Our stay at Lake Ashmere was fabulous. Very restful spot with wonderful lake views

We stayed here while dropping our son at school. Very easy to access and very private. Restful property with great lake views! Owners were fabulous!

This apartment is in an amazing location, looking over a peaceful lake. I found the apartment in immaculate condition and the owners to be very pleasant, helpful people. The area was very quiet day and night and the surrounding area very scenic.

Great Experience!

Nancy and Brian were more than helpful, gracious and generous. The apartment was lovely, decorated beautifully, clean and comfortable. Any question or concern was quickly answered. The view of the lake from the deck and living room was calming and the lake was at our footsteps.

Quiet lake view

Lovely private apartment, well equipped, and the hosts were very quick to respond to any little questions. I highly recommend this place for those who enjoy peace, calm, rainbows over the lake, and even a surprise fireworks show from the camp across the lake.

A Little Piece of Heaven

We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend at Nancy and Brian’s beautiful property! The lake is truly a little piece of heaven and my husband and I had fun fishing and kayaking. My husband was brought right back to his childhood when he caught a pretty big bass, about 4lbs / 20 inches, while fishing lakeside. The lakefront apartment included everything we needed for a comfortable and cozy stay and was exceptionally clean, updated, and well-organized. We really enjoyed exploring museums and restaurants in the surrounding towns. The veranda at Table Six @ Kemble Inn was beautiful and the Renoir exhibit at The Clark was a real treat. Just the perfect weekend getaway! We look forward to our next visit!

Relaxing gem

We had a wonderful time and were able to relax! The property is actually better than the pictures showed. Nancy greeted us when we arrived and made us feel welcome. Pittsfield, which has many restaurants and stores, is just a short drive away. We would definitely like to return for another getaway!

Exactly what we needed

Exactly as listed and exactly what we were looking for and needed. A perfect location to explore the Berkshires or just hang out and relax. Last but not least, Nancy and Brian are amazing hosts. This place is a no brainer.

All eight reviews that precede this one are spot-on, as are all of the pictures of the apartment. My husband and I used the apartment as home base for seven nights to go to Jacob's Pillow, the theater in Pittsfield, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. An easy trip to all, with Williamstown the longest drive at about 40 minutes on pretty, winding country roads. The apartment captures the sunlight and lovely lake breezes thanks to multiple windows. We only used the air conditioner one night while the rest of Massachusetts to the east was baking. The construction is solid with higher-end finishes, including wide pine floors and surround sound in the living room; attractive stonework in the super-clean shower; and ample closets (don't bother to bring extra hangers -- they've even thought of that!). We would return without a second thought.

Super clean, great location, as advertised

We hoped to find a convenient, comfortable location in the Berkshires and this rental was everything we wanted. We were there just a few days but could have easily stayed longer! It’s very accurately depicted in the listing., well appointed, and a perfect setting to enjoy the scenery. It’s just far enough from town that it feels rural yet close enough to grab supplies or go out to eat. We appreciated the hospitality!

Lovely lakeside apartment

The owner was very nice, but definitely not intrusive. The apartment is over a garage that is not attached to their house, but set apart a bit. Apartment was very clean and well-appointed- just the right size for my husband and me, and we were able to store our kayaks by the owners'. It was lovely to have a property overlooking the lake. I'm of the opinion that when expectations are managed well, one is more likely to have a good experience. In the spirit of sharing- it's a beautiful property and well-maintained. It's not remote- it's set near a country road, so there are street lights and some light traffic- certainly nothing that disturbed us, but if you're looking for solitude, this place is not remote. Both sides of the lake are navigable, and quite pleasant for kayaking. More powerboats on the larger side of the lake. More pontoon boats on the smaller side (where the apartment is located). Restaurants are about 5-10 minutes away. We had a lovely stay.

Private and relaxing getaway on the lake

The apartment was very clean and modern located right at the edge of the lake. The apartment is in a separate building located over a garage so you are the only tenant making it a very private, peaceful getaway. There is a balcony overlooking the lake which was a great place to sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine.The owners, Nancy and Brian were great and very responsive to my request to stay and questions about the apartment. The king size bed was very comfortable. They have cable and WiFi and my cell phone reception was excellent.The apartment is also air conditioned. The full kitchen made it easy to have meals in if you wished.There were kayaks and SUPs for us to use and the lake was fun to explore. We had breakfast one morning and dinner one evening at Ozzie's Steak and Eggs right in the town center and the service and food was great. Although you feel like you are really out in the country by the lake you are only 15-20 minutes from Pittsfield and other towns where there are lots of stores, cinemas and fun things to do. My wife and I had a great time and would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Great Place

Property was beautiful - everything in great condition, bright, airy, air conditioning and washer/dryer were super to have. Hosts were friendly and accomodating. Easy access for our canoe to the lake. Lot's of great restaurants and towns to explore nearby. Tanglewood was a stone's throw away. :) A dock specifically for renter use would be an awesome addition. Overall a lovely time!
