Beautiful, historic home on a lovely lot in close proximity (about 15 minutes) to Bar Harbor. I could've spent all day long on the patio or around the fire pit. Be aware that the house is over 100 years old and therefore has a couple of quirks- the stairs are a bit steep, and the shower/tub is a little awkward as it has been converted from a clawfoot tub.

The cottage was amazing! Clean, well-stocked with everything we needed, close to Bar Harbor and southwest harbor and steps to Cadillac mtn south ridge trail head. Very homey!

Great location! Everything in the description was on point! Got to meet Amanda (the host) because she was cleaning one of her other cottages - shows her vested interested in her cottages - easy to communicate with - she had lights on when we arrived making the cottage very welcoming - a great place to stay!

Lovely Stay at Blackwoods Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this adorable cottage during our trip to Acadia! It was the perfect size for our group of four, and there would have been plenty of space for a few more. The decor was charming with such cute cottage/cabin vibes throughout, and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.The location was amazing. We were within walking distance of the Cadillac South Ridge Trailhead, which we hiked one day and absolutely loved. We also explored the Beehive and The Bowl, as well as other nearby trails like the Gorge Path and Murray Path. After long days of hiking, we relaxed around the fire pit and soaked in the peaceful surroundings.Bar Harbor was just a short drive away, and we enjoyed a few evenings there grabbing dinner and shopping. One of our favorite finds was a local store just up the road in Otter Creek, where we picked up delicious lobster rolls.Amanda was a fantastic host who was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and convenient home base while exploring Acadia!

Incredible Acadia Vacation

The Blackwoods Cottage is exactly as it appears in photos and the host is very thoughtful and attentive. There are plenty of fans available as well as a charging station at each bedside.The house was clean and well stocked with towels, pots/pans, utensils and dishes.I would recommend the Blackwoods Cottage to family and friends.

Perfect cottage experience in Acadia

The Blackwoods Cottage was absolutely perfect for our family. Full of charm and all the amenities you need for a perfect stay. The cottage is conveniently located for quick access to Bar Harbor and to various access points to park loop road. Indoor spaces are well laid out and full of whimsy and immaculate. Kitchen is fully stocked with great counter space. Porch and outdoor spaces are well gardened and just beautiful. Fire pit is perfect for gathering after a long day of hiking to share stories about the day. We also loved the quick walk across the street to access trails to Eagles Crag and Cadillac loop. Amanda was wonderful and provided many recommendations for fun and exploration of the island. We highly recommend and will be returning!

Delightful Historic Cottage

We had an absolutely delightful stay at this cottage. It has some old world quirks, which we thought made the home even more adorable. The location is perfect, the furniture is cozy and the firepit is just right. We'd love to stay here again!

Clean and Charming

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this spotless clean and charmingly decorated cottage. We even had fresh flowers greeting us in a couple rooms. The cottage is in a great location convenient to Acadia attractions.

Great location for a trip to Acadia!

We found Blackwoods Cottage to be in a great location for a lot of hiking trails and very close to all the activities in Bar Harbor. The cottage was very tastefully decorated and stocked with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the use of the very large front porch. Amanda was quick to respond to any questions we had. We highly recommend this property.

Perfect spot!

We had a lovely time at Amanda’s. She’s super helpful and has made a cozy home! It had everything we needed and was quite clean. It's in a perfect location to explore Acadia and Bar Harbor. Definitely consider the Cadillac summit trail as you can easily walk to the beginning. Lots of thoughtful touches and comfort that made this home a wonderful place to stay!

Perfect Cottage

We loved our week at Blackwood Cottage. It was so cozy and cute. It was stocked with everything we needed. We so enjoyed our late afternoons on the side porch. Nice size yard with a fire pit. It’s in the perfect location to get around the park. We are already thinking about when to come back. Amanda was the perfect host!

Gorgeous Cottage in ideal location

This was our family’s fifth trip to Acadia/Bar Harbor. We wanted to stay somewhere that was close to town by also to the major attractions of Acadia. The cottage itself was a perfect size for our family of 4 plus our dog; it was clean and spacious. My kids especially enjoyed watching movies at night on VHS! Amanda was a fantastic host, replying quickly to messages and assisting when needed. An added bonus for those who hike was that the South Ridge trail of Cadillac mountain was just yards away, no need drive anywhere or worry about parking. We’d love to stay here again on our next visit!
