We chose this property first for its location. We love the mountains and the water, and this is about as close as you can get to both. We like that it is at the quieter, wilder, less developed end of the lake, but still near a boat launch with a lovely beach, and several state parks. We like that it adjoins 6000+ acres of woods with lots of wildlife, and yet a few stores and places to eat are not far away.
The house itself needed renovation which appealed to us since we could open up the space, update it, and make it a beautiful place for multiple families to gather where everything is clean and new, but still has that coming home feel to it. We like that, with its 4 levels, it is spacious enough to be quite comfortable for groups of 21, yet is also cozy enough, and beautiful enough to be a romantic getaway for just one couple using only the first floor.
Last but not least, we love the spacious yard with its stately evergreen, weeping willow, sparkling brook, and adjacent woods.
