Yes, the view really is something special and the pool is a great asset for cooling down in the hot weather. Thank you for pointing out that a car is needed, although there are regular taxi's to and from Bigova - I strongly recommend that guests hire a car as Montenegro is such a beautiful country to explore.

Bigova really is the perfect location - with all the qualities of an idyllic fishing village, yet like you say easy to visit Kotor and surrounding areas such as Tivat, Lusticia and Budva. I have visited regularly since 2006 and still love it - there is so much to see and do in Montenegro and finding the perfect location for my villa top of my list of priorities. Many of my guests return in future years to have another memorable holiday - you are always welcome back any time.

Thank you for advising that some of the kitchen tools need refurbishment, it's always useful to hear from guest about anything needing to be replaced. At the end of every season I visit and carry out a full inspection, so I will pay particular attention to this area and replace any worn items. Unfortunately, the pool filter pump broke down sometime between the previous guests departure on 19th July and this guests arrival on 21st July. This was discover by my agents and pool maintenance team when they arrived to prepare for this guests arrival. Both myself and my team went out of our way to source a new pump, making an 8 hour round trip to collect it and then working endlessly until the pool was up and running - within 30 hours (late afternoon on 22nd) the pool was fully functional and sparkling clean. These guests were advised upon their arrival (late morning of 21st) of the unforeseeable breakdown, both by my agent in person at the villa and receiving an apology message from myself and an assurance that everything possible would be done to get the pool up and running. At the time they appeared to be very understanding, commenting that they too rented out a holiday home and so understood how frustrating it is when things go wrong. My agent reported that the guests had settled in with no further issues. The following day they informed me that the villa was not clean and sent some photos of the dirty pool, some spiders on the outside of the house, the start of a bee's nest on some 'spare' loungers that were store for larger parties of guests and some crumbs in the oven (which my agent assures me were not there on their arrival). Interestingly, there were no photos of the inside of the villa, bathrooms, bedrooms, stairs, living areas, mirrors, windows, showers, floors, kitchen areas etc - which I would have expected if the villa had been as dirty as their review suggests. It is surprising that they chose to spend 2-3 hours of their own time when they could have contacted my agent who would have addressed the issues immediately and apologised, or they could have highlighted these issues upon check-in. During their stay, these guests were constantly contacting my agent - asking for taxi's, boat trips etc to be arranged, but never once questioning the condition of the villa....... very strange!! Having investigated with my agent, and in view of the fact these guests didn't report the issues, it does appear questionable that this guests review of the cleanliness is accurate, and that they were upset with the pool situation so took it upon themselves to 'look ' for other issues. Sadly, it didn't end there - my agents reported these guests left the villa in the worse condition they had ever seen, commenting that the fridge had water melon juice running everywhere, the dishwasher was left full of dirty crockery and the oven needed a deep clean, these guests also used (or took) everything that they possibly could, with the villa being 'stripped' of toilet rolls, BBQ coals/firelighters, cleaning products and sundry supplies such as oils, salt, sugar, teabags etc. I have always provided many items to help guest who may arrive too late for the shops, all other guests have replenished items as a matter of courtesy. The final issue was with the return of the damage deposit - these guests pursued me for a £300 deposit that they never made! They left credit card details with Vrbo as security against the damage deposit, which wasn't used and so no funds were taken. Eventually I had to ask a representative at Vrbo to email the guests directly to make it clear that they hadn't paid any damage deposit and so were not due anything back. I chose not to review these guests, as, in view of the unforeseeable loss of the pool for 30 hours, I don't feel it would have been fair to give the review they deserved based on the evidence I was provided with along with the issues I experienced afterwards with the 'non-existent' damage deposit. However, I would strongly recommend other hosts to proceed with caution.

Lovely weather, lovely views. The villa is great & we had a great bbq one evening. The ladies at the local shop are lovely. We ate out several times in the restaurants. We visited a water park in Budva (well worth a visit) & went to Kotor twice. The climate is brilliant, a breeze allows you to stay out all day. The shallow pool’s the way forward, all were able to read books & remain cool at all times. Love Vranac–Excellent wine” Feedback from my agents on your arrival: “Guests arrived, they have no car, we showed them the local shop, restaurants & a boat that offers trips. They asked about removing their garbage, we offered to come by car & remove it for them. They look very happy” Day 9- you called my agents at 7pm as the first floor was flooded, they arrived promptly to find water all over the middle floor coming up through the shower, they tried to clear the blockage but had to call a plumber. It took 4 hrs to clean up & clear the blockage, caused by face wipes. The toilet needed removing & the pumping of drain rods forced ‘dirty water’ into the house causing a horrid smell & ‘tide’ marks on the walls. You told my agent none of you would have put wipes in the toilet as you had been to Montenegro before & understood the drainage system. It is commendable of your daughter to own up & I admire her honesty. I had no guests after you but had to ‘block out’ my calendar for the rest of the season. In emails between us I gave a breakdown of costs, sent photos of the damage & offered to refund anything left after costs, unfortunately I couldn’t as they were almost twice the deposit you paid, at this stage (weeks after your return) you posted your review. Re other points: I’m honest with potential clients & would rather say if my villa is not suitable for any reason than have unhappy guests. There’s 4 good sized bedrooms. Floorplans are in the photos on this website for guests to see if the layout is suitable before booking. Many parties larger than 8 enjoy the space–check out the reviews, in particular - Hanna S, 29th June 16 (14 people) Reviews show many people enjoyed wonderful holidays since 2007 with 100+ parties staying & this is the first time I have ever withheld a deposit Future guests are assured all repairs will be completed by 2018

Er erklärte, er habe nicht gewusst, dass Sie diesen Bereich nutzen würden, da Ihre Gruppe nur zu viert sei. Deshalb habe er nur den Hauptteil des Hauses vorbereitet, der mit drei Schlafzimmern und drei Badezimmern ausreichend Platz für sieben bis acht Personen bietet. Er entschuldigt sich und sagte, er hätte das Problem sofort gelöst, wenn er es gewusst hätte. Dieses Missverständnis tut mir sehr leid. Ich habe dafür gesorgt, dass mein Makler die gesamte Villa für alle zukünftigen Gruppen vorbereitet, unabhängig von der Personenzahl. Thank you for your great review, it was a pleasure to have a party of guests arranging a get together from different parts of the world. The villa is my home from home and I love to hear of special times that others are able to share in it. I choose Bigova for it's ideal location, with Tivat, Kotor and Budva all being with in easy reach, and just fell in love with the view from my villa. You are so right, the fish and seafood in the local restaurant is fantastic, when I visit with my boys they often go down to the harbour to watch the fishmen bring in their catches and have even been allowed to help them in the past! It was a pleasure to have you as guests and I was more than happy to be able to accommodate your various arrival times, being from a customer service background it is very important to me that all guests needs are met and expectations exceeded.
