Lakeside

A very pleasant one weeks stay. Very quiet and tranquil. Watching the varied birdlife on the lake was delightful. all new appliances in the kitchen were appreciated. The only negative was the small size of the shower.

Whalers Cottage is a lovely place to stay.

We had a very nice time at Whalers Cottage. The location is excellent and within walking distance of town, beach and local attractions. It was wonderful to watch grebes and coots feeding in the beautiful pond outside. Frog calls lulled us to sleep each night The cottage was clean and functional. Plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils were provided. The air conditioner was sufficient to keep us warm in the living area, provided the door was kept closed. An enjoyable holiday.

This property was not clean, all windows had mould.Electric blanket on one bed had bare wires.This property is needing an overhaul ….

Sitting outside over looking my own lake what could be better

Loverly quiet relaxing location with a bird watchers paradise Ibis, Herons,ducks, cormorants, Water hens, Eastern spine bills and wattle birds .

The cottage was clean , very comfortable,l was there for 4 days we was happy location

The cottage is located in a very lovely spot looking out onto a lake with some ducks . It's located in a very quiet location and less than a 5 minute drive to the main shopping centre in Port Fairy.

Accomodation Average

Whilst Port Fairy is a lovely place and we enjoyed our time there we thought the accomodation at No 1 Whalers Cottage was very basic, there seems to be very little maintenance, and the contents are all very dated. The shower is tiny. There is no wifi. When contacted staff at Stayz were quick to respond.

A cold week!

Whalers cottage is a great spot, just not in winter! Its cold & the R.C. aircon cant keep up!

Peaceful spot, close to everything

Cute cottage in tranquil setting with everything you need. I enjoyed opening the curtains to the view of the lake and siping my tea watching the ducks and listening to birds chirping. We could walk into town in a few minutes, and East beach, Inlet and Griffiths island all close enough to reach on foot. Drove to Heywood one day for a wonderful Budj Bim tour of old stone huts, 6000 year old eel and fish aquaculture systems and beautiful nature and geology, on traditional lands with Gunditjmara traditional owners, Braydon and Leigh. Fabulous experience. The only downside to the cottage: we needed to keep the heater on the whole time to keep the cold out!

Pond life!

The location was picturebook perfect with pondlife and birdlife on show from the back porch. Very private. Very quiet. Cottage very comfortable would return but suggest new lounge furniture?

Peaceful, convenient and comfortable

A lovely cottage, big enough for four adults that has everything you need. The lake is pretty, the birds and frogs added to its charm and it is only a short walk from the town centre. We really enjoyed our stay

A great location, close to the town and bike trail. Accommodation well suited to a family of four with enough space for the kids to play outside and have their own space inside.
