife. This is a beautiful property with the most wonderful view and hospitable host. Absolute relaxation. We will definitely return.

What a view!

We had a week st this property. The kitchen is quite basic with a four ring cooker and a microwave, We soon realised that it was best to take advantage of the super restaurants in the area! The location is excellent for exploring and the owners suggestions of where to go were welll received. I was nervous about our car being able to manage the steep road up and down but no issues arose. The garden area was super to relax in

This place is perfect!Seriously beautiful. Surrounded by mountains and peace and quiet, you can't help but relax.We alternated between days of exploring beautiful places, full of history (recommended by José), and days of staying in and enjoying the pool and the loungers.I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing break somewhere, away from noise, distraction, stress, people or being busy.José, the host, is a lovely bloke and balances always being available and helpful with also being discreet and leaving you alone when you're just doing your own thing.Oh, and that window!! With that view!! Wow! Easily one of my best ever holidays!! Thank you, José.

Truly a special place

This house is an absolute gem and the owner José is the perfect host. It was exceptional in every way and from the moment we arrived we felt relaxed. The photos, though accurate, really do not do it justice. We cooked every day and the kitchen is well equipped with plenty of worktop space for preparing food. There is a Lidl and a E.Leclerc hypermarket a short drive away. The views are spectacular and the gardens lovely, lots of space and plenty of privacy. We loved it so much that after the first day’s beautiful train ride following the Douro river, we spent the remaining days at the house, sitting by the pool or eating on the terrace, enjoying the views and the peace and quiet. We wished we had been able to stay longer and really hope to return. Thank you José, you have created a very special place.

Lovely little place for 2 people (a rare find)

We stayed for a week in early July when the weather had picked up and it was 27-30degrees every day. Josè was a really fantastic host. He let us in early after our flight arrived very early. He took time to tell us about good places to visit and pointed them out on map. The location was great. Only 15 minutes drive from Lamego. You will need a car for going out to eat. The local roads can be quite narrow but also steep and windy. We had a Nissan Qashqai which was good for dealing with uneven surfaces but very tight on some of local roads. There is a small kitchen if you want to stay in and cook. No oven but an electric top and a fridge just big enough for two. Main bedroom is downstairs and very cool during night.

Séjour très agréable, au vert, dans un environnement paisible et serein, à peine troublé par le ballet des hirondelles autour de la piscine.Accroché à la montagne, le logement est parfait, avec sa grande baie vitrée offrant une magnifique vue sur la vallée et les levers de soleil. La chambre, simple et accueillante, offre tout le confort nécessaire.La cuisine, fonctionnelle et bien équipée, permet de préparer de bons petits plats les jours où la paresse — ou tout simplement la beauté des lieux — vous donne envie de rester tranquillement sur place plutôt que de partir à la découverte des nombreux restaurants savoureux de la région.Et pour compléter ce séjour, il y a Sr. José, le maître des lieux, dont la gentillesse, la disponibilité et l’amabilité contribuent largement à rendre l’expérience encore plus agréable.Une très belle adresse pour profiter pleinement du calme, de la nature et de la douceur des lieux.

Prachtige plek, waar je de hele dag niks anders hoort als de vogeltjes en insecten om je heen.2 geweldige weken gehad, heel veel privacy en genoten van het zwembad en de rust die er heerst.Huisje is prima met alles erop en eraan, de weg erna toe vraagt wel iets van je stuurmans kunsten, maar is prima te doen.Op de bank voor het raam heb je een geweldig uitzicht over de berg er tegenover.Activiteiten en prachtige plekken genoeg in een straal van 1,5 a 2 uur rijden

Havre de paix au milieu des châtaigniers et de la lavande bercé par le bourdonnement des abeilles. Ideal pour 2 personnes qui cherchent tranquillité et ressourcement. La piscine est parfaite du matin au soir, loin des regards. Maison bien située pour visiter la région du Douro et découvrir ses merveilles. L'accès peut sembler un peu difficile mais rien d'insurmontable. José est un hôte prévenant et de très bon conseil. Nous reviendrons certainement.

Perfect als je van stilte en natuur houdt!

Fantastische plek om even helemaal tot rust te komen! Het uitzicht is echt fenomenaal. Het huisje is simpel maar heeft alles wat je nodig hebt! Ook de keuken is uitgerust met alles wat je nodig hebt om heerlijk thuis te eten. José is super vriendelijk en erg behulpzaam! Als je wat vraagt regelt hij het! Een heerlijke plek met veel privacy. Jose is erg vriendelijk en gaf veel tips waar te eten en leuke plaatsen om te bezoeken. Keuken is voldoende uitgerust om zelf te koken. Het bed ligt heerlijk en ook de douche was goed.

Perfecto para desconectar y aprovechar la casa, piscina y vistas

Hemos estado dos semanas donde hemos aprovechado la piscina privada al máximo. Zona con grandes vistas y aislada del núcleo urbano como queríamos. Dueño muy atento a todo y cualquier requerimiento y consejos. Indudablemente para repetir. Gracias José.

Uma estadia no paraíso

Uma casa de pedra muito acolhedora, bem enquadrada na paisagem, com uma janela enorme, que permitia ver as montanhas verdejantes. Simplesmente ficar sentada no sofá a olhar a paisagem, num completo silêncio, já era um alimento para o espírito. O anfitrião é extremamente simpático e prestável. A sua cadela Chica, uma labradora muito meiga e obediente, visitava-nos todos os dias e adorava as festas que lhe fazíamos. Foi uma estadia simplesmente excepcional.

Escapada relajante

Es sitio es tal cual en las fotos, la tranquilidad, la intimidad, José muy agradable nos enseño todo y nos dio unos consejos para visitar y comer. Un sitio ideal para desconectar y relajarse.
