Glorious location just off the best beach in the Algarve

Absolutely delightful stay in every way! The home is well designed for comfort and Madeleine was responsive and lovely to work with! So many places to eat out and grocery shopping within walking distance. We loved this place!! Totally recommend staying here!!

Wonderful house and perfect location

We loved this property from day 1!! We stayed in Madeline’s house for 2 weeks and couldn’t fault it in any way. First the house was immaculate and so clean. It is modern and has excellent WiFi. It had everything you needed as a home. There are three levels and the rooftop terrace and outdoor bbq was the icing on the cake with the sun shining there until late evening you could sit out and have dinner there too. The proximity to the beach and cafe’s, restaurants etc was perfect for us. Having the access to the Luz Bay Hotel pools also was welcome on the days when a beach break was needed. You can also use their tennis courts too. The mid week cleaning service was also great to freshen up the house. There were two great showers in the house with instant hot water. If anything could be improved it is having the air con working in the bedrooms given weather was especially warm this year the bedrooms did tend to get very warm. There was plug in fans available and we did use this to help. We would love to return to this property next year and would highly recommend a stay here

Superbe petite maison typique! Très bien placée, vraiment agréable. Un lave vaisselle ainsi qu’une place de parking dédiée seraient appréciables. La plage de la Luz est somptueuse, l’accès aux piscines est rapide. Une magnifique semaine en famill! Nous espérons revenir une autre fois!

Rundum zufrieden

Alles wie beschrieben, sogar schöner als auf den Bildern. Sehr sauber, Strand und Restaurants fußläufig in fünf Minuten zu erreichen. Alles vorhanden was man braucht, Schlüsselabholung reibungslos, Balkone und Dachterrasse waren prima und wurden täglich von uns genutzt. Sehr sympathische Vermieterin:) ! Wir würden nochmal hier unseren Urlaub verbringen!!!

Great location and explanation of the area. We wouldn't have known about the fantastic fisherman's trail without the visitors book we found at the apartment. Only trip up was finding the actual apartment(bring a photo). To improve experience please provide appliance instructions in English.

A Delightful Welcoming Apartment

We had a wonderful 10 days at Casa Meia. The apartment was in a great location, minutes from the beach, restaurants and bars. It was immaculately clean and well maintained. The space was superb, very well equipped and furnished. Maddie and the property agent Mieke were really helpful and communicative. Highly recommended and would love to return.

Super Unterkunft-Toller Ort

Das Haus mit toller Dachterrasse und 2 Balkonen liegt keine 100 Meter vom schönen Strand! Wir waren zu dritt dort und uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Der Ort Luz bietet alles was man braucht! A wonderful place to stay

We've just returned from two excellent weeks at Maddie's house. As previous guests have commented, it is in the perfect location; only a few minutes walk from the facilities of the Luz Bay Hotel in one direction and the beach and restaurants in the other. The house has everything you need for the perfect holiday. The lounge balcony is a great place for breakfast/ lunch and the rooftop terrace was always in full sun and a comfortable place to sunbathe on the loungers provided. We have already recommended it to friends and family and hope ti return again one day.

Lage ist Top

Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, bietet diverse Möglichkeiten, es sich draußen gemütlich zu machen. Die Option, die Pools des Club Hotels nutzen zu können ist schön, vor allem, wenn man mit Kids verreist. Luz ist ein super nettes Städtchen, mit schönem Strand und lieben Menschen. Man hat alles um sich herum, was man braucht. Das Haus hat eine intensive Grundreinigung nötig, es ist sehr schmutzig und es roch sehr muffig, auch noch nach mehr als einer Woche Aufenthalt.

Well-equipped house at a great location

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Meia. It is really close to the beach and has a great roof terrace and a balcony. Also, it is has everything you need for a great stay at Praia da Luz. The owner responded to all our queries really quickly and was very helpful.

Hi, thank you for looking at our house. My name is Madeleine Taylor and I live with my husband of 42 years, John. We have traveled all over Europe but fell in love with Portugal 22 years ago and have owned a property there for the past 21 years. Casa Meia is our second house in Praia da Luz. We bought the first house with another couple who decided they wanted to sell after 5 years. We loved Luz so decided to buy another house here. Casa Meia was perfect for us being so close to the beach and restaurants. The airport is only 50 mins and with no time difference from the UK it is a stress free destination. The picture above is my husbands 65th birthday party held on the roof terrace in April. ( I am the blonde curly one!)

Loved the close proximity to the beautiful beach and easy access to so many other areas. As we had sold the previous house and split the proceeds we decided to call the house 'half a house' in Portuguese. The beach in Lagos is Maia Praia which means half a beach so we called the house Casa Maia. Our maid fell about laughing so we explained why we had so named the house. She explained that 'Maia' also means sock so she couldn't understand why we had called our house sock house. The spelling has changed to Meia which is now correct. The Portuguese people are so friendly and if you can venture out of Luz and find one of the local restaurants or grill houses you can find wonderful lively company and very cheap meals.

Casa Meia has a superb roof terrace with a large BBQ. It is great watching the sunset and listen to the sea whilst relaxing and watching John cooking at the BBQ (can't understand, he never cooks at home!) might be sometime to do with the large G&T. A great place to unwind after such busy days! Our guests now have use of the all the pools, the pool bar and restaurant at the lovely Luz Bay Hotel which is less than 100 metres from the house.
