Thank you for staying with us! We are happy you enjoyed your family vacation! The 2 game rooms are always a favorite pass time at the Retreat. The mancave is ofcourse geared more for the adults while the downstairs lounge is for entertaining the youngsters with the board games, kid's card games and the classic childhood movies. For outside play the kids always enjoy the basketball hoop and the cornhole bean bag game. We hope to have you back again!

Thank you for your detailed 5* review! It sounds like the house was perfect for your family. Thank you for noticing that our property and neighborhood is exclusive and quiet. When searching for our home we felt that the lakefront properties were too close together and the waterfront areas can get very noisy during the summer months. We are in our own little world up here even though we are only1 street above lakefront. Kids always love having their own areas to hang out, (the lower lounge as mentioned) and the parents like that they have one too! You never know, if you come back during the warmer months the futon in the Man Cave just might work! (it's mostly there for a couch to use while playing pool etc.) I am also happy to report that we removed 4 sappy trees this month! 2 in the driveway and entrance area and 2 on the side of the house that hung over the BBQ deck. All entries are clear of drip and it added more view into the wooded acre that we own next door! A win win for all because it was really something that we needed to do for firewise preparedness. The trees were right next to the house. We have only owned this property for 3 years so are always improving and upgrading! Thank you for staying! We hope you make this a yearly visit!

Owner's note: We strive for perfection in customer service, guest comfort and satisfaction. To start, we are very proud of our beautiful, newly updated kitchen. It’s about 250 sq ft with loads of counter space, more cupboards then I can fill, a pantry, a coffee bar area and a large breakfast bar with barstools for conversation while preparing meals. (Picture #9) As per VRBO instructions we chose this particular image as our featured picture because we felt it to be the best representation of our property. It shows the home is 2 levels, the beautiful observation deck off the upstairs living room, the lower cocktail deck off the lounge & game room and the bbq deck on the side, off the dining room. Front of the house (2nd picture in our photo gallery) shows the drive way is wide and flat. We have a permit for 4 cars. There is a short incline at the beginning of the driveway to reach the street, since we are nestled below street level. (quiet & private). We recommend our guests with boat trailers to rent a slip space at the resort or to park in a turnout right above our property, (in view from the house). We have had jet ski trailers park in the driveway. When necessary, we set up any off street parking with our security office for added protection. We have around 25 rents a year and 10% of those bring boats. Our Man Cave (bonus game room) is separate from the house and can get warm if left closed up on a hot day. We would recommend opening the large window or the main garage door and to use the fans provided there, to move the hot air out. This is a beautiful mountain cabin on an acre of Lassen Forest land. We have left it natural, yet safely manicured to preserve the mountain feel and compatibility with the wild life that is so abundant in our area. I installed a bird bath outside the kitchen window for visual enjoyment and we made a trail leading down to a fairy circle on the property, where we have a picnic table, cocktail table & hammock, (a real hit!), with views of the lake. (Pic #20). Sleeping accommodations for 10. 1 king, 1 queen & 3 doubles (2 are futons). I have slept on one of the futons with my 6 foot husband and we were very comfortable. We are always improving our property and amenities where needed by doing research, listening to guest requests and reviews. Just this year we installed a full air conditioning system, an added comfort for our guests for those hot summer days! Another reason to choose Cedar Ridge Retreat!
