Life on an island

One of the most relaxing vacations, our family has had in years. A tranquil idyllic setting, crystal clear, blue water, soft sand, a completely private retreat. Everyone left totally relaxed with smiles smile on their faces. We'll definitely return to this paradise….

Loved the house and location. The island has been our favorite so far. We go to a different island every year but found the people of Eleuthera to be very nice and welcoming. Definitely got my steps in this week going up and down steps. Palisades was very comfortable and the view was outstanding. We hated leaving.

Absolutely gorgeous. The view is unmatched and I think we saw 3 people the whole time we were there, very private. It is also walkable to Tippy's which is a great place for food and drinks. We will be back for sure!

Palisades was OK - and no big negatives. For improvement I would note the bed linen is not cotton and I think needs to be washed regularly for longer than 15 mins at a high temperature to eliminate bed bugs. The bedding is a major problem in the rentals market - it really needs to be cotton, cleaned thoroughly and aired. The decking around the house is not in great condition and in places is rotten/ soft. Moreover the sun goes around the back of the house so really the decking g and pool are situated in the wrong position as they do not get all day sun.

Palisade&rsquo;s linens are thoroughly washed at high temperatures for every new group of guests prior to arrival.&nbsp; There are no bed bugs on the property.&nbsp; Guests on the island occasionally mistake noseeum bites for bed bug bites, but a dermatologist can easily tell the difference.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> Due to a busy rental schedule at the property, the deck is being addressed in a few smaller phases of rehab and reconstruction. &nbsp;This will include reinforcing the structure underneath and re-decking the top. Our contractor has confirmed that the deck is safe and in good service condition.

Beautiful House!

This is a beautiful house right on the ocean. We walked along the beach every morning, without seeing many people. The view from the house is breathtaking. The house has great bedrooms and bathrooms, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Our boys loved the foosball table upstairs. The location is great, within walking distance to Tippys, where we ate almost daily. This was one of our family's favorite vacations.

Perfect location with stunning views

Family met together for a spectacular stay only steps from crystal clear water on an unimaginable pink sandy beach. The view is unmatched. The pool was breathtaking overlooking the turquoise waters. The location was private and five doors town from the popular restaurant and hang out, Tippy’s. The upstairs shower has a problem regulating the temp and due to a holiday, our house manager only checked on us the day before we left. However we managed using the other two showers. Other than that, everything was great! We were blessed to be able to share such an experience!

Perfect

Our group of 6 had an amazing time at the Palisades Beach House. The house was spacious & had everything we needed. Being able to walk down the stairs to the empty beach was great. We frequented Tippy's restaurant, walking there multiple times - very convenient and the food (and drinks) were delicious. The locals were so friendly & inviting. We had a great time! We'd definitely recommend this property and hope to visit again soon!

These guests had a series of issues that turned out to be user error. They put the dishwasher on HOLD and did not know how to clear so they concluded that it was broken. Our caretaker came in after they left and cleared the HOLD. Normal operation resumed. They also not know how to operate the electronic safe (just 2 months old) even after receiving our written instructions. so the same conclusion was drawn. Sherman, our caretaker reset it with the master key and the next group of guests used it successfully. If you have any issues, just let Sherman know and he will take care of it.

Beautiful Bahama beach stay

We had a bit of a rocky journey getting there. Unrelated to our stay purely weather related. That said once we arrived, everything was perfect. It was a beautiful beach house right on the ocean. The weather was perfect. We loved Eleuthera and the host was wonderful. They provided a lengthy list of things to do….helping us arrange activities for the kids, as well as helping with rentals and things to do throughout our stay. Thank you so much!

Perfect piece of paradise

House was perfectly located on insanely gorgeous beach with reef nearby. Went snorkeling, used the kayaks a ton, saw sharks (little lemons and a nurse - nothing to worry about, rays and dolphins right in front of the house. Walked to Tippy's every other day for lunch. Relaxed in the infinity pool at the end of each day with perfect view of the beach below. We only explored the island one day (Glass window, Queen's bath and Hatchet bay caves) because we didn't want to leave the property as it had everything we needed to unwind and enjoy the perfection that is Eleuthera. Sherman was awesome and only a phone call away for any help that was needed and the owners were immediately responsive to answer any questions we had.

The back to back check-in/out were so tight that day the maid was probably in a rush. We offered to send her back for a follow up cleaning session the day after. We did have a problem with the pool heater and it got fixed. We are in communication with the renter for the reimbursement of cleaning and pool heating services.

Relaxing spot, immaculate vibes

Everything was great. The house was as advertised, and fairly well stocked. The cleaning crew was still there when we arrived around checkin time, and was rather unpleasant to me when I asked whether we could come in. The caretaker, Mr. Culmer was there as well, and he said we could just leave our luggage in the garage while we waited for the cleaning crew to finish. We walked to Tippy’s to wait, because that’s what you do on Banks Rd! That was a little hiccup right at the start of the trip, but everything else was just as expected. Very nice house - I can recommend it to anyone.

Paradise in the Bahamas

We explored the island and did a deep sea fishing day and tour day with Exotic Excursions..definetly recommended. We also went to The Saphire hole, and Preachers Cave, both cool experiences. The restaurants and food were amazing. Our only complaints about the home was that the deck is in dire need of repair and unsafe to walk on , from the top level, all the way down to the beach. Additionally, the upstairs shower does not regulate temperature. It's either scalding hot, or freezing cold. Lastly, we found tiny ants in the bathrooms downstairs and upstairs, as well as the kitchen. Overall, our family had a wonderful experience and we're so glad we were able to have the opportunity to stay at the Palisades House.

