Such a cozy home and a lovely, quiet little town. We wanted a quiet place to slow down for a few days in the middle of a long trek through the Iberian pennisula. This was perfect. We loved the fireplace and the farm views from the back patio. The beds were comfy, the decor so homey. And Paula the caretaker was great. Highly recommend!

What a cozy, quiet, beautiful place! It was clean and so cute, well stocked with everything we needed. We needed a few quiet days in the middle of a very busy trek around Portugal. We cooked and did laundry and snuggled by the fire. Perfect. We loved the views of rolling olive fields from the courtyard. So tranquil. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Great stay

Overall this was an excellent stay for us. Great jumping off point to explore the Alentejo region. Is as listed, very homey and comfortable. The only issue we had was check in. Once this was resolved, Paola was wonderful.

Cosy stay in the Alentejo

This well equipped, cosy cottage is exactly as the photos show. Everything you need to enjoy your stay, whatever time of the year. Great base to explore the Alentejo. Montoito is small but there's a supermarket, bank, bread shop and a couple of local bars.

Exellent accommodation and location for us

The house is lovely, with a beautiful view over the surrounding pastoral landscape from the rooftop terrace. The facilities are good, bedrooms comfortable, kitchen well supplied. The location in a small village east of Evora and west of Monsaraz is a very good base for exploring. Communication with the owners and leading up to check in could have been better.

Beautiful

We stayed with 2 adults and 3 kids. Absolutely loved, loved, loved the village. There's not much to do, but feels therefore like a real immersive experience in a small village. The local library has a play area for kids with lots of toys and games, free to use. The accommodation is comfortable, clean, has everything we needed. Very much appreciated the washing machine to catch up on laundry.

Not ready for our check in!

Very frustrating to have to wait nearly an hour for check in. Because of the very remote location, there was no where to kill the time in this deserted town. The house itself was kind of quaint. Not much in the way of cooking equipment. We made do.

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in dit knusse huisje in Montoito. De omgeving is rustig en ideaal om even helemaal tot rust te komen. Binnen is het ruim opgezet en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig, van een complete keuken tot fijne zitplekken. Het dakterras is echt een pluspunt; ’s avonds is het daar genieten van de sterrenhemel. Enige kleine tegenvaller: het bubbelbad bleek er niet te zijn, terwijl we dat wel hadden verwacht. Verder was alles perfect geregeld en hebben we erg genoten van ons verblijf.

L’expérience portugaise!

Tout a été très bien sauf un petit manque de communication avec le proprio qui s’est bien excusé. Bravo à Paula pour l’accueil et le départ. La cour est très relaxante à la fin de la journée de visite des environs. Merci!

Village authentique

Le gîte nous a d'emblée seduites. Refait en conservant ses caractéristiques, il est confortable. Les températures extérieures etaient de 35 degrés mais il garde la fraîcheur. Paula qui nous a accueilli est efficace et à l'écoute. La chaleur nous a empêché de profiter pleinement de cette region si typique qu'est l'Alentjo

A piece of paradise

This property is in a small village but worth staying at for its charm and peacefulness. You will need a vehicle but Evora is only a 20 minute drive away. This beautiful house has everything you need to make your stay feel like you’re at home. I could have spent my entire time there on the balcony overlooking the countryside. Simply put, a slice of heaven.
