Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is beautiful: green grass, trees, pool/jacuzzi, view, clean, safe, plenty of parking. The views of the beach, mountains and property from balcony was amazing. The furniture is ok, typical island decor, good seating. Plenty of items in kitchen (dishes, cups, utensils). Bedrooms and bathrooms ok. The AC in 3 rooms on timer worked fine. This condo needs a deep clean with furniture moved and cleaned behind and under. Curtains and couches washed. Booking and check in/out seamless. I would recommend this place to friend and family.

Great location!!

This place was amazing! We stayed 10 days and was sad to leave on check out day. The place is perfect for 5 people. Steve and his team were fast at responding. Pros: watching the sunset right on your patio, Washer and dryer, the amazing pool, middle of everything, bbq area, very well kept landscaping, comfortable beds, starter kit of dish soap, sponge, toilet paper, paper towels, very easy check-in process Cons: found dirty dishes in the cabinets A/c is on a timer and the longest it goes is 4 hours at a time, not a pen or scissors in sight, One of the beach chairs had a rip in it Other than that it was a great family vacation! Definitely would stay again

Great Central location

The grounds at this resort are kept beautifully. Excellent view of the ocean from the balcony. The condo has everything you need even some beach supplies. The individual ac’s in the bedrooms were great because my husband likes to sleep cold and my mom usually freezes. The location is good because you are less than an hour from almost the whole island. Only downside is the beach at the property is nice but not really a swimming beach. When we were there in early June it got really windy in the afternoons but we were usually somewhere else on the island by then.

Oh my, this place was more than expected

It was stressful trying to find the perfect location to stay on our first trip to Maui. Somewhere that my kids will enjoy with lots of activities and access to the beach. This place was it! Not only was it a short walk to the beach but the pool and hot tub were just steps away from the elevator. The unit was roomie for the 5 of us, the only complaint I have is the AC units only run for 4 hours at a time, I understand it is to save on electricity demand on the island but I ended up waking up every night when I got warm to hit the button. A small complaint for being in such a wonderful place. I would recommend this property to any family traveling to the island looking for a stressfree time.

February 12 day visit

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the second time staying at the Maui Sunset, last time was 7 years ago. It is a very nice complex, the grounds are beautiful and they are constantly maintaining the trees and grass. The cleaning of the pool and bar b ques everyday was most impressive. Our particular condo was on the 4th floor, beautiful view. Two bedroom, 2 bath, plenty of room. The only disappointment was the very outdated furniture and the carpet was very much in need of cleaning. We saw a couple of other units and they were much more inviting. We will absolutely stay again at Maui Sunset, but try to request a nicer condo, although we were told they are randomly chosen for you.

Poor customer service

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property management was not accomodating at all. Check in time was 4pm and I requested for extra pillows for 7 people. The person I spoke to by phone said that they are gone for the day and they don't give extra pillows. First, gone for the day when you know check in time is at 4pm. They should be on stand by in case renters need something. Second, THEY DON'T PROVIDE extra pillows???? Third, not enough towels for 7 people and some of them including bed linens smell awful! Will not ever recommend this to friends and family.

