4th of July with my nieces and nephews

We were only there to sleep. The beds were comfortable. This was the boys room. No complaints. Plenty of room to move around in.

Family reunion

My wife and I stayed the weekend for a family reunion in Camp Wood. The property was clean and comfortable. The room is larger than the hotel rooms in the area. It is a nice, clean place and fit our needs perfectly. We did not receive our room information before check in because we did not have cell service. We went to the coffee shop at the location and the young lady working there was more than helpful. She was able to message the owner and get the information for us. Again it was not the owners fault but poor cell service that was the issue. I would definitely stay there again.

Clean, Relaxing and Friendly

Spend most of my stay at the river. The breezeway on the property is the perfect place to BBQ in evening. Their hospitality was incredible. Down to Earth with heart. I recommend this historical stay, if you are looking for a place to chill.

Peaceful and nice

This was our second time renting at this location. It is very easy to find. It is off a main highway. There are a few spots to swim and play in the water nearby. The rooms are spacious and have what you need . The beds are super comfy. They even provide a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. There is a community BBQ pit outside on the patio and chairs with pretty lights to just relax and have a conversation. The provider Gena is so thoughtful and asked me to let her know when I would be coming and she would turn on the ac in our rooms so they'll be nice and cool when we get in. They even had a essential oils diffuser in every room and the best smelling hand soap and plenty of towels in the restroom. It is a no frills place but I prefer it that way. You have everything you need and it isn't a huge property with tons of rooms so you don't have loud neighbors. This is my new favorite spot to get away to. Gena is fast to respond and willing to accommodate you. I couldn't have asked for a better host or a better place to stay. I can't wait for our next trip. Thank you so much Gena. You are amazing.

Family river trip

We very much enjoyed our long weekend at the Nueces River Retreat. We had plenty of room, the AC worked great, and it was close to great swimming locations! In the evenings, we had a great area to hang out and cook some burgers! We look forward to visiting again!

Cute and comfy

We go to Camp Wood a few times a year to relax in the Nueces river. The regular place we book was not available. We found this place on vrbo and was only 4 miles away from Camp Wood which was great. The rooms are simple. Two beds, restroom, mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine. The thing that impressed me were the little perks. They had good hand soap and a humidifier diffuser thing that smelled great. The beds were comfortable and they had black out curtains. They also have a cute little patio with chairs that we hung out in and drank beers. One of the neighbors even turned on the patio lights for us and it made it more festive. They were close to everything we needed and was close to a creek where you could swim. If you plan on eating takeout do not expect anything to be open past 8. We knew that but still wanted whataburger so my bf had to drive to uvalde which was about an hour and a half round trip. The communication was the best and everything was great. You will not regret staying here. We will definitely be back.

Nothing fir miles.

If you want secluded and isolated this is the place. There is really nothing around. We stayed here because it was "close" to the river we were going to float. There is a little town about 5 miles away to get something to eat. The room I had was just a few feet from the main road. It was a bit noisy.

Conveniently located.

Located at the southern end of 335 (the western twisted sister) and only 26 miles from Leakey. This place is right in the middle of the best motorcycle riding in Texas.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but very clean, nice comfortable beds, A/C works great, no frills, but great value.
