Spacious and charming for families and children and PETS, all who get to freely explore and play on 2 1/2 acres of shaded, FLAT wooded property.

Lay out of rooms and floor plan: Upstairs - Room 1/ Queen bed. Room 2/ Queen bed w 1/2 bath. Room 3/ 3 full size beds (bunk room). Room 4/ King bed w full bath. Also additional full bath in hallway.
Downstairs bedroom / King bed +full pull out sofa, full bathroom. Living room/ 2 oversized couches. Living room #2/ Pull out sleeper sofa + full size futon bed. Half bath in hallway. Basement has a large game room and separate bedroom with comfy pull out sofa and full bath. Many areas available for air mattresses (not included). Full size kitchen with two ovens, dishwasher, microwave, extra large coffee maker, refrigerator, electric stovetop - pots, pans, dishes, utensils & misc cooking apparatus.
Outdoors - large covered front porch, screened in large sitting area with large dining table, large firepit, propane grill with sitting area and table.

DOCK SPACE AVAILABLE FOR MINIMAL FEE at nearby Springs Dock Marina!!! Less than a four minute walk!

Almost all lake and lake view properties in this region are steep and hilly with difficult access. Not so at Dancing Dog! Mostly flat grounds allow for plenty of room for playing and relaxing for the entire family and boat/trailer storage space. Comfortable and plentiful seating for outdoor dining / fire pit use. Large yard for outdoor activities when not on the lake. Property is not lakefront, but is lakeview and a short four minute walk to full service Marina with boat ramp and boat rentals.
Front porch swing to welcome each morning. Afternoon hammock naps are a must. Star gazing under clear forest skies. Ice cream awaits at the full service marina for an evening stroll. Relax and enjoy. This home is located 45 minutes from exit 134 off I-75 and about one hour north of Knoxville. If it's quiet, beauty, space and artistic décor you seek - Dancing Dog will thrill and delight you fully. Dancing Dog is an older home (1972) but filled with quieting charm near one of America's cleanest deep water lakes, Norris Lake, will pull you back and back again. So will Dancing Dog.
The city of Lafollette TN, the closest town, is 12 curvy mountainous miles away. That is the closest food store and grocery location. Please stock up before you arrive.

Very roomy

The house was in a great location that we had 13 people altogether three of them being children, and there was plenty of room. The only one thing that I would say on the minus side is the seventh bedroom I would not consider a bedroom because it’s in a common area other than that, I still give it a 4 out 5. The host stayed in communication the whole time very friendly people.

Awesome Stay!

My group of 6 adults and kids had a wonderful time at this spacious & well appointed cabin. Most of our time was spent outside which was perfect (including so close we could walk to marina with small kids). We will be back!

Perfect Thanksgiving

Property was just as described, better than the pictures. Lots of room and rooms, which we needed. Maybe the best was the outdoor space. Very inviting as you drive in, with the fire pit surrounded by seating.

Potential needs TLC

The property is spacious and has great potential however there were a few issues. Too few bath towels, plumbing issues, it was a hot week so we had to buy fans for the upstairs the AC would not support the size of the house. The beds were comfortable. The place is listed animal friendly so expect some dog hair.

Wonderful Stay

The house is far nicer than the pictures show it to be. Everything was clean. There was plenty of room and places to hang out. Any sort of game or activity you could imagine is there for your use. I would highly recommend staying here whether with family or friends

Couldn’t have been better!

The Dancing Dog was a wonderful place to stay! It had such character and charm. The kids enjoyed all the outdoor games and even board games as well! We enjoyed a fire every evening after spending the day on the lake. Dana and Manuel were great hosts answering any questions we had! Awesome memories made!

House was great! Had 3 families.

All the adults and the kids Had a great time. Wonderful and friendly neighborhood. Fire pit was a great success to sit around in the evening. We would have liked the upstairs to be cooler. Was hot in the bedrooms. Overall would rent again. Wonderful trip!

