Place is beautiful. A little far from town which may be desirable for some but not for others. I would rate it higher if the price was lower. A couple of suggestions for the owner: Master bedroom should have a king bed. It has two twin which are great if someone is looking for adjustable/reclining feature. Welcome brochure does say that shampoo will be provided but the owner suggested that he does not provide it any longer. Given the price, i think it will be appropriate to have shower gel and shampoo as one does not alway cary them given the restrictions on carry ons.

Lovely House with Lovely View

The Pahto house is lovely and a great place to stay, especially if you have a number of people. We had 10 staying after Christmas, four of which were children, and it held us all very comfortably and conveniently. Contrary to what one person said in a review, I found the master bedroom bed amazingly comfortable, and I am not a good sleeper. I slept like a baby while there. The view is wonderful of Mt. Adams (we think it's that mountain; we have a lot of volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest); the only caveat to that is the fairly common cloud cover that can obscure it. We had a few days of really beautiful sunrises on the mountain, however, so we were very lucky. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Its layout is wonderful if you have a number of people in it. The pantry is great. I love things to be neat, and having a big pantry made neatness so much more possible. The laundry room is roomy and so easy to use. The many bathrooms, with bathtubs for the kids, were very convenient. I loved the master bathroom bathtub. Awesome. The media room was great. The only real complaint I had was the lack of shampoo. There were many bottles of hair conditioner and hand sanitizer, but no shampoo, so we had to make a run out for that. I had great hopes of using the patio with the fireplace, but we could not figure out how to use it. The instructions mentioned in the book for the house were not found. Despite the two drawbacks, I have wonderful memories of our stay there.

Beautiful house and setting, uncomfortable beds

The good: the house, and the view are beautiful, peaceful and scenic setting. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The not as good: the bed in the master bedroom is miserably soft and just two twin beds pushed together without so much as a king size sheet. I slept terribly and my back hurt from the poor quality mattress. Despite being an expensive luxury rental and paying a cleaning fee, the checkout time was very early and the list of chores prior to checkout was extensive and included stripping the beds. Definitely not what I have come to expect from high quality vacation rental companies! Will likely look for an alternative management company in the future

Best Place Ever

Our family is very grateful for the opportunity to stay at this gorgeous house. Every aspect of the house and property is a straight 10. The spacious floor plan, amenities, comfy beds, hot tub, views and outdoor spaces were absolutely stunning. I’ve never stayed at a place where every need has been anticipated and perfectly covered. Comfort beyond words! Enough towels, great cookware, serving pieces, clean appliances. So grateful this place was available to us & can’t wait to come back! Thanks!

Fabulous stay for family wedding event nearby

Extended family stayed here for my son's wedding and it was the best place I have ever stayed! (and I am kinda old and have stayed at a lot of VRBO's/hotels etc) When i read all of the 5/5 reviews I thought 'this can't be real!' but it is! Quiet gorgeous views with spacious outdoor decks, excellent kitchen for serving large family meals, plenty of conversation spots in the house, and a bed and a bathroom for each person!!! It was perfect.

Secluded Woodland Luxury Oasis with Stunning View

Pahto’s Retreat was a delight. Heated concrete epoxy floors throughout first floor, lofty ceilings in the living room that is open to the dining area with table seating for 8+, large island counter and professional grade oversized refrig/frzr combo, outdoor patio with fire pit and cushioned sofa seating, outdoor hot tub, three car garage with ping pong table, second floor game room, en suite bathrooms for all bedrooms except 1, floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, and hip-to ceiling windows in dining area and master bedroom which looks out on the 12,500 ft peak that is Mt. Adams (aka “Pahto”). This place is a secluded, woodland oasis that is about a 25 minute drive into Hood River where we enjoyed Grasslands Barbecue, Ferment Brewing Company, and riverfront leisure for a 5 day/4 night stay among a large group. It was well stocked with towels, bedding, blankets, dishwasher and laundry detergent, and other consumables.

