RABASSO: Quaint and stylish cottage in the middle of nature

Admire the tranquility and colours of the Provence, as well as the splendour of the world renowned hilltop village of Gordes within a stone’s throw.

Our quaint cottage is nestled within a large manor estate, with simple but tastefully appointed decor it allows you to unwind and take in the rugged limestone cliffs, verdant valleys and rolling hills of ancient olive groves and vineyards around you. Approximately one hectare is reserved for your private enjoyment.

Featuring a cosy downstairs sitting room with well equipped kitchen, including oven, microwave, hob, fridge and freezer. The outside sitting area is equipped with an outdoor shower, sun beds, loungers and different seating options for enjoying lunch or dinner. Cosy, battery-operated evening lightning is provided.

Upstairs, we find a large and indulgent double bed, plenty of storage space and a television with satellite connection. A clean and functional bathroom with shower, toilet and sink is just next door. All towels and bedlinnen are provided.

The cottage has a basic internet connection. Built-in window mosquito nets are available in the bedroom. Babies can be accommodated but you should bring your own baby cot.

When out and about, there’s plenty to do; hiking, cycling (road and mountain biking), wine cellar tours, the antiques market in Isle sur la Sorgue, the Popes' Palace in Avignon, the Avignon Theater Festival, the Lacoste Festival (at the Château du Marquis de Sade, renovated by fashion designer Pierre Cardin), the Gordes Festival, the Roque d'Anthéron Festival, canoeing down the Sorgues River, the farmers' market in Coustellet and more (feel free to ask!).

Heavenly oasis in the woods

Raoul's house set in a secluded part of his land is a gorgeous little haven for a stay in Provence. The house is small, but the bed is full size and even my 6'8" husband was able to navigate the compact bathroom! With a bottle of delicious rosé left in the fridge by Raoul and good cooking facilities (lots of pots and pans and a hob, grill/oven and microwave etc) we were able to enjoy some heavenly evening dining al fresco in the June sunshine enjoying the early summer nature. A terrific bonus is the restaurant, Le Mas Tourteron which is literally located next door where one of France's finest female chefs prepares awesome fine dining for guests who are seated in the most beautiful walled garden - not cheap, but worth every penny! Open Weds - Sun, do book if you fancy treating yourself. Raoul left us to our devices, which was perfect, but we saw him again on leaving and he's a lovely friendly guy who speaks very good English. The house has reliable wifi, and a TV (but we didn't watch it so can't report on channels etc). The house is very close to Gordes and a large supermarket at Cousselet/Maubec. We can also recommend the Sunday farmers market in Cousselet which is also on Weds eves during the summer, and we had a terrific walk along the Falaise - rocky hilltops which we found online and which starts in the village of Lioux. This place is a treat and we would definitely return - cheers Raoul!

Vacances idéales dans un endroit très calme. Concernant l'arrivée, peut-être serait il judicieux de mentionner le restaurant Le Mas qui se trouve à l'entrée du chemin d'accès au Rabasso. Même si nous n'avons pas eu trop de difficultés en raison de la perspicacité de mon compagnon...

Aucun problème pour trouver l’entrée quoiqu’on ne la voie pas immédiatement. Dès la première maison (les cuisines d’un restaurant dont l’accès est un peu plus loin) on tourne et l’on est tout de suite dans un havre de paix. Notre première rencontre a été avec un magnifique lézard vert. Il n’y a pas de wifi mais à vrai dire, cela ne nous a pas réellement manqué.Le gîte est près de très jolies villes, mais très fréquentées aussi ce qui rendait encore plus appréciable le calme et l’isolement du gîte.Il y a tout le nécessaire au niveau de la cuisine, même huile, sel… dans le doute nous en avions prévu et en avions pris. Il ne manque vraiment rien.De même, dans la salle de bains, nous avons été surpris de trouver du shampooing et du gel douche. Tous les gîtes ne le proposent pas.Pour nous, l’expérience a été reposante dans un environnement exceptionnel. Nous ne connaissions pas le coin et nous avons réellement beaucoup aimé. Nous y retournerons à une autre période car si Gordes et d’autres villages environnants sont d’une extrême beauté, ils étaient envahis par les touristes et cela a gâché le plaisir de la découverte.Nous tenions à remercier notre hôte pour avoir été aussi réactif et répondu immédiatement et gentiment à toutes nos questions.