Amazing

We were running away from hurricane Irma and this place made it feel like we where home!! Donna & Manuel Mesa made this place a week to remember even if we were sad because of some loss we where quickly remembered that no matter what was lost we had our family. Awesome, spacious home to share lake time with family!

Our extended family of 16 stayed at The Dancing Dog to gather to celebrate our mother's 80 birthday and we could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The home was clean and inviting. The owners, Dana and Manuel, made us feel welcome by making sure we had no questions or issues during our stay. While we could not make use of the fire pit do due rainy weather in the evenings, there was plenty of room for the family to play games/cards and reminisce. We would recommend The Dancing Dog for a stay at Norris Lake.

Lakehouse

We really enjoyed staying at this lakehouse. The amenities were endless. The house was clean and stocked plentiful. We had guests ranging from 83 years of age to under a year. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for privacy for the 15 guests. The older kids enjoyed the hot tub and the adults enjoyed the porch swing and fire pit. We had a handicapped guest as well and entrance was accessible along with showering. We highly recommend this property for a large group.

Family vacation

The space of this property was nice. There was plenty of room for everyone including our fur babies. The property was at the top of a hill and a pretty steep walk to get to the marina. Down was okay but going back up carrying our boating things was a challenge. The outside space and tree covered lot was amazing. The cleanliness of the inside of the house could have been better.

Family Vacation

The property was accurately depicted and was perfect for our family get-away! My husband and I, our 3 kids and their spouses, and the 10 grandkids (ages 1 through 14) stayed 5 days, 4 nights and LOVED this unique, well-kept older property! Large wooded lot, plenty of parking space for our 4 vehicles and boat trailer (5th vehicle one day when another family member came for half a day from nearby). We played volleyball, enjoyed the hot tub, and played in the beautiful yard and patio/porches. A real treat was discovering the swing that each one of us took turns on swinging out over the tree tops!!! (Except the one year old twins😬) Our host was EXCEPTIONAL, answering all our questions about the home and nearby activities. Always quick to respond and eager to make our stay and GRAND one! We look forward to returning again soon.

Fun and entertaining

Firstly the host's were incredible, very supportive of our visit. They were able to secure a boat slip for us, provided us with a very entertaining property that the whole family enjoyed. Plenty of space, for the family to get together or spead out into quite spaces. Lots of parking, we had 5 vehicles and a boat trailer. Although it is close to the lake the walk is a bit of a hike coming back up to the property but a good cardio work out. The area is nice, even the neighbors were very friendly and cordial. All around a great stay. There was a little wonkiness with a couple of the bathroom sinks and one shower drain, but nothing to ruin the day. It is very rural and probably very hard to get service technicians out to the property in a timely manner. We had a group of 16 people of all ages and had a wonderful experience, i would recommend considering this property if you are looking to stay in the area.

Everything was perfect!

Where to begin?? Dana and Manuel were the PERFECT hosts. They stayed in touch from the time I booked until the day of our arrival. They made sure we would have the best vacation. The location of the property was super convenient. Plenty of space for 13 of us and a couple dogs. Best fire pit for s’mores, and plenty of firewood provided to accommodate the indoor fireplaces as well. Home is charming, spacious and spotless. Everything was taken care of - plenty of cookware, utensils, etc. we didn’t need a thing. Loads of games...board games, darts, etc. Oh, and the COOLEST swing - kids and adults couldn’t get enough of it. My family couldn’t have been happier. Thanks again, Dana and Manuel. We had an amazing week.

There was room for all!!!!

We had a GREAT time at the Dancing Dog! It was big enough for all of our family. Yet it was so cozy and comfortable at the same time. We enjoyed all the games (inside and out). We really appreciated all the firewood. We were able to enjoy an inside and outside fire during our stay. The pantry had all the cooking items we needed and the double oven was a BIG plus for the Thanksgiving meal. A few items to note...These items are not in any way complaints, just notes for the next traveler. My elderly father could not traverse the stairs to the second floor. The short handrail made it difficult for him. He was able to stay downstairs, but we then had to rearrange families. The table lamps have dark shades, and there is not a lot of light in the rooms. We played a lot of games and needed more lighting. However, we loved the place! The drive in was a bit curvy. Be prepared! But Google maps took us right there! Thanks!!!!!

