We stayed here for four days in July, 2015. The Balinese staff are amazing. However, I would be very careful about renting from this expat owner. There was construction going on right next door during our entire stay. The owner apparently knew about it when we booked, but failed to warn us. Therefore, there was constant noise. On our fourth and final day, there was a very loud generator running all day until about 9pm. One of our group was ill with food poisoning that day, and could not escape the noise. At around 7:30pm, in the pitch dark, we asked the construction workers to stop the noise. One of them threw a metal bucket down from the roof towards us. It narrowly missed my teenage daughter's head. We contacted the staff at their cell phone numbers, and they were very apologetic, but said not to contact police. The owner of the property was away in Cuba and could not be reached. Two of us emailed her, and one of the staff contacted her. We waited for her response, and after more than two weeks following her return from Cuba, we emailed her again. She apologized after this second email, explaining that she had just returned and knew all along about the construction, but did not know what impact it might have on guests. One of our group suggested some sort of financial reimbursement, but she did not respond to that suggestion. Overall, a very disappointing response from the property owner to what was a very negative and dangerous experience for us.
