I brought my dad to visit CrashBoat Beach for his first time and this rental completely ruined our trip from day 1.
When I booked the reservation it was listed a specific nightly rate. Which I did not mind. Then it asks how many people will be staying at the property, I entered 2 adults (my dad and myself). Since it is a 3 bedroom (more like 2 bedrooms and a fold out couch) house I do not see how that would be considered excessive. When I got to the final page of the booking, I saw that he was charging an extra for cleaning per day and an extra charge for an extra person each day. I believe these fees are excessive seeing as there was not much cleaning done prior to our arrival, and why should we have to pay for an extra person when there are 3 beds?
First item: the owner contacted me 20 minutes prior to check in to let me know that the property would not be available for an additional hour due to the previous renters staying late (check in was supposed to be 2pm). We arrived at 3pm and he stated that he still needed additional time to prepare the property. Around 4pm the property was available.
Second item: the property is not clean, there are bugs on the windowsills and in all of the cabinets. Including dishes that where just left in the dish drying rack.
Third Item: electrical issues! The light in the bathroom does not work unless you continuously keep pressing it and then it will finally turn on. Some of the electrical outlets/light switches do not even have covers on them. When we checked in the owner stated that the TV had Netflix and showed us how to log onto the WiFi, which is supposed to be 5G. But when we went to watch a movie that evening (since there is a curfew and nothing to do after 10pm), the TV would not even turn on. I texted the owner and his response was "Im sorry about that." We then proceeded to watch a movie on my computer, however the internet is SO SLOW that you cannot get through an entire moving with it it buffering every 10 seconds. The owner returned to the property and stayed in his home (which is also located on the property) that evening. We thought he might try to resolve the TV issue since he was staying on the property, but he did not even try to resolve this issue while we where there.
Fourth Item: The bathroom door does not close or lock.
Overall this was the worst experience that I have ever had!
