Great place to Stay

We had our annual summer stay in Mammoth at this house. There were 9 adults and one toddler. The house is great for a big group. Other than it being 3 levels with the kitchen and living room being on a different floors, the house is great. The people who live there year round are not very friendly, but they tend to leave you alone.

Great property for a family reunion!Wish they had mentioned the stairs. Not for the elderly. Need to bring sharp knives and spices if you cook. Sleeping arrangements were wonderful! Love the laundry. All in all, really enjoyed the place.

Great location for a ski trip

We loved the proximity to the shuttle for skiing. Space has a lot of levels which makes for a fun vibe with good privacy when staying with lots of friends or family.

Great stay in Mammoth

Cabin was great and close to shuttle. Only downside was the WiFi router was unplugged when we arrived so the check in process with the provided tablet took a while since it required WiFi.

Mammoth family vacation

Pleasant stay for a short vacation

The townhouse was clean and nice and overall a good excerience. We made it work with 2 full bathrooms for 9 people. Would rent it again.

Nice place to stay, plenty of beds

Had a good stay. The condo is split into 4 levels with plenty of beds and good for larger groups. The grill on the balcony worked great for grilling steaks and was appreciated. The one drawback was that the oven didn’t work correctly when we tried to make dinner which caused headaches and delayed us eating.

Decent property managed by a management company. Some items are old and need replaced, refrigerator and kitchen faucet other than that solid place and we had no issues at all.

Family and Friends ski trip

There were 8 adults during our ski trip and overall we really like the place. Positives: There was plenty of space in the kitchen and living room. Walking distance to the hot tub. Close to the Eagle Lodge lift. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a gas grill available for use. Also, there is free firewood and a TV in everyroom. Negatives: We couldn't check in until 4 on the dot. So if anyone plans on getting there even an hour earlier, make sure you call well in advance. There are a lot of stairs in this house and there was still some old christmas decorations up. The shuttle stop was a far walk from our house, so we ended up driving to the mountain everyday.

No need to call well in advance, as our contract and check in instructions explain in detail, you need to request early check-in 24 hours in advance (just not the same day you arrive, as we have to plan for you). We are happy to grant early check-ins and late check outs whenever possible. Please understand that this depends on a number of factors such as our other guest's arrival and departure needs, our housekeeping schedule and workload, and we may have scheduled maintenance or other business in the unit which needs to be done between guests, and which affects our ability to grant your request for additional time in the unit. Due to the nightly nature of our business, and the possibility of receiving same day bookings, we are unable to confirm any early check-in or late check-out requests until 24 hours before the date of arrival/departure. We are unable to accept same day requests for early check in or late check out. Accommodating these requests requires planning in our work schedule. Because we set our daily work schedule at the end of the day before, it is important to have your request submitted no later than 2pm the day before your scheduled arrival/departure (2 days in advance for 8am early check in requests). Generally if there is no one checking out the same day you arrive, we offer a 1:00pm arrival for free, or an 8:00am check-in for a half day charge. We accept these requests from 24 hours to 30 days before arrival (48 hours for 8am early check in requests). We are not able to accept same day requests, as we have to plan for you. If you have any questions about the property you are considering, and if you have specific needs or expectations, we have local staff in Mammoth available 7 days per week to talk to you or answer any questions. Under major roof repair

When we arrived at the condo, we were shocked to see ladders and several workers and tools and saws and equipment everywhere… the place was under going major roof repairs… I called the property manager and they were shocked too. They offered another property, but it did not have adequate parking so we stayed where we were… I asked for consideration of a discounted price, and they ghosted me… Not good.

When traveling to Mammoth and staying in any vacation rental it is helpful to understand the relationship your vacation rental manager has to the property. The VR manager you book with has a contract with the owner of the individual condo, and is responsible for the studs-in portion of the condo (interior only) while the complex usually has its own maintenance staff (paid for by the Homeowner's Association) who is responsible for the studs-out (or anything exterior to the condo you booked). This means that every condo in Mammoth may be managed by different companies, and regardless of which manager you book through, none of us have any control over the neighbors, parking, or common area facilities, or maintenance. When you access amenities (such as hot tubs, pools, parking, or laundry etc.) you do so as guests of the homeowner. Individual vacation rental managers have no control or information about outages, maintenance schedules, etc. When speaking with any on-site staff, please be aware they are not employees, agents, or representatives of Mammoth Five Star Lodging, unless they are in our uniform. There may be a front desk at the complex you booked, but they are a different company and will not service you, and they do not speak for us. We offered this guest multiple comparable properties to stay and they became upset and refused. We explained that we could not offer a refund due to our company policy and what we could provide to mitigate the situation, this guest outright refused. Please note, if you have any questions about the property you are considering, and if you have specific needs or expectations, we have local staff in Mammoth available 7 days per week to talk to you or answer any questions. Nice family stay in Mammoth

