Hague Vacation

We had a great time at Cape Cod Village. Sue and Todd were great. Community was very friendly. If you go check out the YMCA, you can get a day pass and use their facilities. So much to do there, had an amazing time. Thank you for sharing your home!

Awesome stay!

Had everything we needed. Listed as under construction, but we actually liked what they're doing to the place. Very nice community and close to our boat rental place. We would definitely do this again. Thanks, Sue and Todd! :)

An Especially Favorable Vacation

Our family of 7 adults and one 4 year old grandson were so pleased with our cottage accommodations and location on Lake George. Having a spacious and safe beach area was necessary for all. Every concern from the use of our kayaks, our nearness to the beach, finding acceptable in-house cooling while living through the hottest summer ever in this region and more, were answered very satisfactorily! We hope to return next August and continue our decades of family vacationing on Lake George, next year again at Cape Cod Village in Hague, NY.

Fabulous Lake George

While I hate to advertise our precious lake, we also need people to come to our area so that we can stay alive! Everything closes down between Sept and Columbus Day and reopens only in May... Todd and Sue's cabin is a typical lake cottage. Very similar to our family cottage that we had to sell in 2002. The bedrooms are very nice, location is fabulous and the hosts are great! Cottages can feel very small. We had 8 people trying to cook and live in small quarters but think of it as "Glamping" on a wonderful lake. This water is so clean you can drink it and we always did except in summer when too many people and boats were around... we boiled it first. Many people still have water pipes into the lake so if you visit... DO NOT CONTAMINATE IN ANY WAY!!!... Cape Cod Village has sweet amenities like shuffleboard, badminton etc like they said. There is also a float to swim to and dive off of. I want to thank Todd and Sue for the "blow up mattress" it is actually an Aerobed! My husband and I slept on it and it was far superior to a little blow up mattress. The sun porch where we set it up was a little crowded but we made it work. Todd and Sue are very responsive and very nice. Good luck to them! It's hard around the lake because the taxes are so high!!!

Great spot for family vacation on Lake George

My family has been coming to Lake George for over 30 summers. This house, as part of Cape Cod Village in Hague, has the best beach and swimming area I've encountered on the lake, with a long sandy shallow area and a diving platform farther out. The playset and tree swing were a big hit with our kids. Our group was my wife and I, along with our two girls (5 and 8), and my mother. We had a terrific time during our stay in August 2021. At that time, the house was partway through a major renovation during our stay, which caused some issues (pests coming in, inconsistent A/C, lack of finishes) that hopefully will be resolved within the next few weeks/months. When complete, the updated/expanded bedrooms and bathrooms will make this great spot even better.

Great experience

We found the house exactly as it was described, perfect for 6 adults and 1 child. Nice location, right by the lake and surrounded by nature. Foliage was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was well equipped with everything you might need.

We used the property as a base for us to go out each day for sightseeing. It was perfect for doing that. The neighborhood was very quiet but the lake was not quite as close to the cottage as we thought it would be. No problem though, we just love being on the water. Our only problem was the TV, we did not like their choice of Roku and would have liked a regular TV. This time of year, it gets dark early, no one around, so what else to do but watch TV or read. I understand there were instructions for using it but I did not come across them. I am sure it is a great place for families to spend summer there.

Thank you very much for renting our cottage. Most places you will find smart TVs and streaming devices as cable has become so costly. The instructions were in our red binder on the hutch. I’m so very sorry you couldn’t locate them and sorry you had trouble with it. It does get some getting use to if you’re not familiar with them. I hope you enjoyed the lake and the surroundings of Hague. It’s a beautiful area for sure. Thank you again for renting and do hope you think of us again!

Nice quiet place

We all very much enjoyed our stay. The photos on Vrbo need to be updated. We purchased firewood,marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for everyone (except me, diabetic) to make S’mores but couldn’t do so for no fire pit. It didn’t matter to us but the sun porch looks different than the picture also.

Family vacation

Property was beautiful. All my grandkids wanted to do was roast marshmallows as ad said there was a fire pit. No fire pit, tell that to 3 & 4 year old. Also wanted to play cornhole as the board with holes was there but no bean bags. The lake was gorgeous.

