Everything about this house was impressive! The host was super responsive and the house was so beautiful. We’ve rented a number of places for family getaways over the years and this was the very best. The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of cookware and dishes to make a large Thanksgiving meal. There were lots of games for all ages and the hot tub was a big hit. I loved this house with all its windows, live plants, and gorgeous furniture and decor. If we ever go to Asheville again for a family trip, this is the place I want to stay!!

Great home base for North Carolina mountain vacation

We had a great time at this house. It was convenient to all the outdoor activities we planned as well as Asheville. So wonderful to come home to the pool after a morning of hiking. Great kitchen and dining room for large groups. Great responsiveness of owner before and during stay. Would highly recommend!!!

family vacation

This was a great place for our family to spend quality time together. With young grandchildren, we wanted a place where we could spend a lot of time comfortably. This was great as everyone enjoyed the pool frequently, all the amenities available, and even the craft room was a hit. Ellen was tremendous to work with and was very responsive to all our questions and needs.

Fletcher Family Reunion

This was our every other family reunion. The kitchen was stocked with every conceivable utensil, pot, just everything we needed. The family really enjoyed the pool. There was enough seating for us to have meals together. We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend the house for your family reunion.

Family Vacation

4 families (20 people) with enough room for everyone. The pool, craft room and board games were all a big hit with everyone (especially the kids). Great location to get to hiking, downtown Asheville, grocery stores etc... We would give Ellen and this house a 10/10. Ellen reached out before our vacation and was very receptive during our stay.

Fabulous location

Ellen’s house was the perfect location for our family get together to celebrate my husband’s and my 70th birthdays. We spent most of our time in the pool, evenings around the many tables playing games and even making s'mores at the fire pit. The grandkids definitely enjoyed the craft room. Thank you Ellen for being such a welcoming host. We would highly recommend this house.

Great fun on Walnut Lane

The house is absolutely beautiful and the yard was stunning. Flowers and plants inside and out. The pantry was well stocked and every kind of pan or small appliance was there. The owner is absolutely delightful and answered all our questions quickly. She is amazing. We couldn’t have been happier and we hope to come back again.

Great property. My family of 21 enjoyed the house. Excellent communication with owner. Good location. Convenient to Asheville and the mountains. House was very clean and extremely well stocked with everything you need. The property is secluded in a neighborhood and very quiet. Pool is great and we used it often. Great landscaping and house plants. We enjoyed several nights around the firepit. We highly recommend this property.

Asheville home

We had a lovely time in this home. We were three generations staying here, 8 adults and 8 children ages 4 to 13. There was plenty of space for everyone and having 2 refrigerators was an enormous help. The beds were extremely comfortable. Ellen was there to greet us when we arrived and answered all our questions. I had emailed Ellen prior to our arrival and she was able to tell me some places where we could cater our 1st night's meal from. I would definitely recommend this house if your are going to be in the Asheville area.

Super Vacation

We couldn't have asked for a better home in which to have our family vacation. There were 14 adults and 6 children, 2 to 13 years old. There were bedrooms for all 7 couples and the home is supplied with everything you'll need from beach towels to every kind of spice in the kitchen and all the pool toys and goggles for the kids. The children's craft room was totally supplied. All you need to bring are your easy living clothes. The owner was so wonderful to deal with and greeted us when we arrived. Highly recommend.

Beautiful large comfortable home with all the amenities

Very unique layout with three comfy sitting areas, a large amazingly stocked kitchen and large dining room. Pool was perfect for afternoon and evening swims. Plants everywhere and a homey feel made this a great place for our family reunion. Enough pans, pots, serving dishes as well as glassware and dishes for 20 people.

Ellen was a fabulous host to work with! The house was perfect for our family. While the weather didn’t always cooperate—we enjoyed our time together in the house. Would highly recommend this property for a family getaway.

Awesome stay with an awesome host

Frequently with a rental house you stay in an investment property that someone bought for the purpose of making money. Every now and again you get a place that is truly more than just a property and is actually a home. This house is exactly that. Ellen's home is a perfect place for groups and families. It's clean, well equipped, and overall well located for those looking for something close to Asheville and all it's fun stuff while still having your own space and not being right in the middle of the hubbub. Thank you again to our hosts for making our big family trip special. We hope to come back one day.

Family Vacation

A relaxing week in a beautiful spacious clean house with the most beautiful flowers. Very well-stocked large kitchen. Grandkids loved the pool and craft room. An additional bonus on our first morning was watching a black bear in a tree! We also saw deer on walks and bike rides. Communicating with the owner was very easy. I am glad we picked this house.

I am as overcome with the beauty of this area today as I was when I first visited. I come from a large family with four sisters and love cooking for large groups of friends and family. Asheville's Walnut House is a one-stop-vacation for you and your group. Very few vacation rental homes in WNC have swimming pools and this one is beautiful. You could pull up in the driveway on day one and have your whole vacation here and never get bored. It is set in a beautiful area and very private and peaceful.

BR 1: King bed with ensuite bathroom. This is the master BR (plenty of room for crib, etc.)
BR 2: Cal King bed with dedicated full bathroom.
Den area: one sofa
>>Upstairs:
BR 3: Queen bed with ensuite full bathroom. Plenty of room for blowup or crib.
BR 4: Double bed with room for a crib. Jack'n'Jill bath with private sink and shared toilet and tub shower.