This condo was very nice and comfortable for our family of 4, and you could easily fit more kids since one room has a full size bed and a bunk bed. Overall it was well-stocked except that there was no salt and pepper provided, which I have never experienced in all my years of renting homes with kitchens and basic amenities. I had to stop cooking dinner and run to Vons. Maybe that was an outlier, but it seemed odd. The condo is cute and nicely decorated. Some things could use some upgrading (broken blinds in the unit, and the communal sauna wasn't working 2 of the 3 times we went which isn't this owner's fault or responsibility but it was a bummer), but it was otherwise very comfortable. The check in/check out was easy and the wifi is good which is a huge plus. We prefer to stay a bit closer to the mountain but we did find it easier than expected to get to the mountain and park, even on a busy holiday weekend. We would recommend this property.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide grocery items such as cooking oils, spices, salt & pepper, plastic wrap or aluminum foil, however if the property owner or prior guests choose to leave these items we do not remove them. Grocery items are very expensive and operationally impossible to manage. Many guests would simply take the entire inventory on departure. We need to be able to provide single use, sanitary products to guests, in exact quantities for each arriving guests; and the costs have to be included in the flat cleaning fee (and agreeable to everyone). Thank you so much for the feedback about incomplete repairs in the unit. We are aware of the situation. Mammoth Lakes is a very small town, population 7000, in a remote, 9000 mountain locale; approximately 150 miles from the nearest city (Carson City, NV). When we have to contract repair work out to local vendors, the delays in their schedule or in receiving parts can be quite lengthy. Window glass and screens, appliances, furniture repairs, etc. can all take weeks here, as opposed to the days they may take in a city. Mammoth Five Star Lodging employs our own team of maintenance technicians (maintaining the highest staff to unit ratio of any manager in Mammoth) so that we can effect most repairs ourselves, in a timely fashion. Occasionally we encounter a problem that is beyond our scope, and we are forced to deal with vendor schedules (who are not in the hospitality business). Please know that we work hard to minimize these delays so that we can present products to you in the best possible condition for your stay. Thanks so much for staying with Mammoth Five Star Lodging! Nice rental with a couple of little annoyances

The common areas of the unit were large and spacious. There was plenty of seating. The space was also clean upon arrival. The kitchen was large so multiple people could be in there at the same time. Lastly, it's always nice when the parking is right in front of the unit especially in Mammoth! A few comments that needed improvement: - The unit is designed for 10 people, but there were only 8 spoons and 8 drinking glasses. We had to go out and buy plasticware. - One of the bedrooms shows a queen + twin bunk bed set up. Unfortunately the top bunk bed doesn't have a railing and so we had to "shift sleeping arrangements" rendering the top bunk useless. - Lastly, the railings and stairs have large gaps. Definitely not ideal for a family with young kids. This is just a problem with all of the older units in Mammoth, but something to keep in mind for families looking to rent.

Special All Family Gathering

I have booked units in the Snowcreek Development for over 10 years. I booked this unit because our family stayed in this floor plan 4 years ago, another unit. This unit was very disappointing.Unit is not properly cleaned. Many cobwebs to be found. Shelves not dusted. We had two small children (2 and 4 years of age) and they were upset by the spiders and bugs.Fortunately we learned about the Hantavirus which is currently a public health issue in Mammoth from a family member who lives and works full-time in Mammoth. This family member brought to our attention that he saw mice going in an out of the outside closet and asked if we had been notified of the issue in Mammoth. We were not and immediately stopped using this closet to store a couple of toys we brought. We advised the grandchildren to stay clear of this area.The King mattress and the Queen mattress in the room with just the queen bed were very old, you were rolling into the center of the bed. No quality sleep at all.The code to the Spa was wrong, we could not access.The early check-in code I was emailed was wrong and had to get help to open the unit. One of the grand kids found a vape pen on the floor of the living room. I discarded. It was very obvious so why didn't the cleaning crew handle this? Broken glass left in the unit, I discarded it. A broom in the kitchen to sweep up crumbs would have been appreciated. I would not recommend this unit it needs work.

5 floors of dirt, clutter, noise and old furnishings....