Gathering Good time!

There was a lot of flat outside space for games when not at the lake. The fire pit was a great area to unwind after a day on the lake. Even with the rain there was space to gather for indoor fun and conversation.

The website does not do this property Justice. Such charm and the owners put a lot of love into this charming little getaway. So many quaint details and amenities galore. We loved it!

Property location was great. House was large and roomy, HOWEVER not in good condition. Noticeable musty odor, mice droppings throughout the house, generally not clean. Outdoor grill filthy with mold. Obviously would NOT recommend.

Great Stay

The homeowner is wonderful and easy to work with. The walk to and from the marina would be tough for the young or old but not uncommon for the area. This is a great home if you have kids or pets as there is a ton of flat outdoor space.

Fantastic experience at Dancing Dog!

We absolutely loved our time at Dancing Dog! The property over delivered in terms of space and accommodations, while providing us with the perfect weekend getaway. The owners were great about answering any and all questions we had prior to check in as well! The home is a short walk or drive away from the marina which is great for a day on the lake, and the outdoor fire pit was the perfect way to wind down at night. Overall, we could not recommend more highly!

Great family vacation

What a great place to stay at Norris!! We had our adult kids and their children and everyone could be entertained. Amazing place to go back to each day after enjoying the lake. Dana was super helpful with everything we needed. Boat slip was very convenient. We never felt cramped in the house and there is so much space in the yard we could all be doing different things. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. Any problems we had were addressed immediately. This was an amazing place to make forever memories.

Our family weekend

Formerly the Dogwood Acres Bed & Breakfast, Dana and Manuel Mesa fell in love with property and surroundings and made it their new home after moving from Florida in 2004. We wanted to escape the heat and move to a cooler climate with changing seasons. The emerald green water of Norris Lake and the mountains of Tennessee were an easy sell.
We are excited to offer our home to you to relax and enjoy the beautiful sites and nature sounds of Norris Lake. Rated one of the nations cleanest lakes.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

After two summer reunions on Norris Lake, we knew we had found our new home. After living in South Florida for 21 years, we decided to start looking for property. When we saw the Dogwood Acres property we were sold. Many homes around the lake had very steep and unusable property but due to the flat land it made it more appealing. We had also learned that the former owners Dorsal and Janet Jones, who had run it as a bed and breakfast, served ice cream in the back room of the house. People visiting the area still recall the overflowing ice cream cones they served.
I love the relaxed feeling and atmosphere that this house emanates. It is casual and easy. Everyone that visits feels a sense of calm as soon as they pull into the driveway. From the front porch swing to the sun room, room to sun or wander the grounds, this property has it all. It does not have lake access but when we get off the lake its a great place to come back to rest and just hang out.
The boat ramp is conveniently close and marina is walking distance for an evening stroll and ice cream cone.
If you're wondering why we named it the Dancing Dog House, it is because we love to dance and we love our dogs. We love animals and we hope your animals will love it here.
It is a special place that we love to share with others (four legged too!). Everyone that comes to stay always leaves feeling refreshed and rested. We hope you will too!!

Weddings, ice cream and a former bed and breakfast. The stories continue as we meet people that have been vacationing and visiting the lake since they were kids. In the spring the property comes alive with dogwood blossoms as well as the entire hill. Hence the street name, Dogwood Acres.
We love the fact that whatever time of day, there are always special spots and nooks to tuck into to relax or nap. Whether its a hammock, a lounge chair in the private lower yard, the front porch swing or a bench around the fire pit, this unique property is just what most people need to spend time with friends and family and reconnect.
