Great place in Yukutan

Amazing, private house with pool in a quiet town a short walk to the beach and a short drive to a prime swimming beach past Chuburna. Also a short drive to the Progresso boardwalk and beach. Near the city of Merida and lots of amazing ruins all over the Yukutan. Also lots of cenotes, which fabulous freshwater springs you can swim in.

We had a wonderful stay in the Yucatan. My daughter and I saw everything and did everything!!! The Casa del XiX is a beautiful beach house in a great part of Chelem and it made our stay so much more meaningful - es su casa - muy Bien! Thank you so much!

Great outdoor space

Steps away from the beach but not on the beach so no ocean views but plenty of outdoor spaces to relax. Comfortable beds, Upstairs bedroom is a loft up a spiral staircase. Come prepared with cooking supplies and toilet paper (no extras), no coffee or basics provided. Local artisan market on Tuesdays in Chelum was fun, local restaurant in Chelum Cristo Rey was fantastic. The beach by the marina in Churburna was the best beach for sunsets and walking with easy parking and walking on the beach.

La Casa del Xix for a week

We had a fantastic stay at La Casa del Xix. The palapa and Mayan pool were absolutely beautiful and we spent hours outside rocking in the chairs and swinging in the chair hammock. The pool was refreshing and cool, perfect for a dip after walking on the beach which was steps away. The house was exactly as it appears in the photos…gorgeous! Everything necessary was provided and we cooked almost all of our own meals. It was a very relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. Our host family of Jose, Maria Elena, Hiram and Josefina were very warm and welcoming. They met us upon our arrival and provided invaluable information to make our stay easy and comfortable. It was the perfect getaway!

Chill in Chelem

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at La Casa del Xix. Jose and his wife Maria Elena greeted us at our arrival and waved us good-bye at our departure and were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The property is charming, the pool fabulous, the palapa a perfect place to hang out, the beach only steps away and the WiFi worked great. Not so great was the water pressure in the showers and the kitchen equipment is very basic, but functional. The property is part of two other houses that share parking space with La Casa del Xix, and the palapa and pool are facing that common area but we never felt a lack of privacy. So, if you are looking for a laid back no frills vacation--this is your place.

A peaceful and homey oasis

The lack of five stars above on location and neighborhood only because this beautiful and comfortable oasis is hard to find in the dark, even with Jose's good directions. We advise arriving during daylight, if possible, but oh, the joy of arriving!! Jose and his family were there to welcome us with "Welcome to your home!" We delighted in the cleanliness, the private pool and patio and a well-equipped kitchen. The beach nearby is not a place to hang out; it tends to be windy and a lot of breakwaters are there. BUT there are many beaches to explore within easy driving distance. We enjoyed many hours of sitting and reading in the shade of the thatched roof patio. Great internet, too, if you are into that sort of thing. We felt very safe.

Excelente lugar para disfrutar vacaciones en familia

La casa es muy agradable , cuenta con todos los servicios, está en muy buen estado. Nos encantó q se encontrará tan cerca de la playa y tuviera una zona al aire libre para disfrutar sobremesas largas. Jose y Ma. Elena son muy amables y atentos, estuvimos muy contentos y satisfechos de elegir su propiedad para vacacionar.

Quaint Chelem Villa

Quirky and charming villa in Chelem close to public beach. Jose was a pleasure to communicate with and was very responsive. The house is great and the palapa is wonderful! I do wish it was a bit more private as the palapa and pool are at the front of the house which is also the parking area that is shared with 2 other houses. The house is a very short walk to the beach along the public access route that runs along side the property. As noted in the listing only the downstairs bedroom has AC, but the loft bedroom gets plenty of air flow through the sliding door to keep you cool at night. We did have a small ant problem so Jose provided some spray to use.

Quiet and Comfortable

My wife 2 sons ( 17 and 8 years old) and I stayed in this beautiful home for a little over a week. The house is very comfortable, quiet, surprisingly private, great amenities, comfortable beds, great water pressure, satellite tv, well supplied kitchen, beautiful terraces, beautifully landscaped with coconut filled palms, and more. Jose and family are wonderful hosts !!!! Gave great recommendations on restaurants in Chelem. We will definitely stay again . Thank you 😊 Shawn & Zuleyma Stryker

A wonderful house in a quiet area

We had a wonderful stay at LA CASA DEL XIX. The house is superb, well equipped, 3 steps from the sea and located in a quiet area. Chelem is not developed yet, so this is not a touristic destination. If you are looking to rest or for privacy, it is a great destination. Shopping and groceries can be done in Prospero, a small city near by. Our family had a very great time !

Beautiful beach house

Our stay at the Casa Del Xix beach house was relaxing, fun, very comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed using the front sitting area to eat breakfast and loved soaking in the gorgeous pool view throughout our time there. the top floor terrace was wonderful for watching the sunsets or star gazing at night. The accommodations were lovely and we leave already looking forward to the next time we return for a longer period of time.

