We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay, and that you found it to be a "very nice cabin with plenty of DVDs and VHS tapes, which was a nice break from from wifi and streaming". That said; we're more than a bit concerned about your comment stating that you didn't receive check-in information prior to your stay. When a Guest books with us, they receive an e-mailed confirmation along with attachments that provide check-in instructions, a map with directions, and other pertinent information. This is an automated process. Our records indicate that you received these items on 12/25. Of course, our biggest concern is that someone may have hacked your e-mail addresses and/or is reading your e-mails without your knowledge or consent. Because of this, we strongly recommend that you change your e-mail address to assist in preventing potential reoccurrences. Hi Kelly: Thank you for your 4-star review for family Cabin #32. We are happy to hear that you found the cabin to be "cute", and apologize for the fact that you found some dead flies in the window sills, sand in one of the beds, and dust under the other bed. We've been having a real challenge with flies this season in our wooded mountain area...compounded by the fact that we are creating reservation and cleaning buffers between Guests due to COVID. The flies can happen quite quickly and at a time when the cabin is intentionally unoccupied. When the cabin was cleaned prior to your arrival, I actually was assisting the housekeepers, and have absolutely no idea where the sand came from. All of the linens were laundered and the beds were made prior to your stay, so that's a bit of a conundrum for us. I do apologize for the dust under the other bed. I believe that in our haste, we simply missed the mark. Please know that, (while we didn't hear from you at anytime during your 2-night stay) whenever there are concerns or questions in general, we are always just a quick phone call away (the cabin is equipped with a land line). We would have been more than happy to dispatch a housekeeper to resolve your concerns. Your point regarding the street sign it well taken, and we will have the bushes trimmed-up...thank you for pointing that out. Respectfully, Dan

Hi Heather: Thank you for your review for family Cabin #32. We sincerely apologize that anything was missed regarding housekeeping, and that the hot water was insufficient during your stay. Our vacation properties are inspected and concierged prior to every Guest arrival (you no doubt noticed that the outside light was turned on for you, the heat was turned up to a comfortable temperature, and the ceiling fan was turned on to circulate the warm air). I'm not sure how anything obvious could have been missed during that process, but apparently it was. As an agency, we have staff on call to remedy issues that may arise during one's stay. Curiously, we never heard from you at anytime during your 3-night stay until (via e-mail) at approximately 9:30pm on the last night of your stay. While the cabin is equipped with a landline, there is no wifi, so we're not sure how you were able to send off an e-mail. In situations where a deficiency is reported on a timely basis, but unable to be resolved, we are able to reach out to the property owners and request a refund. Depending upon the circumstances, they may or may not grant a refund...but we can always ask. In this situation; because no contact was made in a timely manner that would allow maintenance to provide assistance during your stay, the homeowner was unwilling to provide any refunds. On the other hand, the refund of the Cleaning Fee was something that we had control over, so we were able to provide that, even though there were no pictures taken or evidence left behind for us to see. Just an e-mail statement made at 9:30pm. We just took you at your word for that. Respectfully, Dan

Yes, good point; it is a rustic cabin with a smaller capacity hot water tank than some folks might find at their primary residence, so spacing out showers and other hot water usage is a must. Hi Kraig: Thank you for your review for family Cabin #32! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay, and that you found "the cabin (to be) very cozy" and that "the beds were comfortable". We will have a look at the hot water tank to see if there is a malfunction. It's important to note that it is a standard residential 50 gallon tank, so like most person's homes, the hot water supply is not unlimited...especially when taking back-to-back showers and running other appliances at the same time. The BBQ works just fine. The strikers tend to fail fairly quickly in our rain-forest environment, but using a BBQ lighter or long stick matches gets it started right up. As it states on the listing, there is no wifi available at the cabin and cell service is virtually non-existent in our wooded mountain area. That said; the cabin is equipped with a land line. Local (countywide) calling is free. Long distance can be accessed with a calling card. Thank you for the neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure.
