Some words on litochoro: Litochoro (in modern Greek: Λιτόχωρο / Litóchôro or Λιτόχωρον / Litóchôron) is a city and an ancient municipality located in the southern part of the ancient prefecture of Pieria, famous for being at the foot of Mount Olympus. The city is at a distance of about 90 km from Thessaloniki, in the western Thermaic Gulf. The first mention of Litochoro appears about a trip of St. Dionysus (Άγιος Διονύσιος ο εν Ολύμπω). It is a popular city for those wishing to climb Mount Olympus; almost all climbing routes start southwest of Litochoro. Since 2010, the former municipality has been merged with its neighbors to form the new municipality of Dion-Olympus. Litochoro is located 22 kilometers south of Katerini, 90 kilometers south-southwest of Thessaloniki, 58 kilometers north of Larissa and 420 kilometers west-northwest of Athens, on the eastern slopes of Mount Olympus , considered in Greek mythology as the residence of the twelve gods of Olympus.
The pines, cedars and fir trees of the slopes of Olympus rise to the southwest and northwest. Much of the land around Litochoro, especially in the south, remains uncultivated. The fields are predominant in the north.
Litochoro has several restaurants and cafeterias, a lively city all year round.In the east of the city of Litochoro there is an extended coastal area, known as Pláka or (Πλάκα Λιτοχώρου / Pláka Litochốrou), extending from from Olympus to the Thermaic Gulf and from Leptokarya south to Gritsa in the north. Part of the E75 national road runs through the Plaka area in the south of Litochoro. The coastline consists mainly of sandy beaches with seaside springs, campsites, restaurants and beach bars, which operate mostly during the summer season, from June to September

Super Wohnung

Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet. Ideal sind die drei Balkone. Man hat also immer Gelegenheit, in der Sonne zu sitzen. Die Gastgeber sind super freundlich und der Empfang war herzlich. Die Wohnung ist ideal, um Wanderungen in den Bergen zu unternehmen. Auch der Strand ist nicht weit entfernt.

"We were in Litohoro for visiting family and Friends. The appartment was very well wit overviews at the sea and mount Olympus. The appartment is Fresh end new and all necessary things for a nice Holiday were available in the apartment. For a next stay we will book this appartment again."

Une location super accueillante dans une superbe région

L'appartement est vraiment agréable : bien équipé, avec une jolie vue tant sur le mont Olympe que sur la côté méditerranéenne. L'accueil par Yanis et son épouse est chaleureux. Nous avons reçu toutes les explications nécessaires y compris pour les multiples appareils électriques et ustensiles de cuisine. Charmante attention à l'arrivée : gâteaux et fruits ainsi qu'une excellente bouteille de vin. Un endroit calme qui permet (avec une voiture) de visiter divers sites historiques (Dion, Vergina, Pella...- mais aussi de se promener tant sur la plage que sur les contreforts du Mont Olympe. Possibilité aussi d'une journée de visites à Thessalonique en bus (pour s'éviter les problèmes de parking) et pour celles et ceux que les kilomètres ne rebutent pas, d'un saut jusqu'aux splendides sites du Pellion et des météores. Bref, un lieu reposant (mais nous étions là fin avril et nous ne pouvons nous prononcer pour d'autres saisons) et super-accueillant. Nous recommendons cette location sans réserves. Top Ausstattung, schöner Ausblick

Schöne Ferienwohung mit Balkonen sowohl mit Meer- als auch mit Olympblick, super technische Ausstattung, gute Betten. Nicht weit zum Zentrum des belebten Dorfes. Meer und Hochgebirge ganz nah. Sehr nette, gastfreundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter, die uns mitten in der Nacht empfangen und ein Frühstück für ersten Morgen inkl. selbstgebackenem Kuchen bereitgestellt haben. Wir hatten im Herbst eine sehr schöne, sonnige Woche in Litochoro. Wir haben den Olym bestiegen und waren Baden, sind deshalb nicht mehr dazu gekommen, die kostenlosen Tennisplätze im Dorf zu nutzen.

Lovely stay - lovely host

When you stay at Yannis' and Lilia's place you will meet helping, caring, respecting hosts. We were overwhelmed by the hospitality which was brought to us on the first day: A full fridge, a nice, clean appartment, the sea, the mountains and one friendly and entertaining Lilia to talk to - everything we could have wished for. She picked us up on a parking slot nearby the appartment and led us to it. This was very comfortable considering the tricky roads in the centre of Litochoro. They were also very flexible and accomodating with Checking In and Out. Thank you and best wishes from Hannover, Germany, Yvonne and Thomas

superschöne Wohnung mit allem Komfort

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von den Vermietern empfangen. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und super ausgestattet. Es fehlt an nichts. Wir können sie nur weiterempfehlen. Die Vermieter sind sehr hilfsbereit und beantworten Fragen direkt. Wir werden gerne wieder kommen.

