Perfect getaway

We were a group of friends looking for a winter kiting getaway and we found it. Perfect location. Great set up and exactly as advertised. Excellent communication and would recomend highly.

Amazing location for kiters

Unbelievable location on the south side of La Ventana. Great and very helpful communication from Brian, the owner. Everything worked as it should and was a great place for my family and I during our week+ of kiting and exploring the area. Loved it!!

Amazing trip!

We felt like we hit the jackpot as kiteboarders! Right on the beach with a great kite launch just downwind of Baja Joes. In the morning kayaks and paddle boards were available to use as well as beach toys for the kids. The house had the most amazing view of the whole bay and it had everything we needed for an extended stay in Ventana. We had a truly amazing time and will definitely book again! Highly recommended!

Fantastic week

Brian's beachfront palapa was a week in paradise for our 8 person family. Right on the beach with amazing views a beautiful beach and every amenity we could want. We had more fun than we would have anywhere else in La Ventana. Brian was a great communicator on helpful even on issues that were not his responsibility (best kiteboarding lessons). I'd been a bit afraid of traveling to Mexico and had never been in small town Mexico before. It was amazing. I felt safe in town and always safe at the palapa. La Ventana is a beautiful rustic town full of kind and helpful people.

we loved our stay at Brian's Palapa

The home is as described. Note the second bedroom uses the shower in the master bath. This was not a problem for our group. Kitchen is uber well stocked as is the whole unit - coozies, cooler, water toys and chairs, etc. The casita bedroom/unit does not have direct ocean views - however it is a quieter and 'darker' place to sleep if that is something you enjoy. The top of the casita is great for sunset viewing but not good for ocean viewing. The great room views are amazing - great place to hang out both inside and outside. Thanks for all - we plan to return.

"Cockroach Casa"; What a disappointment. Total Rip-off for 588/night?! (with VRBO fees included)

Nice view- but for $588/night? We have been renting beachside baja homes for 11 years and this was our WORST VRBO Rental Christmas Vacation at the "Cockroach Casa" . We entered the home with our family on the evening of Dec 23- and were "welcomed" by over 20 dead and 12 live cockroaches traveling across the concrete floors, bedroom ceiling, open kitchen shelves, countertops and bathroom wall. We get Baja and love the "Rustic Baja Vibe"- but this dilapidated, smelly, crumbling home was an obvious tear down. We couldn't find another place to stay (Christmas week) so we had to deal with it. Additionally there were 2 enormous 1"-2"inch gaping cracks in the living room stucco walls-from floor to ceiling- so we could actually see the bugs crawling through the ceiling & walls non stop - The place smelled of mold- probably due to the rain coming down through the palapa and walls onto the cheap, old uncomfortable couch below. The condition of the interior and exterior paint was era 2006- stucco falling down crumbling. Above all, the sound of construction going on next door with wall attached to the "Casita" made sleeping there uninhabitable and too smelly. Uncomfortable, broken outdoor furniture. No BBQ. Nice location but the WRONG price!! We tried to negotiate a partial reimbursement discount for the awful conditions we experienced but owner Brian refused. Happy to provide recent photos and videos of the home's true state. Nice view but the wrong price for a tear down.

Location, location

Brian' property was as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked, and all the water toys were available. Morning coffee, with the view, followed by a SUP paddle before the wind picked up and then an awesome spot to kite / wing from. Just carry all your gear down sand path to the beach and enjoy the day's activities or just sit at the beach and watch the show.

Beautiful location and an amazing host

When we arrived at the house; we were mesmerized by the panoramic view of the Sea of Cortez. The house has stand up paddle boards and other beach toys for guest to enjoy. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals including spices etc. The house has amazing wifi in case you do need to check email etc. We had an amazing time and would recommend this house and we also plan on staying here again.

Perfect Home

The home is well stocked and wonderfully located. Quiet neighborhood right on the water with incredible views. We used the SUP’s and we were able to do downwinders right to the house. I would stay there again for my next trip! Owner was responsive and helpful.

Amazing trip and wonderful house

Stunning house with 180 degrees view on the ocean. Beautifully located with direct access to the beach in a calm neighborhood. Great 14 days stay with absolutely no complaints (cleanliness, internet, amazing sun rise, standup paddle, kayak, beach tennis,...) The owner, Brian is a gem - super kind, always available, solution oriented. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in this beautiful part of the world.

spectacular beachfront fun

Drove up from Cabo in a rental with no problems. Highly Recommend only driving that route in the daylight. gorgeous unobstructed views of Isla Espirito Santo and kiting/windsurfing playground from the 20 foot long windowfront and porch atop the 100 foot long path to the water. The kids and I did a 4 mile SUP in the glassy calm water in the am (nice snorkeling and fantastic swimming) and then played in windy waves all afternoon. Visit the mezcaleria down the beach and pick up very fresh fish for dinner at the pescaderia about 2 miles away. Fresh tortillas every morning at the local mini super mercado. All within a very short drive. Several restaurants too (including a very good italian run by a Mexico city resturanteur), a few within walking distance. Well equipped kitchen (gourmet pans and knives) and lots of friendly people. Beds are firm so plan ahead. Ceiling is very high traditional palapa (natural leaf) style with one large main room. We had an unusual intense rainstorm and surprised there were no leaks. Created beautiful rainbow over the bay that several adventurous wind addicts enjoyed up close. Drove 1 hr to La Paz twice on no-wind days and enjoyed the waterfront with no problems (eat at Chez Jacques). Sound travels far along the water in this little village and it can get loud very late at night on party nights so bring earplugs if youre not part of the party.

