Wonderful

The condo was wonderful, the view incredible. The beds were so comfortable. The kids loved the beach even though it was too rough with rip currents and high tide warnings all week. The pool and hot tub were great.

Great vacation!

Loved this property! View was amazing and location was perfect. The beach and beach service were spectacular. Our condo was just as described and perfect for our family. Beds were super comfy! Definitely recommend this condo/location!

Family trip!

The condo was great! It did have a little bit of mildew smell but we sprayed febreeze! The beds were SO comfortable!! The end unit was nice less people passing your door and it was close to the garbage shoot! The beach was so close!!! My kids loved the jacuzzi tub!! It’s close to everything!!! The carpets could use a good cleaning but overall very nice stay!!!

Reviewer Comments: The condo was really nice.We only had one issue that seemed to put a damper on our stay.The microwave didn't was such an inconvenience having to go to our family's condo to heat up our was a blessing that they traveled with us.We told the front desk and she said we would have to call the 3rd party we booked with.When we booked we called the phone number that's on the website that we've called for the past 13 years or so.With young kids it was really hard feeding them every 45 minutes to a hour.We had a lot of microwaveable food just for the kids for convenience.We started to buy a microwave but didn't have the room to bring it back home with us.

The person that I booked this condo through at Brooks and Shorey was very helpful and courteous and made sure all was well upon our arrival and during our stay. The unit was very clean and spacious and the location was great. The bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable and the unit was very tastefully decorated. The view was great and I loved the wrap around balcony. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a place that is quite and very enjoyable. Myself and my family will definitely look forward to staying here again

our check in was a little delayed on receiving it after 4:00 pm. We felt the room was not cleaned sufficient, because there was a beer can sitting in bedroom. NO broom in condo.

As far as the broom it may have been broken and removed from the unit and had not been replaced yet or removed by owner. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Being almost 70 the beds were a little high and that jetted tub was awful getting into and out of. Kitchen was good and well stocked. Would have like the ice maker turned on but didn’t take to long to start making ice. The view was beautiful. Had a few issues in the pool with kids throwing water bottles and pop corn at us while we were in the pool and sitting in the chairs. Told the people at the desk and which room it was coming from and they talked to them right away. It was a very relaxing and much needed trip.

Much needed Beach Vacation

The view from the balcony was awesome and it was peaceful just sitting and listening to the ocean! I love how you are right on the beach and you can go back to your condo as needed! I love the blue water and white sand! I could just sit on the beach all day and listen to the waves! It is not too crowded either. I would definitely book this condo again!There are a few things that you need to make you bring with you. If you are going to cook, you need to bring salt, pepper and any other spices you use as you are only given a few salt/pepper packets. Also, you are only given one roll of paper towels and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, so if you would use more, you will have to bring it or go buy some. You also are only given two trash bags, so you may want to bring some if needed or use some grocery bags.We ate at Stewby's and Lost Pizza Co and they were both good. There is a Walmart and Target within 7 miles, but with the traffic it takes about 20 minutes to get there.We had a great vacation and I am already looking forward to coming back!

Due to construction issues, our condo selection was changed twice. The agency contacted us and made every effort to accommodate and keep us happy. It was frustrating but was to our benefit.. Check-in/out process was super easy. The app was a nice touch & very helpful. Loved the Xplorie free movies as part of our rental agreement. Beach service with chairs & umbrella is fantastic. We never had trouble finding an available set. The Pelican Isle condo was great — clean, maintained, fully stocked. This was a 2nd floor unit above the pool & hot tub. Sitting on the balcony means you listen to all if the pool activity. Bed & pillows were comfy.

Beautiful unit, if only they cleaned better

The unit itself is beautiful. The view is amazing and beds are comfortable. This was unfortunately overshadowed by the lack of cleaning and maintenance. The closet had multiple sand covered items left by previous renters. There was still sand throughout the unit when we checked in. Every dish in the cabinets was dirty, the silverware in the drawers was dirty with some still having food stuck to them. One of the toilets had a handle that was broken and just dangling (we fixed it). The washing machine had black mold in it. And the jacuzzi tub struggled to keep up with hot water. Overall im highly disappointed to have these issues after being charged a cleaning fee. We paid nearly 3k to stay here for a week and they dont seem to have done anything cleaning before we checked in aside from changing the sheets