A nice place in sunny Kihei

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed at Maui Sunset in Kihei, Nov 2018. Resort is close to restaurants, shopping and beaches in Kihei area, & 15 min to Costco and Walmart in Kahului area. Nice manicured lawn, litter free property & pool/hot tub are nice and clean. It was quiet during our stay. Unit itself (B-415) can fit 7 people. Has A/C in each bedroom & living room. A/C turns off once in a while, but it didn't bother us. Nice trade winds were comfortable during that time of year. We were actually wearing sweaters at night when outside, and we are Canadians! First time I ever have to wear a sweater in Hawaii. The check in was swift and easy. Parking spots are so tight people often take 2 spots for their one vehicle. Hard for trucks/SUVs/vans to find a parking spot if you come back to resort late at night. First impression of the unit when we got in was a bit negative because of the old, musty smell coming from the carpet. Had to get Febreeze from the nearest CVS, & sprayed the carpet & all the fabrics in unit. It was fine after that, but we sprayed febreeze on the carpet every day anyway. The bedrooms and beds were fine & everyone slept well. The kitchen was well equipped. Great having a washing machine and dryer too. Had more than enough towels for bathing and swimming (there were 5 of us). We just washed them if we needed them clean. There were cable and wifi. The master bathroom was nice, but the 2nd bathroom needs to be updated. Once the curtain is drawn, the shower was dark and tight in space. The tiles could use replacing because the grouts are darker that other areas. I hope they were not molds. The balcony was nice and big with a table and chairs and a gorgeous view of the property, the ocean and a lovely sunset each day. I would definitely recommend this property and unit once the carpet and tiles are changed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rental was okay but shabby. Curtains were dirty, windows were dirty, lamps in bedroom starting to rust. Many things need upgrade or repair: dishwasher is broken, inventory on plates and cups incorrect( needed to request more from housekeeping, no kitchen sink strainerIn general we enjoyed the stay but upgrades are needed.Location is good . Grounds and pool were meticulously maintained.

The unit was very clean, plenty large enough for a family of 5. There was plenty to do within walking distance. Watching the turtles come onto the beach was a 5 minute walk. The ONLY downside is we weren't able to swim right off the property, however, the beaches were within walking distance. You could see the whales breach from the balcony. Having this place made for a memorable stay. We will definitely be back and there is no other place I want to stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Originally rented a "supreme" ocean view unit and we were so looking forward to that especially coming from 20 degrees in MA! We completely understand that things happen so when we were called a few days prior to our arrival, and had to pivot. We didnt mind, we try to be low key and laid back. The unit we were given had a partial ocean view...sure not a big deal. It had tons of tiny ants all over the place (and we were mindful to make sure all food was in closed ziplocks or in the fridge), the primary bathroom grout was black, there were life sized dust bunnies in both bedrooms...the last straw for me was finding a couple cockroaches in the unit in the middle of the night (time change struggles). Thankfully we had a cousin from Cali with us that disposed of them without fear. I've been renting from MS for several years...this was by far my least favorite room/stay. Again, grateful to have had another option versus a cancellation 5 days before we left Boston. But the unit was described as renovated...I could care less if it's renovated. I care if it's clean. And this one could certainly benefit from a deep clean.

Definitely would stay again. Had 2bdrm condo. The cleanliness was below average. AC filters needed cleaned, had to clean poop off one of the toilet seats before using. Floor needed mopped. Some of the dishes in the cabinet had food caked on it. Biggest complaint is that the ac units are on a timer and the longest setting is 4 hours. That is a horrible set up for those of us who have issues with the warmer air. Woke up every night because of getting too hot because the ac timed out. Stupid Stupid Stupid. I'd rather pay a little more and be comfortable.

Spectacular view of the ocean and mountains and landscape of the property

The room was nice but the shower, tub and AC need cleaning. Had dust/spider webs under the AC in the master room. The coffee and dining tables were dirty when we first arrived. The patio, glass doors and windows needs cleaning.

Overall decent property

Great views and overall grounds with very nice pool and other activities (tennis, shuffleboard, putting green, quality grills). Unit wasn't very clean but carpet seemed relatively new and beds were comfortable (actually slept 7). Kitchen was stocked with bare essentials. Beach was very shallow and somewhat rocky, but unit is within a short drive of very swimmable/snorkel beaches. Location otherwise very convenient to stores/restaurants.

Wonderful location

Perfect spot with easy beach access, fantastic views from our balcony! Easy access to other parts of Maui. Comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with kitchen - perfect for when we wanted to cook before heading out for the day. Great for families of all ages.

enjoyed our stay

Maui Sunset property is beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed our unit 415B and have rented it for next year. We had some problems with the air conditioner and a few other things that I hope they will fix.