A beautifully designed home on the beach

You will feel very comfortable at this house. José does everything possible to make sure you have everything you need. My favorite part of the house is that it is off the beach a ways, we stayed in late January and the wind was strong, but we were protected and comfortable. The palapa is beautiful and the pool is nice and cold. There are many places to sit and beautiful palm trees for shade. Chelem is a quiet town but there is an American owned restaurant called the bullpen and on the weekends a rock n roll cover band at El Martini. Not to mention all the cenotes, ruins and Mérida. We were very happy here and wish we had had more time

Estuvimos hospedados por 3 dias en la casa del Xix y para mi familia y para mi fue una grata experiencia, la casa es hermosa, con una piscina y palapa preciosas y lo mejor ubicada a pasos del mar! Los dueños siempre atentos y amables en todo el proceso de renta, en resumen 100%recomendable elegir la Casa del Xix en Chelem :)

Exactly as advertised. A beautiful little casa!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa del Xix. It is a beautiful little home in Chelem clustered with two other homes owned by the same owner. Casa Del Xix is on the road, not the beach, but the beach is only 20 feet away and you can hear the waves without getting the salt spray hitting your windows, so you can sleep with the windows open all night. Mauricio and his father were a joy to work with and were gracious and accommodating. The property was clean, well maintained and exactly as pictured.

A stylish and comfortable vacation home

The Pinto family have created a wonderful space for reflection and play. The open plan of the kitchen and living area, with its high ceiling, gives plenty of space for gathering inside, while at the same time there is a private balcony with sunset view. The two bedrooms are nicely furnished. and very private. Add the pool and shady cabana areas, and you have your own resort -- just a minute's walk to the serene white sand beach. Highly recommended for families or couples. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay!!

Casita was our home.

Casita del Xix became our home for the month of January. It was very comfortable and we were able to relax comletely both inside, and especially, outside. The swimming pool and area under the palapa were where we spent much of our time. We felt very safe and secure in the Casita and in the area. Mauricio and Jose were welcoming and pleased to share their lovely home. They were within reach when we had questions or required guidance or assistance, yet gave us complete privacy. The area is not without its challenges. English is not widely spoken, and some facilities (i.e. laundry) are elusive. A car is an abolute essential. With a vehicle, many amenities and world class attractions are within easy reach. The local people are patient and helpful, and a visitor needs to be accepting and patient in turn. We are already considering a return as early as next year. We enjoyed it that much.

Chelem is a unique little fishing village 30 min from Merida. Our stay at La casa del Xix has been a wonderful experience, the house and its surroundings are just as nice as the photos. While at the house we spent most of the time in the pool :) We highly recommend not only this house but any of Mauricio's homes. The entire family is amazing. Yucatan is a lovely state, with so many places to visit and food is amazing, which was the primary reason of our travel. Eating pescado frito almost every day was the highlight. Merida is a must see town as well, but don't be afraid to explore other little towns such as Uxmal and Mani, its also a home to the best poc chuch restaurant Tutul-Xiu. If you want to get a true essence of Yucatan, it's people and culture this is a place for you, BUT if you need luxury and pampering then one of the Cancun hotels would be a better option.

la casita del xix es como un lugar de fantasia. la vista al mar, la alberca, es bien comoda para familias grandes. gracias a mauricio y su papa por facilitarnos su casa nos recibieron como si fueramos familiares bueno asi es todo yucatan mexico la gente bien amable desde que llegue al aeropuerto en merida la gente te recibe con los brasos abiertos. a todos mis paisanos en los estados unidos les recomiendo que visiten yucatan mexico ya que es como el paraiso y el lugar numero uno en seguridad. y si llegan a visitar la casita del xix se van a querer vivir permanente aqui. Great secluded brach!

We had a wonderful experience at this house! The owners were really helpful and were available for anything we needed. The house has everything you need and the beach is really calm during the morning hour s to enjoy a nice swim. By noon you will start getting a breeze that is very welcome and it will just make the house fresh throughout the day. They suggests to keep all your windows open so the breeze can come through and it really makes a difference. You do need to make sure that you stock up well with groceries either in Progreso or Merida since this small town has very little to offer other than then small "tiendas" you find in every corner, which are fine for snacks or drinks but not much real food. There are also a few fish shops in Chuburna where we ended up buying a delicious fried fish thee times during our stay. This is a great spot to just relax and enjoy miles of white sand beaches where you will seldom run into other people. A car is a must since there is not much you can get to by walking. Also make sure you bring bug repellent since they get pretty "audacious" at dusk. Thanks Mauricio and his dad Jose.

Lovely stay at La Casa del Xix

We had a lovely stay at La Casa del Xix. The home was designed by the owner with much care and style. He was very accomodating. It was quiet and felt private. Chelem was a short car ride as well as Progresso. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing get away. The water is beautiful and water warm. I know we are planning to come and stay again and rent all three homes!