Fabulous House

We celebrated my husbands 90 th birthday with our daughters, son-in-law and three young adult grandsons. There was plenty of private space as well as gathering areas in the dining room, living room and outdoors dining area. Beds were very comfortable, the weather was delightful, the views outstanding, landscaping lovely, house well equipped.

View was Amazing!

This may be one of the best VRBO properties I’ve ever stayed at. The house was lovely, all bedrooms have there own bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. But the best was the beautiful view of Mt. Adams and the fantastic outdoor area. My family was out for a wedding/reunion and they all loved staying here. House was just a short drive to White Salmon/Hood River.

Beautiful Home/Great Location

This is a beautiful home nestled on the top of a mountain looking out at Mt. Adams! The view is spectacular, and the home was absolutely exquisite! It is a great place to relax and unwind in a private setting, yet still just a short drive into Hood River. We had 9 people in our group, and there was plenty of space for everyone to gather and yet still have their own space when they wanted it. We had a local yoga instructor provide a class on the gorgeous outdoor deck one morning, and the kitchen had plenty of cookware for the private chef we hired, to come prepare a meal one night. The owner was quick to respond, whenever we contacted him with questions.

Great home to share time with friends.

Pahto's Retreat is a very comfortable vacation home for our group of 5 couples. The bedroom and bathrooms set up is perfect. Beds are comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and I have refrigerator envy. The location was close town. The views and setting was peaceful and relaxing. Communication with rental representative and evolve was good. We have already requested to book next year.

Pahto's Retreat in White Salmon, WA (north of Hood River, OR)

Simply the most BEAUTIFUL home and property! Inside and outside the home is very well appointed. The view out the front of the property is AMAZING with the view of Mount Evans filling a large part of the view. There are no homes nearby so it is totally quiet--you are on top of the mountain. Yes, the price is relatively high, yet our assessment is it was well worth it. It is only a ~20 minute drive to Hood River, OR.

Relaxing - exactly as we had hoped...

The house is set up really well - we had our 2 kids and my parents and all agreed we would go back; could also see us going back with another family with kids or with multiple couples. The house was stocked with all the amenities we needed. The views were spectacular and outside space was great; we would love to go back in warmer weather and enjoy the patio even more. The hot tub got a lot of use! We'll be back for sure!

A+ Experience at Fabulous Home

We rented this property for a weekend getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday and we loved every minute of our stay. The house looked just as beautiful as the photos. The property is huge, well decorated, comfortable, and perfect for our group of 10. Would highly recommend this home to anyone.

The Real Deal NOT a Cat Fish Rental

this house is exactly what you think it will be, 80% of the vacation homes iv rented always make the house look bigger or nicer than it is to get people to rent them. This place on the other hand, it was the best money iv spent on a vacation home the view on its own what worth every penny not to mention that the house is incredible. if your looking for a great house and view this is your home no need to think about it twice. would recommend without a doubt

This place has become quite special to our family. Well appointed, the location is unbeatable. Really appreciated that the driveway was plowed for us the morning after snowfall! If you're one of those PNW coffee snobs like me, bring a coffee grinder and brewing device - the blender does work in a pinch, though!

Gorgeous view of Mt Adams

We traveled to Pahto's Retreat in White Salmon on a girl's trip and could not have been happier once we arrived at your stunning home. The home was decorated with such unique and beautiful decor and there was more room than we ever could have hoped for. We had so many outdoor adventures planned and were lucky enough to get to do them all and come back and relax around the comforting fire pit by the outdoor seating. We enjoyed the hot tub as well one evening after horseback riding, which was extremely welcoming. The first two days of our stay it was overcast but the weather was gorgeous only to wake up on the third day to the amazing view of Mt Adams straight in front of us. It was as if the skies had opened up and we were in heaven! I would highly recommend this location to anyone that enjoys outdoor activities. So many things to do... zip lining, kayaking, horseback riding and hiking. As well as fine dining in Hood River, we found several excellent restaurants the were exquisite! I will hopefully be back one day again. We could not have enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. Thank you and hope to see you soon!