Brian’s place was great right on the beach and had all the toys we needed. Brian was available to help with excursion advice and any other questions we had. Highly recommend his place. Look forward to returning Ray Clare

Best Beach Vacation Ever!

We loved our stay at Brian’s beach palapa, with its authentic thatched roof and fabulous location. The views from the living room and terrace are awesome and we loved watching the kite boarders ride the waves as the frigate birds soared overhead. We swam every day right in front of the house and walked down the beautiful sandy beach to Baja Joe’s for drinks and down the road to Marlin Azul’s for Mexican food. We also loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and its cooling breezes. Brian’s house is well-stocked and he is a very attentive and conscientious host.

Perfect peace!!

Brian’s place is absolutely perfect. The location is THE BEST LaVentana has to offer!! Position on the beach is beautiful and is the ideal spot for kiting. He has a dead man for self launching and there is little traffic in this area, making it ideal to launch and land. The house is perfect as well. Large gathering room with beach views and open air. Comfy beds. Roomy showers. Well equipped kitchen and bar area. The roof top patio on the casita is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset or a view of the mountains. Also perfect place for packing your kites. It is a 5 minute walk down the beach to Baja Joes for an apre’ kite cocktail. My favorite was the early morning paddle board to watch the sunrise. He has several great paddle boards for you to use, and a sea kayak for those challenged with balance. His place also allows easy access to an extensive trail system for running, hiking or ATVs. And to top it all off, he was immediately available to help with any questions or needs. I had an issue with one of my boards and needed some tools, and he had a set delivered within the hour. No question, I will stay here again if it’s available!! Thank you Brian for being an amazing host! Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise.

You will have a hard time finding anything better than this! Location, location, location! Beach access 100 steps out your front door! Kiting, SUP, beach walking, and patio sitting. Perfect set up for gear access and available SUP's. House it well equipped for all size groups or families. Will stay here every time!

Great family getaway!

Great place to hang out indoors or out. Quiet location but close enough to walk to the action around Baja Joe’s. Well equipped kitchen, abundance of nice towels (including beach towels), lawn chairs. Used the SUPs and kayak in the calm mornings and the corn hole game for early evening entertainment. Kite right from the house. Brian is a friendly and responsive host and provides a helpful area guide for transportation, restaurants, excursions. Loved our stay here, and hope to return!

Simply magical

We have just returned from staying at this fabulous beachfront villa. This has to be the best equipped rental we have stayed in. The views are second to none, with the expansive south beach out the back and the beautiful mountains out the front. It is easy access to many of La Ventana's restaurants. We are kiteboarders and the launch area right outside the house was a dream. Brian was an exceptional host and ensured everything was top notch for our trip. Can't wait to return next year!

On The Prettiest Beach In La Ventana

Brian's Palapa was the best choice for our first visit to La Ventana. It is on the best part of the beach with soft clean sand. It's a five minute walk up the beach to all the action at Baja Joes and our kitesurfing lessons at Elevation. It was nice to get away from the action to sit in front of our house on a quiet part of the beach. The house was very well stocked with all the necessities - TP, paper towels, soap, shampoos, drinking water for our entire stay, dish soap, laundry soap, plenty of bath towels and wash cloths, beach towels and chairs. From the living room, we enjoyed the sunrise views in the morning and the sunset views in the evening. During the calm mornings we took advantage of the three stand up paddle boards conveniently stored for us right by the beach. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was fully equipped for cooking. When we had a need to contact Brian he was quickly and fully available by phone, text and email and I knew our needs were his top priority. We kept our eye's out for a better place to stay if we return to La Ventana, and our family determined there wasn't one.

an ideal family vacation spot

Myself and my two siblings had an absolutely lovely time staying here for our Dad's wedding. The view out the huge front windows was breathtaking, just steps from the beach and close enough to town to make everything easy, but just far enough that you feel totally peaceful. The kitchen is really well stocked with anything you could need and the internet worked great the whole time.

Great Place!

This is an awesome place for kiters and their families. The two houses are put together nicely. There are SUPs in the shed by the beach. Just grab one and paddle into town for breakfast or go 200yards the other direction for morning surf. Kiting in the afternoons is easy with a large beach and anchor for launching/landing. Fun mt biking at the end of the street. Thanks Brian!
