Malgré le court séjour(weekend) nous avons apprécié l'accueil des propriétaires et leurs attentions pour les pains, beurre, confitures maison, jus de fruit qui nous attendaient. Nous avons profité du lieu pour la place disponible autant des chambres que pour la salle à manger. Les cuisines sont bien équipées.Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans ce gîte au calme de la campagne ariégeoise.

Weekend mémorable

J'avais réservé le gite de Fran et Phil en vue de passer un weekend avec des amis, à la campagne, pour fêter mes 40 ans. La capacité d'accueil était bien sûr un élément prépondérant de ma recherche, la piscine et la grande salle de réception étaient également un aspect important pour moi. Du coup, j’ai été agréablement surpris par la taille des chambres (très confortables au passage) et le fait qu'elles aient presque toutes une salle d'eau attenante. La piscine était très propre, le parc très ombragé et bien entretenu. Fran et Phil ont été trés arrangeants tout au loin de notre séjour. Bref, nous avons passé un super weekend chez Fran et Phil et je les recommande donc vivement !!

Une belle expérience en plein cœur de L’Ariège, Fran nous a très bien reçus, la maison est très spacieuse avec des grands lits. Le jardin avec la piscine chauffée est très beau et agréable pour les premières belles journées de printemps. Je recommande vivement !

Notre séjour de 2 nuits était top !! L accueil des hôte au top! La simplification d arrivée et les horaires flexibles au top! Les prestations de la maison au top! ( chambres avec SDB, matériels de loisirs...) Les petites attentions laissées dans la maison au top! ( café, produits de 1eres nécessité, lait, beurre, jus de fruit...) Magnifique séjour en logement entier

Nous cherchions un logement entier pour un groupe d'amis d'une bonne quinzaine d'adultes, 3 enfants et 1 bébé. Lorsque nous sommes tombés sur l'annonce du logement de Saverdun, il a retenu notre attention. Et nous n'avons pas été déçu ! Tout d'abord, les propriétaires, Fran et Phil, sont à la fois agréables, accueillants, gentils, cherchent notre confort et ont fait le maximum pour que notre séjour soit bon. Ils étaient à la fois discrets (puisque résidants d'un logement annexe) mais aussi réactifs quand nous avons eu des ajustements de dernière minute. Ils se sont montrés généreux sur la flexibilité des horaires d'arrivée et de départ, ce qui n'est pas le cas de tout le monde. Le logement en lui-même est vraiment top ! En fait, il s'agit de 3 gites qui sont flexibles : on peut, en fonction du nombre de vacanciers, louer un petit gîte, tout comme on peut louer les 3 gîtes, ce qui a été notre cas. Alors, les 3 gîtes s'ouvrent pour ne donner plus qu'1 seul immense gîte capable d'accueillir dans d'excellentes conditions un groupe de 15-20 personnes en comptant les adultes et quelques enfants, puisqu'au final 7 chambres sont disponibles, chaque chambre (ou presque) disposant à la fois de sa salle de bain et de ses toilettes. Sans compter qu'il y a 3 cuisines. L'extérieur est juste magnifique ! Une grande piscine chauffée, des étendues d'herbes pour des jeux en tout genre, une table de ping pong, un baby foot, des livres, un barbecue, etc. Bref, un excellent séjour avec un excellent accueil. Nous gardons cette adresse précieusement pour d'éventuels séjours dans le coin. Clairement, nous ne pouvons que recommander !

Une semaine parfaite de grand rassemblement familial ; à 17 personnes sans jamais avoir l'impression de se gêner. Confort, calme, région exceptionnelle, gîte formidable (un bonus pour la super piscine) et l'accueil très sympa de Phil et Fran. à recommander !

Terre and Lumière

At the end of August, we had a great stay at Domaine La Roudeille! Sallyann and Barry are a lovely couple who made us immediately feel at home. Although we booked 2 separate (bed)rooms, it more felt like an appartment because we had our own entrance and nice terrace at the back of the farmhouse. We also appreciated the "library", the cleanliness of the rooms and the dinner which we booked upon our late arrival. The kids had a great time taking care of the chickens and the goats, we all enjoyed the swimming-pool, the peace and quiet of the region and above all Sallyann's and Barry's hospitality!

A fantastic, peaceful 'Hidden' gem of a place

Having spent many hours looking for a peaceful retreat to recharge our batteries, we finally opted for Domaine de Roudeille and were so glad we did. From our initial communications detailing our needs, to the day we arrived and the day we reluctantly waved 'Au revoir', this was a delightful, restful and enjoyable sojourn. Sallyann and Barry are discrete, well-travelled and caring hosts who have worked hard to provide a haven of peace and tranquillity. Frankly, the listings and website don't do the place justice - and we told them so! Located a few kilometres from a small town with all amenities and 15 minutes from the larger town of Pamiers, the domain is surrounded by lush countryside and woodland (excellent walking) and presaged by a long tree lined private drive. It is an idyllic setting with no road noise or light pollution (the milky way was amazing). We booked the 2 bed roomed Gite: ample living room with DVD, French TV and comfortable seating and dining for 6; a well resourced kitchen (as committed foodies this was most important/welcome) 2 extremely large and comfortable chambres with en-suite bathrooms and our own private balcony and private garden with more seating and some great birding. The beauty of Domaine de Roudeille is the layout, enabling different guests to be accommodated - couples in Chambre D'hote; larger families in studios/gites/chambres and extended families through clever adjoining doors and even floors, and yet it offers peace and privacy too. There is the additional bonus of a beautifully situated swimming pool, an enormous 'Games Barn' with table tennis, french billiards and darts; an orchard and freely roaming hens - 'Hello Mavis' and a couple of bikes for more active adults. The 'games' barn is situated away from the accommodation ensuring peace is maintained. There is also plenty of communal garden space, as well as each studio/gite having 'private' areas. In the main house, there is a very large 'day room' offering board games, cards, books, DVD's, an honesty bar and comfy chairs for reading as well as a dining room with a real fire for cosy evenings. All guests are welcome. We were keen to ensure we had a peaceful stay, we work with children all year, and didn't want to hear their joyful noise on holiday; the lay out of the spaces ensured we didn't have to. All in all, a fabulous stay, with lots to amuse, in a bucolic paradise made extra special by Barry and Sallyann. We will certainly return!