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although it was chilly and cloudy outside, our stay was beautiful. The condo was perfect and very clean, smelled clean and had all the utensils and dishes you would need. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The condo was the perfect location and close to a lot of different things to do. It was a very short drive to Destin if you are wanting to do all of the tourist stuff. We got the family steamer ( large amount of food: crab legs, shrimp, crawdads, muscles, sausage, potatoes, corn) at Stewbys that was right up the road that was delicious and highly recommended. The snowballs at Dewey Destin on the bay were delicious and such a cute area. The view of the Gulf and the beach from the condo was beautiful. Perfect to drink morning coffee on the balcony and just soak it all in watching and listening to the waves. We loved that we had direct access to the beach and water. While we were there the beach was not crowded at all. It was very peaceful and quite. There was no issues with the codes to get into condo or pool area. We were very satisfied overall and would most definitely stay again!

In need of maintenance & updating.

Property is in need of a serious deep clean, update & repaint. Couches are stained and sagging with tattered pillows. The carpets and baseboards were all filthy. Condo smelled musty and moldy so bad we had to go to store and buy febreeze spray, plug-ins and candles. My sister is allergic to mold and every morning she woke up sick, was fine after we left condo. My 5 year old niece ended up with MASSIVE bruises on her shins and scraped palms after not seeing the 4"-5" metal lip on the sliding patio glass door. There was a tiny sign above the handle and worn off red tape as a warning. The sign disappears behind the curtain when the patio door is open. We opened the door and in her excitement to see the beach she ran forward, tripped on the metal and skidded across the concrete balcony. Fantastic way to start our trip. Then let's talk about hot water for showers, well, the lack of hot water for showers that is. You get enough hot water to take the edge off of the chilly water. The washer was full of mold and smelled like vinegar, when running a load it would thump like it was going through the floor (no the load was not off balanced or over loaded). The ladder for the bunk beds was not attached properly. The tiles in the hallway sounded hollow like they were ready to pop up as you walked on them. The best things about this condo are the location to the beach, trash shoot and stairs; the water views; beach service; heated pool and hot tub; condo size and wifi; check out process. I didn't want to write this review and sound like a complainer, but I also didn't say everything was good. This condo has the potential to be great, it just isn't.

All of the units at the Pelican Isle have the hurricane strap by the balcony door. It prevents the water from coming into the unit during heavy rain and severe weather. I am sorry that your child got bruises and scrapes. Each unit has an own water heater with capacity of 40 gallons, that is sufficient for the size of the condo. We are glad that you found positives about the property. It truly is a great location with amazing views and amenities.

Great location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was great. The condo was as described. The kitchen was well stocked, the kung mattresses were ok but would recommend replacing. The A/C worked well other than in the room as you enter the condo, it stayed pretty warm.

Nice unit but would probably pick a different one for next stay

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice clean unit. My only complaint was that the a/c didn’t seem to cool the back part of the condo. Granted the unit is on the west side of the building so it takes a lot on sun in the evenings. The back bedroom has a huge sliding window on that side and seemed to be so much warmer. Positives are it’s close to the trash chute, easy access to beach and good view of pool. Beds are comfy!

Great Beach Location

Great location with easy access to the beach. There is nothing but sand between you and the water. Close to everything in Fort Walton and 15 minutes from Destin.

Fall 2021

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sadly, I could not recommend Unit 218 to another guest. The furnishings in the living/dining area were in poor condition. The dining table had legs that were rusted. In the kitchen, the refrigerator was small and the area between the sink and the granite was black. The sinks in the bathrooms had the same problem with a black growth. The carpet needs to be replaced and a THOROUGH CLEANING needs to be done in the entire unit. The temps during our stay was upper 70s to mid 80s. The air conditioner did a fair job at these temperatures, but I cant imagine it would cool satisfactorily in 90-100 degree temperatures. I would suggest Brooks and Shorey inspect the unit regularly.

Wonderful vac

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was beautiful and the location was also great. When I first got my reservations I had to change my wk of vacation and they were very promp to returning my email and helping me plan another week. Emails was always return to me asap with any questions I had. The room was ready right on time. It was so hot the week we were there in July that the other thing I can complain about is the bedroom we had was a little warmer than I liked it but that was the room that was further from the heat pump. So if you like a cooler bedroom be sure you stay in the one by the kitchen. The balcony and the view was breath taking. Heck of a drive from WV but worth it.
