Weekend stay

The property is stunning. We particularly enjoyed the garden area and the pool. The house was also very beautiful and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed although some of the pans and trays in particular were quite old.The check-in process was very easy and Jim explained how everything works. The only slight negative was that some of the rooms have not been cleaned very well (e.g. there were quite a lot of cobwebs everywhere and dead bees in some of the rooms). Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect for family weekend!

Jim is the perfect host - great comms before, very helpful with the odd query when we arrived - best of all, made us feel so comfortable to use the house like our home. We had a full house of 4 generations for my dad’s 80th - facilities were perfect to keep everyone occupied - pool and gym were big hits!Thanks so much (my dad is talking about us all coming back for his 90th…)

Wonderful stay!

What a fabulous place to stay! We had the most relaxing holiday and there is so much to do at the house. The pool was exceptional as was the sauna. There is table football and a full sized snooker table which we enjoyed in the evenings after dinner. It was like having a fabulous hotel all to ourselves. The location is very quiet but close enough to town to just have a short drive for dinner. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful property needing some TLC

Fantastic space for a large group, lovely large kitchen and dining room, great snooker room and fab pool and sauna. We were four families and 22 people in total. We go away together every other new year so we are used to renting large properties. Oakhampton Park is a fabulous space for a large group, but was let down by lack of cleanliness and very intermittent heating and hot water.

Beautiful property

We he such a wonderful stay, it’s a beautiful house and layout with lots of sociable rooms to be able to all get together in. The gardens were so lovely, we were fortunate with the weather and it literally felt like we were not in the UK sitting by the pool. We would definitely stay again Kat

Fun, Family Time

Lovely big house for 25 of us. The dining room was perfect. Plenty of utensils and amenities in the kitchen area. All rooms and bathrooms were clean. Snooker room a hit. Swimming pool was fabulous. Kids had so much fun (so did adults ). Views and gardens lovely. Would recommend.

Spacious property with walled garden

We loved this rambling house set within beautiful gardens and all had a very happy and relaxed stay. Despite being a large group (25 at times) there was a great feeling of space and a quiet spot could always be found for reading or a quiet catch up. The grandchildren loved the pool and spent hours there each day. Older family members enjoyed evenings playing snooker. All spent much time in the garden - from breakfast in the sunshine through to wine in the evenings. A memorable stay and enjoyed by everyone - from 7 to 80!

A Brilliant Weekend

We all had a great long weekend celebrating a special birthday. There was plenty of space and different things to do to keep everyone happy. I would definitely recommend Oakhampton Park for a large gathering.

50th Anniversary

Booked the big house at Oakhampton park for our 50th wedding anniversary with the family, needed one big enough for 21 guests and it didn’t disappoint, bedroom’s a good size, plenty to do, seating in the garden for outdoor bbq and drinking, large pool which we all spent a lot of time in. We all had a great time, Jim (owner) was very helpful.

Amazing Venue for Family Gathering

We are so thrilled with our stay at Oakhampton Park and look forward to returning. The setting is idyllic, the house is spacious, pool is lovely and perfect for little ones, and the croquet lawn got more use than we imagined. We will remember this happy week for years to come.

Mums 60th birthday

The facilities were excellent, we loved the swimming pool and gardens. We were celebrating my mums birthday with our entire family and found the property to be spacious enough for all of us (25+ people). The house was a great place to celebrate, listen to music, eat, drink etc and we all had a great time. Jim was accommodating and easy to communicate with. At the end of our stay we all wished we’d stayed for a few more nights.

Weekend away

We booked a weekend break - a large group of 23 including children. The property is nice and rural, the nearest village about 5 minutes drive away. The grounds are great, the kids enjoyed exploring and playing sports on the lawns. The biggest hit though was the indoor pool, which we struggled to get them out of ! A fantastic size for 11 children to swim in. The facilities of the house are OK, a little bit dated but there was plenty of crockery, glasses etc for a large group. The configuration of the bedrooms was fine for a group of adults and children. In summary, we enjoyed our time at the house, and made lots of good memories for everyone to take home.

My daughters hen weekend

Sitting in the gardens enjoying a glass of wine. Swimming in the pool and having a splash around with our friends,getting together for a group meal what a wonderful place it was our only complaint we wanted to stay longer.

Family break over week-long half-term holiday

Excellent location. Beautiful house & grounds. Excellent swimming pool. Unfortunately, no sauna (as advertised) - broken down, awaiting part apparently. Poor gym equipment - no working controls on either cross-trainer or cycle, & some other equipment rather 'tired'.

Fabulous Country Weekend with Friends

Jim’s property was the perfect country escape - the house is spacious, with great character and made it very easy to entertain a large group! Jim was incredibly helpful, giving us tips on local chefs and activities. Highly recommend doing clay pigeon shooting while you’re here! Check in and out was easy, and Jim was always accessible via phone and the VRBO app. Only thing to note is it is BYO towels - Jim reminded us before we came down! Overall, highly recommend this property!

Excellent location - home from home experience

This property has everything you need and more - clearly a lot of thought has been put into this holiday home - the owner was only too helpful with any questions etc and was always there when needed - the pool sauna and gym room kept our teens occupied- Brilliant all round home from our 10 month old to Grandparents in their 80’s THANKYOU Jim for making our xmas

Mums 80th Birthday

We had the most amazing time in this beautiful house !!! There was something and somewhere for everyone our family aged from 85-20 …. 3 generations all together making wonderful memories … For us it was home from home with such an easy chilled out atmosphere pulse definitely recommend it !!!!

Fabulous house

Beautiful house and grounds. Everything catered for. Lovely surroundings, but no real need to leave the property. Ages from 4 to 99 all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I am Jim Elliott, I grew up around Oakhampton as my family has farmed the surrounding countryside for generations. As a veterinary surgeon i am animal friendly with regards to pets coming to the property.

The Elliott family has owned this property for generations. I restored it in the 1980's and my family of 3 children were brought up here, resulting in many parties being held for the multitude of family occasions. With them now grown up and gone i enjoy seeing the property continue to be occupied by happy family groups and celebration events.

This property sits in it's own grounds and is exclusively yours. There are many built in facilities, in particular the 50ft heated indoor pool which can occupy children happily especially considering the vagaries of the English weather. The property is decorated to a high standard and is a luxurious location for adults wishing for a comfortable break.