Ideal Rural Getaway

We spent a fabulous two week stay in the Gite Ciel, Zen and Terre. Domaine de Roudielle is a wonderfully secluded property. Formerly a farmhouse to the main chateau that is located further along the quiet private road … on a bad day two cars come past. The grounds are sizeable, simple and safe … highlights are the games room (french billiards, darts and table tennis), the friendly chickens, the seating area under the tree for 6pm Pastis and the super shared swimming pool, which has to be commended for the use of purifying salts rather than vast quantities of chlorine. The gite itself has a light and spacious feel. Sally and Barry have kitted out with all of the comforts that you would hope for. The kitchen is particularly well set up. The quality and selection of equipment gives plenty of options to cook whatever you want. An unusual touch is the inclusion of a number of stock items such as washing up liquid, toilet paper, sugar, salt, herbs, spices and more. The layout of the first floor gite is as follows: the Zen Room is a double bedroom that is to one end of the property and therefore more private than the other two rooms, perfect as a parents bedroom. The Ciel Room has a double and a single bed, perfect for children … it is spacious and has lots of storage. The Terre Room has a single bed as well as the lounge, dining and kitchen area … Terre is pretty much a studio apartment, albeit a very large one. In addition, there are two lovely bathrooms (with showers); two walk-in wardrobes and outside is the wooden terrace with table and chairs. As parents we found it particularly useful that we were able to clearly see the pool area from the terrace. In addition, the pool has a code operated motion sensor alarm that automatically resets after ten-minutes of inactivity. Downstairs you have sole use of a patio with a large table, chairs and a gas bbq. There is a large communal day room downstairs with comfortable seating, chess, books, DVDs and an honesty box for chilled drinks. In addition, there are two other Gites at the Domaine, though for 99% of the time you wouldn’t know it. They are in opposite corners of the property, so in no way overlooking. It is also worth mentioning that Sally and Barry offer freshly cooked meals at 20Euros per head, including aperitif and wine. The food was lovely … fresh and plentiful. We thoroughly recommend Domain de Roudeille.

Brilliant stay (again!)

Cant believe we've been back for over two weeks, wish we were still there. Mum cant wait to come over again, neither can we. Harrison keeps saying he misses his friend the brown chicken and misses you both too. Hopefully it wont be long before we come over again, and we're still trying to get all our friends to come too; we've told them how lovely your place is and also how lovely and welcoming you both are, you made our holiday very special.

Great indeed

We appreciated very much our too short stay in Roudeille .Upon our arrival after a long and difficult car trip :the welcome by Cheyne herself was a real surprise and pleasure.the arrangments of appartments are quite fancy and we could appreciate a lot of bright ideas everywhere in the rooms.For those who have their cars undeer their eyes don't be afraid they are safely parked without any inconvenience with some others guests if any.The swimming pool is fantastic as it is not a basin but a true swimming pool in the middle of à pretty and smart garden surveyed and maintained by Barry who knows how to make and fix everything withs skills and smile.All facilities are available in Roudeille :should you prefer to stay with a book on a bench under the trees or go for a ride to Mirepoix or Foix everything is possible without any efforts.In other words we had a wonderful stay and hope to be in a position within a near future to return to this lovely place ,to see our hosts and not doing anything as we might be lazy sometimes as Cheyne and Barry will take care as usual .Thanks for everything and for those who will read these few lines :get there and enjoy by yourselves .Jean marie

A wonderful stay

We stayed in Gite Jardin whilst in France to celebrate our son's wedding. The welcome we received was superb and Sallyann and Barry were extremely helfpul. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had eveything we required. Staying in the rest of the accommodation were other members of our family - also there to celebrate the wedding. We all enjoyed a wonderful meal, cooked by Sallyann and Barry, in the dining area on our first evening and relaxed with drinks by the log fire afterwards - perfect! We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Une adresse à retenir

Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances au Domaine de Roudeille avec nos filles âgées de 2,5 et 6 ans. Les prestations sont de grande qualité : gite spacieux, très propre et bien équipé. L'endroit est calme (au milieu des champs de tournesols ) et tout à la fois proche des commerces. Le domaine de Roudeille comprend également une grande piscine et des animaux (chèvres, poissons et poules) qui font le bonheur des enfants qui ont par ailleurs un vaste espace pour se dépenser. Un grand merci à Sally et Barry, les propriétaires, très accueillants, chaleureux et surtout patients et disponibles pour nos filles qui les ont beaucoup sollicités (nourriture des chèvres, ramassage des oeufs, découverte des recoins du domaine ...). Tous les critères sont réunis pour passer un agréable moment en famille.
