We planned this stay for a dance competition that fell through. I really liked the townhouse—it was clean, had 2.5 bathrooms (a must if my dancers competed), and had comfortable furnishings, save the mattresses. We had a few issues at the house. We had no hot water on the first day because it had been turned off. So the first showers after check in (we had been swimming) were barely warm and got worse. I called, left a voicemail, and left a VRBO message. I didn’t hear from the owner for 4 hours. It was an easy fix, but the owner should have checked in sooner, given that we had just arrived. I also had an issue with the washing machine because it left gray splotches on our clothing after the first wash; some stains washed out. don’t know if this was related to the water heater or what. The trash collection information in the rental agreement is wrong. So we put trash out too early and then people added their trash to it and it was never collected. So we had to deal with the added trash and take it all to the dump. I didn’t bother relaying this information to the owner because he did not seem interested in our satisfaction. Then, while we were driving home, he messaged me 3 times about a blind that was broken. We didn’t break it, but I found it odd that the owner becomes very communicative when there is a problem on his end. Overall, the house served our purposes fine. I anticipate a charge for the blind, but no consideration of the water heater or washer issue.
