Comfy Studio at the Appalachian building - Mountain Creek Resort, Vernon, NJ

Our recently renovated Valley View Studio is conveniently located on the second floor of The Appalachian building at Mountain Creek Ski Resort, Water Park and Bike Park. It is nicely furnished with all the amenities to meet your needs, including a fully equipped kitchen, large modern bathroom, 50" flat screen TV and a complete array of linen, towels and bedding supplies.

The studio offers one King Size Bed and one pull out Queen Size Sofa Bed perfect for kids or smaller adults.

Approximately 410 sq. ft. of open living space, very clean with modern layout and a great Valley View.

The Ski Resort usually opens mid December and closes mid to end March. (weather permitting)

The Bike Park opens in late April, early May and closes usually the last week of October. (weather permitting)

The Water Park is open during summer months only.

We are located only 50 miles from NYC and and 56 miles from the Newark International Airport
High speed WiFi is available if you are planning to work remotely.
Over 60 cable channels to keep you entertained.
One parking permit and one space in a secure underground garage
ACME Supermarket just 1.5 miles away and plenty of dine-in and food delivery options close by.

Outside, you can enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking, skiing (winter only), downhill biking, zip lining, golfing (there are 7 Golf Clubs nearby: Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Great Gorge, Minerals, Wild Turkey), fine dining, wine tasting, horse riding, apple picking, Warwick old school drive-in movie theater or just relaxing in the hotel's all season heated outdoor pool and hot tub.

Amenities were good, we expected to have access to big pool but unfortunately wasn’t open and we have issues to get into the fitness area, the code to open the door never worked and somebody part of the staff open the door for us.Apart of this, we have a great relaxed time.

Stayed with these hosts and this apt before and saw the place was available this time so of course chose to stay with them again. Had a wonderful time at Mt Creek and the apartment was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. As before we loved it and would recommend this space and these hosts.

Great room

Very clean and tidy hotel style room with small kitchen for light cooking. We were not able to partake in any amenities because we were in the area for a weekend music festival but a walk of the property showed it to very clean and well maintained with a great pool area. One drawback is there is limited parking for oversize vehicles. I drive a 4 door dually pickup and parking was challenging. Someone with a hightop van would find it even more so. The room had a portable air conditioner so I'm assuming the main ac was not functioning but the room temperature was comfortable just with slightly more noise from the portable- neither of those issues were problematic, just thought that I would mention them. The only problem we encountered was the water temperature was impossible to control with wide swings from cold to nearly scalding that is the reason for the 4 star review. I'm sure the owners will rectify that because they really seem committed to providing a great stay but there were a few scary moments in the shower when the water temperature got extremely hot

Exceedingly Comfortable

We received excellent instructions about arrival and were pleased to find a small, but fully equipped, and very comfortable studio apartment. Plenty of room, cold refrigerator, comfy bed, and a great television for viewing the Kentucky Derby. We had a wonderful weekend.

Inaccurate website exposure

If tubing or zip lining starts only seasoning then it should say on main website. Skiing should be disclosed somewhere that when weather is better that they do not have fake snow forming. Many of the snow skiing trails, the ground was exposed. How could you ski with the ground showing? No good!Also there’s no dinning around this huge resort. Just snacks. I feel that you should have something available at all times since people are there to have fun. If not then inform people. Drinks are great but you need food too.

Lovely Studio on the mountain

We have stayed in this apartment before loved it then and again now. Nice clean space with everything we needed. My son slept on the couch bed and it was super comfortable. Hosts are great. Just an elevator ride to ski and snowboard.

Great stay

The place was perfect for what I was looking for, simple and spacious. Good location with lots of amenities nearby. Very quiet. I would definitely stay again!

great for a short visit

We came for a short anniversary trip, we loved going in the hot tub and eating at the restaurants around vernon and warwick. The room was clean, all the information we needed was clearly laid out and it was a relaxing and easy stay.

Great Place!

Owner was super responsive and helpful! Condo was very clean, slept 4 people comfortably and had all amenities you need! Towels, soap, paper towels, plates! Large pool and smaller pool are heated and then adult hot tub! All very nice! Only thing that stinks are all the taxes and fees.

The owners are very nice and they communicate with you for your stay. A little studio condo was very clean and comfortable. The money for the same, the pool, the hot tub, and all the games for the kids. We’ll definitely be back.

Fresh air and family fun

We had a great time for our short 3-night stay at the Appalachian. The condo was clean, accommodating and easy to access. My husband and I used the bed and my two kids, 9 and 12, are still small enough to share the pull out. Both were very comfortable with fresh linens. White towels were plentiful for all of us and we were provided with all of the bathroom basics -- hand soap/lotion, shampoo/condish/body wash, face soap. The maintenance staff for the Appalachian is top-notch! They are always around and the place is sparkling, top to bottom. The pool was our favorite, with the hot tub and sauna. We were able to have a nice firepit lit one night too! I used the gym twice and it was nicely equipped and of course, very clean. We had a great time at the waterpark and the Biergarten. The kids are already talking about making this an annual trip! Thank you for a nice stay!

Great weekend accommodations with an unbeatable location

Our family of three stayed for the weekend while attending a wedding. The place was cozy and just what we needed. The property includes a really nice outdoor pool and is walkable to what looks like a ski lift for a biking course. The space includes a small fridge, sink and some kitchen supplies - no dishwasher if that matters to anyone, and I believe the stovetop is only intended for very mild use as it isn’t vented and can risk setting off the smoke alarm if overused. The only nice-to-have for us would have been a box of tissues, but everything else was provided and we are grateful for the stay! Oh and a super-simple check-in process too.

The property was very clean. Property manager paid close attention to detail. Loved all her little touches to having items if needed in a pinch. When asked a question, I received an immediate response. Would absolutely stay there again!

Vernon Township, home to roughly 25,000 people, is tucked away in the northeast corner of Sussex County.

Flanked by Wantage Township to the west, Hardyston Township to the south and West Milford in neighboring Passaic County to the east, it shares its northern border with New York state.

More than 40% of Vernon’s 70 square miles is preserved open space and the township is crisscrossed by both federal and state parks as well as a 20-mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail. Communities within the township include Glenwood, Highland Lakes, McAfee, Vernon Valley, Barry Lakes and Lake Wallkill.

Vernon thrives as a year round destination for outdoor enthusiasts of every persuasion. The convergence of skiers and snowboarders during the winter months gives way to hikers, golfers, mountain bikers, kayakers and campers during warmer months. Vernon definitely lives up to its billing as New Jersey’s four season recreation community.

Attractions include Mountain Creek Ski Resort , Mountain Creek Waterpark , Crystal Springs Resort with 7 championship golf courses and health spa, a number of highly-acclaimed bed & breakfast inns and Mother Nature’s gift to the township - Wawayanda State Park and the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge .
