Susan has an awesome property in Custer, SD that these three cabins sit on. The cabins are well-appointed with everything you need to make breakfast each day - she even gives you six farm-fresh eggs at the beginning of your stay. There are dishes and utensils to make just about any meal you need to. The bathroom is a normal size with a shower stall. The water temp was great. The loft has two twin beds and a trundle. My family members said the loft beds were very comfortable. There’s a small table and lamp up there as well as a luggage rack. The bedroom is small and a bit difficult to maneuver around the bed if you keep the luggage in the room. We just kept our suitcase under the loft stairs and that helped a lot. The living room area is cozy, a full size couch that is also a sofa bed - we did not make use of that. The dining area is small but seats four comfortably - you could possibly seat six if people are small in stature. We did the goat farm tour and really enjoyed it! The town of Custer is small and this time of year it’s inundated with tourists so expect to move slowly through town. There is a grocery store about 15 mins from the property - it has everything and anything you may need.
I highly recommend hiking at Custer State Park. We also did the candlelight hike at Wind Cave National Park - an amazing, one-of-a-kind experience!! We also went to Mt. Rushmore - we spent the least amount of time there but I’m glad we went.
Don’t hesitate to book this cabin. You will NOT be disappointed.
Bottom line: Enough space for a family, cold AC, great wifi, beautiful views, starry nights, campfires. AMAZING.
