House itself was really well appointed and clean, however on the first night trying to light the BBQ no gas and the outside deck area was really covered in cobwebs and dust, had not been cleaned for a long time, took me over half an hour to clean it.

Great property for our family. Easy with kids, great views & very relaxing. A short drive into town and far enough away to be peaceful on a busy long weekend.

Amazing view

Firstly We just arrived early on the day and they allowed us to go in which was really kind of second thing it had a great view such a clean house not much game for the Kids but still there was some , i can call it amazing house ! Last thing night before they msg us and said you can stay longer till 2:00pm which soooo good :) Thanks again

Paradise by the bay

We were two stressed out city girls looking for a quiet haven not too far from the amenities of town. This place place ticked all the boxes. Secluded amongst the gum trees with spectacular views of the bay. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Having been transported into an atmosphere of tranquility, we return to Melbourne regretfully, refreshed and recharged. Would love to return in the not too distant future.

Comfortable and relaxing

Nice comfortable house with a good vibe. Peaceful surroundings with ocean views from the balcony. Situated on a steep hill with no footpaths made it difficult to walk anywhere. Pet friendly which allowed us to bring our pooch who loved the decking, however found the backyard not so pet friendly with lack of grass, steep and was covered in droppings from previous pets which deterred us from letting our dog run around.

VERY DISAPPOINTING

Stunning views and good location (albeit extremely steep) but house is in desperate need of work. Mould in main bedroom and ensuite is a big problem and became so bad to live with we had to leave a day early. There's quite a bit of maintenance required to make this property better and simple things like removing cobwebs, spiders and dead bugs in the cobwebs BEFORE guests arrive would make for a nicer stay! We did make the real estate agent aware of the issues stay and they offered to rectify the main problems immediately but treating and removing mould, as well as spraying for spiders is not the sort of treatment you do when guests are already staying in the property, particularly when two guests are asthmatics! Girls at Great Ocean Road Holidays were lovely, and apologetic, but honestly, the property shouldn't be rented out in this condition. Thanks for the offer to clean it once we were staying there but sadly this was not an option given the two asthmatics staying there. I wouldn't stay here again unless a lot of work was done to the place and it wasn't crawling with spiders and bugs. It's a shame it was so bad as it ruined our family holiday. Lorne was beautiful. The house was not in a fit state to live in.

Lovely space to watch the ocean and the rain falling. Great bath tub and kitchen was well equipped to prepare meals. Dog friendly home. Loved the car port and also the comfortable beds. Would be lovely in warmer weather!

Awesome getaway

Lovely pet friendly home

We had a lovely stay at Summer By the Bay. I was a little nervous about taking our two dogs, but the garden is fully fenced. A short stroll to the beach was easy. The house itself has a wonderful view over the ocean. We had lots of visitors in the form of the local birdlife which was lovely. The team at Great Ocean Road Holidays were easy to communicate with, and everything was enjoyable. We will be back!
