Had Melissa been honest and we still chose to stay here then this place would have gotten a 4-5star. But it was a nightmare from the start!
For our vacation with multiple young children, including a 14month old, we really needed something not only close to water but with easy access.
I had voiced my concerns after reserving the stay with Melissa. A prior review had said that it wasn’t easy to get to the lake. Melissa assured me it was. Upon getting to the property we discovered that the lake was over 500 yards away from the property down a very steep and rocky incline. HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE for a family with small children! When I voiced my annoyance with Melissa, she stated that she had just been their and skipped ricks with her daughter. “They had a blast!” We didn’t pay 2wks worth of $ skip rocks.
The fridge wasn’t cooling out food properly and we were told it’s because we may have “loaded it down” with our groceries and needed to allow it to catch up. What followed is our fault, it ended up finally getting cold and we risked eating our hundred of dollars worth of food rather than throwing it way after we were refused a discount on our stay. Unfortunately we would regret that, 6/8 of us would end up getting food poisoning. Melissa response is that our food takes awhile to get cold after being out in the Texas heat from the grocery store. I repeatedly informed her that I am a 30+ year Texan and have never had this issue!
There is a nice park that is a few min drive to an area that you can swim. However, you can only bring in truck at a time. Which again is highly inappropriate for a large family of little kids that need car seats and boosters! As well as all the belongings for a day at the lake. We also had to buy a canopy for shade at the lake when we originally thought we would be close enough from the townhouse that this wouldn’t be an issue. We only had two options make multiple trips to the town house or have grownups in the bed of the truck. As an icu nurse I refuse to do put my family at risk because Melissa chose greed over her guests.
Her response was to tell us there was a near buy pool. If we wanted to hang out by a pool we would have stayed home.
There were some pros. Cute and clean town house, fast though condescending responses, lots of deers to watch and even hand feed, fun bingo night at the caddy shake, and let’s not forget a hands down the best place to skip rocks!…. Or so we were told, they must have skipped a