Schöne und ruhige Wohnung mit Blick auf das Meer und das Olymp-Massiv

Sehr nette Gastgeber, die einen mit selbst gebackenem Kuchen und Spinat-Pie empfangen. Die Wohnung ist top ausgestattet und gepflegt. Sie liegt günstig für einen Urlaub am Strand und in den Bergen. Der Ort selbst bietet alles, was man benötigt. Zudem kann man gut und zu äußerst fairen Preisen essen gehen. Zu empfehlen sind auch die antike Stätte Dion, das Grab Philipps II. in Vergina und natürlich die Meteora-Klöster (2h Autofahrt).

Tolle Ferienwohnung / Sehr nette Vermieter

Wir hatten vom 27.08 bis 06.09.2016 einen wunderschönen Urlaub in Litochoro. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Die Einrichtung wurde von den Vermietern sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Das deutsche Fernsehen erfreut mit fasst allen Programmen. Wir wurden von unseren Vermietern mit selbst gebackenen Kuchen und Wassermelonen zur Begrüßung empfangen. Mit dem Auto kann man sehr schöne Ausflüge unternehmen und schöne Badestrände sind in der nähe vorhanden. Das war bis jetzt die schönste Ferienwohnung die wir hatten.

Superbe location de vacances au mont Olympe

C'est avec grand plaisir que nous sommes retournés dans cette jolie location, très bien équipée, spacieuse et confortable. A noter, il y a trois balcons, deux avec vue sur montagne et un avec vue sur mer au loin. Les propriétaires sont d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle, nous profitons pour encore les remercier de leur accueil si chaleureux et de toutes leurs attentions. C'est notre meilleure expérience de location en plus de vingt années. Nous y reviendrons !

Tolle Wohnung mit schönem Blick

Wir (Fam. mit einem Kind) wurden von den Vermietern außerordentlich nett empfangen. Da wir an einem Sonntag ankamen, waren wir über eine kleine Kühlschrankfüllung und selbstgebackenen Kuchen sehr erfreut. Die Wohnung, besonders die Küche, ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Von den drei! Balkonen hat man sowohl Aussicht auf den Olymp als auch auf das Meer. Toll. Alles war wie beschrieben. Unsere Reisezeit lag im März mit noch kühlen Temperaturen in der Nacht und deshalb waren wir über die Heizung sehr froh. Der Ort Litochoro hat auf uns einen sehr angenehmen Eindruck gemacht. Es gibt im Ort verschiedene kleine Supermärkte, Bäcker und genügend Möglichkeiten zum Essen gehen. Die Verständigung auf englisch klappte problemlos.

Excellente location

Appartement au top au-delà de nos espérance je le recommande...accueil de Yannis et de sa femme chaleureux merci encore à vous deux nous en garderons un très bon souvenir et qui sait à bientôt...je recommande à de futurs vacanciers de louer un véhicule à l'aéroport de thesalonique car véhicule obligatoire sur place... The appartement was very nice, clean and with a lot of space. Everything you need is available in the house. I really is a home away from home..! Litohoro is a nice village. Totally agreed with previous renters: spotlessly clean, silent, fully equipped flat on the hills of Mt.Olympus. Small supermarket, bakery are reachable with 5 minutes walk. View of the hills and the sea from the balconies. Really appreciated welcome package in the fridge on arrival. Ilia & Yannis thanks for your hospitability.

Cet appartement est de lo...

Cet appartement est de loin le plus nickel ou on a séjourné. Une propreté impeccable, tout le confort nécessaire (machine à laver, lessive, draps et linges de bain, tout pour cuisiner, climatisation…), on s’y sent comme à la maison. De quoi faire notre premier petit déjeuner nous attendais dans le frigo (très appréciable quand on arrive à 22h30 sans rien à manger !) et le gâteau d’arrivée faite par la propriétaire était délicieux. Nous recommandons donc vivement cette location : un rapport qualité / prix / gentillesse des propriétaires à toute épreuve !! Et le coin autour de Litochoro est magnifique, entre mer et montagne, à découvrir absolument !

"Smart apartments are located in a quiet place. View from rooms fine (sea, Olympus). To the city center of 10 minutes slowly. Stylishly,comfortably. Owners the Lilia and Yannis very hospitable, provided a lot of information on sights. Lilia cooks fine and tasty! Took great pleasure from rest!"

"The apartment is excelle...

"The apartment is excellent in every way, ideally located within a 10 minute walk of the town centre yet out of the way enough to be lovely and quiet. The views are exceptional, with a perfect view of Mount Olympus from the lounge and over the sea from the main bedroom. It is very clean and modern with every amenity you could wish for, we had a wonderful stay and would heartily recommend it, we will definitely return here. A word also about the owners, what lovely people! They were there to meet us and welcome us to Greece and show us round the apartment, told us where the shops and best restaurants were, and even left us a delicious home made dessert, we have to thank them enormously. Lastly, a word about the Greek people, what a friendly, generous group the Litochoro residents are, from free pizza in the bar to the bakery telling us to 'come back and pay tomorrow' when we found ourselves short of change on one day. Fantastic place."