Hi Sheila. Thank you very much for the review. There are bean bags. Not sure why you could not find them. We just played this weekend. They are right on the sunporch. Possibly they were in the big storage unit on the porch. I’m sorry you could not find them. Also, unfortunately we will probably need to obtain a propane fire pit as a couple of our older permanent residents (90+) are on oxygen and some of the smoke from our renters went into their cottages. I apologize as we love fires too!! Our grandchildren look forward to that as well so we completely understand. We are working on a solution with our association. I hope you consider coming back! Enjoyed our stay!

Todd and Sue's comfortable cottage is just a few steps from beautiful Lake George. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming, and we were happy to be away from the crowds. There was an error on the web listing that Todd and Sue quickly corrected to our total satisfaction. They are great hosts with a lovely property!

Cozy cottage enjoyed by all!

Enjoyed our stay very much. As a frequent visitor to the area, we prefer the northern parts of the lake best...so the location of the cottage was perfect. The cottage had all the amenities you could possibly need...was cozy and comfortable. The grounds of this small community are lovely and we were pleasantly surprised by the shuffle board/horse shoe/basketball courts and more. My grown family of five did it all! Todd and Sue were a pleasure to work with...and, communication was great. Very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend

Convenient, comfortable, lots to do

We spent a week at the cottage with my daughter and our two grandchildren, age six and seven. Fishing turned out to be their big passion for the week, with lots of sunfish and a few bass. The cottage supplied all sorts of indoor and outdoor games to keep them busy when not fishing, and up the road they found a putt putt golf course along with a super ice cream store. We rented the cottage for our grandchildren's vacation, and believe me they had a good one. Even an outdoor fire with smokers on two occasions. We may well come back.

Great Getaway

My family and I split this rental with another family and had a wonderful time. We had not been to Lake George in years and had almost forgotten how beautiful it is. Todd has the ideal set up. The house had everything you could possibly need and is a short walk to the waterfront. The community was extremely neat, quiet, and welcoming. We were even lucky enough to be there when they had live music on the beach. Thanks Todd for a wonderful escape! We look forward to our next visit. Paul B.

Great Place, Great Location

My family and I stayed here for a week and it was wonderful. The house came stocked with everything and anything you could imagine. The cottage was clean and perfect size for a large family. The amenities were also great! We had our own fire pit to roast s'mores at night, a grill, shared beach with a float, a shuffle board court, etc. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

Wonderful vacation on Lake George!

This is our third year on Lake George in Hague, our first at this property and we LOVED it! The 3 bedrooms and 2 baths suited our family well. Plenty of space, but still cozy enough to feel like we were spending time with each other. The cottage is clean and well cared for and you have a nice view of the water from the front. We loved the amenities the association had to offer and played lots of shuffleboard and pickle ball. The kids spent a lot of time on the beach (very nice and sandy) and swings. We woke up every morning for sunrise on the point, which was beautiful. It was surprising how quiet the neighborhood was given that it was the first week in August. Everyone was very friendly, but we didn't feel overwhelmed at all and often found ourselves alone on the beach. The water is beautiful, and the beach is nice and shallow for little kids. We don't have a boat, but if we did we definitely would have made use of the dock. Overall, a fantastic vacation and we'll be back!

Perfect Vacation Getaway

This was our first experience with renting from Todd and it was a pleasurable one. The cabin has every possible amenity that you can imagine and it feels like a home away from home. One of the things I like best about Cape Cod Village is that it has all kinds of activities for you and your family. We played volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, badminton, shuffleboard, and my son caught 10 bass from the dock the first day we arrived. It is also worth mentioning that the cabin has a cabinet full of board games for those rainy days. We rented the cabin for a week and it was the perfect size for my family. We had 4 adults/3 kids staying in the cabin but we had several other family members visit and there was plenty of seating. The one thing worth mentioning is there is a restriction on boats to less than 22 feet. I was unaware of this restriction and Todd was willing to go the extra mile to find us a place to park our boat. I hope your stay is a pleasurable as ours.