-Unit was only spot vacuumed, under beds, along walls,behind furniture, in corners under kitchen table had not been vacuumed for quite sometime. -When the landscapers come @ 5:00 a.m. to hand water the exterior grass and plants the water main is right outside the master bedroom, therefore when they open the valve the wall shakes and then you hear the water running for hours. -The toilet in the mid floor bath has a leak so the tank is refilling every 15 minutes and you hear the water run (very difficult to sleep). -The drain pipes and water pipes are extremely loud especially down in the master bedroom. So when someone showers or flushes the toilet or washes dishes you hear the water running and draining in the master bedroom very loudly. -Dishwasher was full of dishes, which did appear to be clean but were not fresh so had to run wash cycle again. -No dish towels, had to request them. -(2) key light bulbs in the kitchen track lighting were burnt out. -(3 light bulbs in lamps in the hall way light and bedrooms were burnt out. -The switching for bedroom lamps were all out of position, unable to turn lights on when entering room, had to plug lamps into correct plug to make operate properly with wall switch. Found no plug available for lamp in master bedroom. Found lamp with no knob so it could not be used at all. -Table with glass at family room level/stairway, it's legs are so wobbly that it is ready to fall down, very unstable. -The entry bench has a wall item leaning behind the bench which is made out of metal and scratched my hand when I moved the bench. -Lens on under cabinet light in the kitchen was hanging and not installed properly. -There is a lot of Homeowner clutter in and throughout the house that should be stored in a locked closet or off sight. Found Christmas items in a bedroom closet, junk drawers in the laundry room. -I did not see a usable vacuum to clean the carpet. -The racks in the bedroom closets were falling apart. -The stereo and TV in the family room are very old (at least 10 years) and look like garage sale items. -The TV set up was out of sync. when I originally tried to watch TV and I had to call to get advice to use Source 3 instead of Source 1 like the booklet stated. -The screen at the master bedroom patio door did not operate properly. The entire place needs to be deep cleaned, the junk and crappy furniture thrown out or donated and the bedspreads, curtains, and carpets need to be cleaned. Unit is 5 levels...

I wanted to take a moment to reply to your review of Snowcreek 474. We are very sorry that you didn’t find the unit satisfactory. When you brought many of these items to our attention on your arrival, we came to the unit to address them for you the same day. We replaced the burnt out lightbulbs, delivered dish towels, replaced the lamp switch, and so on. At that time you expressed to us that you were happy. We at Mammoth Five Star Lodging strive every day to provide outstanding service and cleanliness for our guests, a fact that we believe is proven by our overwhelmingly positive reviews. In the event any guest finds any aspect of their unit or their stay problematic, we are available 24/7 to correct the problem. Hospitality relies on people, and people sometimes make mistakes- we don’t pretend to be perfect, however we will do whatever is required to address errors should they arise. We believed we had addressed your concerns during your stay, and were surprised your review didn’t acknowledge those efforts on our part. Unfortunately you did not report the running toilet to us, or we would have sent our maintenance staff to the unit right away to address that as well (it has since been fixed). As you know, this property is located in the very popular Snowcreek development. The irrigation systems are operated by the HOA grounds staff, and neither we, nor the property owner have any control over the sprinkler systems, their timing, etc. Had you contacted us about this issue, we would certainly have contacted the grounds manager and tried to adjust their schedule to better suit you. All we ask for is the opportunity to address problems when they arise. In Mammoth, virtually all vacation rentals are the private second home of the property owner. These homes are made available for use by the public during times when the owners aren’t using them. Because of this, each unit has its own style and design unique to the tastes of the owner. In fact, the bedroom closet where you found Christmas items stored was actually a locked owner’s closet, meant for storage. After you checked out we found the lock broken open and have since repaired it. This owner prefers a comfortable, cabin-like feel, and so their choice of furnishings are simple and functional. The decor is exactly as it appears in the photographs provided. Regarding the audio equipment: these owners prefer the sound from older tube-style audio to modern digital gear. Would stay again

This multilevel townhouse was clean and spacious. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped. The reservation process, check in and check out were clear and easy. The management company was responsive.

Yellow water

Property was great except for the dark yellow running water that was yellow for about 4 hours. The response was fair. We had to let all the water run about 30 minutes, before it cleared up. The repair man said it happens sometime. We took some pictures. of the water and showed it to him. We missed our restaurant reservation, so we went to Carls Jr. We used your site last year and that was great. We will use you again. The Gerarde Family

The place was nice!

The rental was cute and very clean. We had a great time! It was just missing some basic things for cooking such as nonstick spray. There were only two individual packs of coffee even though we rented for 10 people.

We do not stock cooking items since covid hit we are not allowed to have open food items left in the units. This is county health order regulations. We only give a starter set of coffee packets and guests furnish own food after that.
