We were quite pleased with the accommodation at the Maui Eldorado with a few minor exceptions.
On the plus side, the unit was clean and ready for our arrival, and the security staff were able to let us into the apartment when we arrived late in the evening. Registering the next day was easy and the "welcome briefing" by Kia, the concierge, was great. We've been to Maui several times previously but still learned about activities that we'd not done before and things to avoid too.
Also on the plus side, the overall grounds were great and we made use of the cabana frequently, getting rides back to the unit when we were finished for the day. We took advantage of the "Mai Tai Thursdays" in the reception area both Thursdays that we were there. Kai was most helpful in booking activities for us, calling us when an opening came up for a sailing trip to Lanai.
The kitchen area, while small, had all the appliances, pots, pans, etc., we needed to prepare and cook meals when we chose to eat in rather than out.
We took advantage of the Kaanapali Trolley that runs throughout the Kaanapali Beach area to get to Whalers Village and hotels on the strip. We also went to the local "Fairway Shops" for supplies and the occasional meal.
On the downside and as others have mentioned, the unit is quite close to the parkade so there was noise both late in the evening and early in the morning from honking cars and beeping carts. (Why do people need to press the lock button more than once when locking their cars?) The activities above the parkade (shuffleboard, pool, bocce ball), were sometimes noisy - being there on St. Patrick's Day didn't help - but were generally quiet given the quiet-time restrictions.
We also found the king bed's mattress to be a little hard so my wife woke with backaches most mornings. Perhaps a replacement may be in order at some point.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Maui Eldorado and would consider that location for a future trip.