We feel the house is starting to show a lack of care and maintenance. All home owners in the Bahamas are always fighting to maintain their houses against the harsh elements but it seems that this house has been neglected. The deck is becoming unsafe in many areas. The kitchen is dirty and not well equipped. The bedding is cheap and worn.

Our deck is made of natural wood not composite like others, it can be a little uneven and faded but it is quite charming and in no way that it is unsafe. We ask you not to walk barefooted and don't lean on rails especially by the water. We will have more repair time coming up in the fall. The house should always be perfectly clean upon check in. If it’s not please let us know right away. Additional maid service is also available upon request during your stay for an extra charge. By the way, we have more bedding sets in the owners closet, please ask our caretaker.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the most wonderful time in this stunning villa on Eleuthera island in the dreamy Bahamas! We travel a lot and always opt for private rentals where we can, and this is one of our favourite homes and locations ever! The moment we walked in, it had the wow factor! The living room was very spacious and so comfy and we spent our evenings relaxing here and watching movies on the huge tv! The kitchen had everything we needed, and we had every breakfast & lunch in during our 10 night stay. There are two supermarkets in town & a good liquor store which we stocked up at. The master bedroom is beautiful with a large bathroom. Upstairs is also a great additional space with its own lounge area, which shows off views of the beach.Being right on the beach was just dreamy, and we pretty much had it to ourselves apart from a few people who we chatted to. There are loads of sun beds and water sports equipment to use at the villa. It was also great to have the pool there too which you can relax around.Tippys was a short walk away and a great place to grab a bite to eat. We also had a car and went to a couple of places in the town as well. Pam was incredibly helpful through the booking process and we wouldn’t hesitate to book via Eleuthera Vacation Rentals in the future. We tend to go to different places but this is one location and home that we will definitely be returning to again in the future. Amazing View, Beach and Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great 10 days in Eleuthera. Palasaides home is in a great location to explore both ends of the beautiful island. The beach in front of the home is stunning, the water is extremely clear with snorkeling only steps away, and lots of rock formations within walking distance to explore. We loved that we could walk to Tippys in only 5 minutes - and we took advantage of that regularly - or drive to other amazing restaurants in less than 20 min. The house was spacious and the view from both house, deck and pool can't be beat. The only downsides are that the stairs leading down to the beach are not in the best condition. If you have mobility issues or young children, the stairs are dangerous. My husband and I were with our family of 3 children (ages 6, 9, 11) and they were fine, but I was happy my 1 and 3 y.o. nephews didn't stay with us - it would have been too stressful worrying about them or carrying them up and down. One step broke while my 6 y.o. was walking on it - had it been an adult, we may have fallen through instead of it "gently" cracking in half. The pool heater wasn't working while we were there so we only used it twice since temps were in the 70s, but if you're visiting in warmer months, it's perfectly located, sized and refreshing after a busy day of exploring or beach time. This is a gorgeous area of the island and we would stay in this area again. If the stairs and deck are repaired, we would definitely stay in this home again - other houses nearby seemed to have more recently built or repaired steps/decks. These seems to be very weathered and in need of replacement in some areas. Also to note, the beds are very firm! The caretaker was very helpful and communication with him, the owners and rental co. was great.

The property is elevated above and directly on an amazingly beautiful and very isolated beach.

Wonderful View!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been to Eleuthera 3 times. The location of this house is one of the best on the. island. The beach is also one of the best on the island. We saw a sting ray in the ocean as we were swimming in the pool. The heated pool is a fantastic addition to the house and was used almost every day. Make sure to communicate with Sherman 2 days before arriving to make sure place is cleaned before arrival.

Perfect location close to everything in GH: 1648, Laboganvilla, Buccaneers, the Helm, walk to Tippy’s. Kids loved the pool table late night games with grandpa. Kitchen is well stocked. Great gas grill on the deck. Everything you need for an amazing vacation.Pam was exceptional with her communication, support, and just being absolutely amazing. She will be the only one I use going forward:

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although there were some glitches (pool could not be heated, dishwasher did not work, ice maker in the fridge did not work, igniter for the grill did not work), the place was clean and had all the amenities. The location is unbeatable, and the owner and property caretaker (Sherman) were very friendly, responsive, and accommodating. (We were refunded for the pool heating expenses without any issue at all.) Highly recommend this place. The billiard room was a hit with all of us - especially our five grandchildren.

Big House on the Beach!

Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I really don't know where to start. This place is magical, the house, the water, just the whole experience. The house is beautiful, just a short walk to a local restaurant/bar, Tippy's. You walk down the stairs to a beautiful beach, that you will probably have all to yourself. When you get tired of the beach, you head up to the pool with the most spectacular views. I will give you one bit of advice, don't get in a hurry about anything, you are on Island time. This place is so laid back and relaxing, you just have to go with the flow. The boats bring supplies on Tue and Thur, so don't be surprised if they are out of something on Monday. If you're looking for a beautiful house in a relaxing atmosphere, then you can't go wrong with the Palisades.

Eleuthera Family Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We took a long needed family vacation to the great island of Eleuthera in June. Stayed at the Palisades House which was amazing. It easily accommodated the entire group of 8.The views from the pool are amazing. Hard to believe the views could be any better anywhere else on the island. Working with the homeowners was easy as Don was very responsive. Overall an amazing experience.
