Extremely disappointing. We left this villa 5 nights early because we no longer felt comfortable staying there.The property was very different from the impression given by the listing photos. It was tired and poorly maintained, with chipped furniture/cupboards, damaged décor, a ripped pool enclosure, weeds and staining around the pool area, and screws protruding from air vents.Worse was the cleanliness. We found insects on bedding and towels, then numerous tiny insects crawling over the kitchen worktops and in the master en suite. The floors were so dirty our bare feet became filthy and we had to wear shoes indoors. The master toilet also blocked.On arrival, kitchen cabinets had just been painted and were still wet, resulting in paint getting on our hands and clothing.We documented everything with photos/videos and contacted the host immediately. Although initially apologetic, the problems became so extensive that we chose to leave and pay for alternative accommodation rather than spend our holiday dealing with cleaners, pest control and maintenance.We were told our refund request for the 5 unused nights would be reviewed. Weeks later, despite repeatedly chasing and being asked for more time, the host is now ignoring our messages.We gave every opportunity for this to be resolved privately. Sadly, both the condition of the villa and the handling of our complaint have been unacceptable.
