Mum, Dad and 3 daughters arrived from London on the night of storm Brian and we were very grateful for the wood and kindling left by our generous hosts. Hillview cottage is cosy and spacious everything you need is here. We arrived to lovely welcome pack containing scrumptious Cornish goodies, and the cottage has lots of information on the surrounding areas, we loved reading about the history of Hillview. The view from the cottage is simply wonderful.
On our first night we had pre booked a table at The Halestown Inn (5 minute walk from cottage), the food is really good here and they have a very good vegan option.
4 miles away is Zennor, we did the moderate circular route which we found in the book of walks in the cottage. (see everything you need is here) The Walk has stunning views and the scenery was simply breathtaking. On our return we stopped in The Tinners Arms, a lovely pub with great food (there is a vegan option) and a huge open fire. We received a lovely warm welcome. They also have a folk night on Thursday's which is very good.
Everywhere is close by. We visited St Michael's Mount, Marazion, Mousehole, Landsend, St Just, Porthcurno, Penzance, Porthleven, Carbis Bay and of course the beautiful St Ive's. There is a great path that takes you right into the top of St Ives and takes about 40 minutes to walk from the cottage. If you only have time for one museum/gallery we would highly recommend The Barbara Hepworth museum, what a life! Porthmeor beach Café has delicious food with a lovely view of the beach. (good vegan option)
Ian and Angela have created a delightful space which is decorated to a high standard, we loved staying here and all of the little touches were greatly appreciated. Don't hesitate press the book button!
Thank you for everything.
