Studio 1301 was perfect for our 12 day vacation in Toronto. The location is just steps away from public transportation and access to everywhere in the Greater Toronto Area. (A shout out to the TTC, their friendly and helpful staff and the detailed Ride Guide and Trip Planner). Between weekly and day passes we were able to get everywhere with little effort, and younger passengers were constantly jumping up to offer us their seats.
We arrived by air and took the UP Train into the city. It is a great deal and a fast ride, and we never had to see the inside of a cab or Uber for our entire trip.
Sean was so easy to communicate with, and his lovely, spotless, and tastefully decorated apartment was perfect. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the bath is large. The washer and dryer allowed us to pack light - one small bag each was plenty. Sean left some clever and welcoming touches, but I will not spoil the surprises.
If you want to get a flavor of the city, research the ethnic enclaves, use your maps and the TTC to get there, and then ask a local about their favorite places to eat. We discovered lots of out of the way gems, including Polish, Central American, Noodle shops, Greek, Italian, and British and many more.
Don't miss the smaller museums. Our favorites were the Bata Shoe Museum and the Aga Kahn, but there are many to select from. Also, if you have a chance take the ferry to the Islands -
a very beautiful respite from the city. TTC will take you right to the dock.
We will certainly stay here on our next visit and will recommend Studio 1301 to our friends.