Rabasso ist ein ganz wunderbares, kleines und auf liebenswürdige Weise einfaches Refugium mit liebevollen, teils auch wirklich hochwertigen Details (wie einem neuen Backofen, hochwertigem Duschgel, guten Handtüchern und einer Designerlampe) in einer ganz wunderbaren Natur und ein guter Ausgangspunkt zu historischen Dörfern und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Wenn man will, gibt es ab Haustür eine erstaunliche Vogelvielfalt zu beobachten, die uns fasziniert hat (z.B. die seltene Blauracke, frz. 'Rollier d'Europe', außerdem Ziegenmelker, Pirol, Nachtigall etc.). Lustig ist auch, dass man im Rabasso ein tolles, chilliges Restaurant als Nachbarn hat und zu Fuß nach Hause kann. Raoul und seine Frau sind ganz entzückende, äußerst liebenswürdige Menschen und hatten tolle Tipps parat. Sein eigenes Olivenöl (dankeschön!!) ist Magie auf jedem Salat, sogar noch in Deutschland, und so denken wir immer an ihn. Es war einfach wunderbar und wir würden immer wieder kommen. Das Internet lief draußen in der Regel gut, vielleicht sollte man den Standort des Routers eher im vorderen Bereich des Hauses wählen, da Rabasso durch seine dicken Seitenmauern kein Wifi (WLAN) durchlässt. Die Umgebung war unter der Woche ruhig, am Wochenende etwas lebhafter, aber im Haus hört man nichts und fühlt sich jederzeit gut und sicher aufgehoben. Danke für die schöne Zeit, lieber Raoul.

Sehr entspannt umgeben von üppiger Natur

Es war unser erster Aufenthalt in Frankreich und wir haben es sehr genossen. Der Vermieter war sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft ist sehr liebevoll ausgestattet mit viel Liebe zum Detail, es fehlte an nichts und wir haben uns dort sehr aufgehoben gefühlt. Sollte es uns nochmal in diese Gegend verschlagen, würden wir wieder dort anfragen.Vielen Dank an Raoul und weiterhin alles Gute.

Séjour au vert

Nous avons apprécié le cabanon Rabasso pour sa tranquillité, tout en étant à proximité des sites de rando. Situé idéalement pour parcourir les différents villages du Luberon et visiter les sites remarquables.Le cabanon de Raoul est fonctionnel et Raoul nous a laissé un petit mot de bienvenue avec une bouteille d’huile d’olives de son cru.Très agréable séjour.

Joli cabanon et hôte parfait

Le cabanon est cosy et très agréable. Parfait pour 2 personnes. Transats, lits de jardin à l'abri sous les arbres. Idéal l'été. Hôte très agréable et attentif au bien-être des vacanciers. Gîte situé à 2,5km de Gordes. A recommander pour personnes aimant le calme et la nature. Petit hic: trafic routier et aérien... Merci Raoul pour tout !

We hebben genoten van het huisje met zijn vrije ligging. Het heeft alles wat je nodig hebt voor een verblijf van 2 personen. Het huisje lag lekker in de schaduw, met ervoor een mooi open grondstuk met enkele boompjes. In de omgeving is voldoende te doen, zowel actief als cultuur.

Veel privacy,prachtig grondstuk om het huisje. Het plaatsje een prima uitval basis voor mooie Provençaalse steden in de buurt. Voor fietsers ligt er vlak bij een Voie Verte van 40 km. Aardige en betrokken ontvangst. En als je van vogels houdt,kan je,je hart erop halen!

Un petit paradis de tranquillité !

Dans une région riche en possibilités touristiques, un gîte dans un endroit extraordinaire pour passer quelques jours en pleine nature, avec à la fois le soleil et la fraîcheur des arbres environnants. Tout a été fait par le propriétaire pour rendre notre séjour agréable.

Charmantes, kleines Ferienhaus. Liebevoll eingerichtet. Mit allem ausgestattet, was man im Urlaub benötigt. Vollständig eingerichtete Küche plus Waschmaschine. Zentrale, dennoch ruhige Lage um Unterschiedliches zu unternehmen: Kultur, Wandern, Wochenmärkte… was das Herz in der Provence begehrt. Ausgesucht höflicher Vermieter. Wir empfehlen das Haus gerne weiter.

"Retour à l'essentiel"

"Retour à l'essentiel". Petit coin de paradis dans la nature qui vous permet de revenir aux vraies valeurs, tout en étant proche des magnifiques petits villages provençaux haut perchés, des itinéraires vtt, vttae ou cyclo qui vous permettent de vous dépayser un max. Et pour ne rien gâcher, une multitude de petits restos sympas renseignés par le propriétaire. Mon épouse et moi avons adoré...
