Suburban retreat

We stayed 6 days but could have stayed 60. Everything you need from a property, and a host. The gardener and maid visit regularly and thier care and attention is evident. You have everything you need, with extra shops and restaurants around the corner. In the suburbs of Corfu Town (about 3km from the centre), but with easy access via Taxi or the hourly bus; close enough for convenience, far enough for quiet. (Except for the occasional beach-front night club noise.) There is very good air conditioning in the bedrooms, and plenty of fans and shutters downstairs keep that floor cool. Plenty of shade and trees, too. In August 2015 there was a lean, friendly mother cat with four baby kittens living in a cave on the hill above the BBQ. We named her "Mrs. Huggins" so if you see her or the kittens, please say 'hi' from us.

Fabulous cottage in Kasioppi

Wonderful location within the locale of an aparthotel so all the amenities of the hotel but very private cottage. So close to the beach which was a real bonus.

Wonderful homiday

We had a wonderful holiday at Katya’s villa. She was an excellent host looking after us and even picking us up from the supermarket! I would recommend a car for this villa if you want to visit larger sandier beaches than the 2 pebbles beaches in Corfu. Katya recommended a very reasonable car hire company who delivered and collected the car. Local shops and amenities great. Excellent night life for the young people staying with us. I would agree with previous reviewer that a book explaining a bit more about the house would be useful. Very small single person dishwasher which means if you want to cook in then you need to wash up. But wonderful helpful gardener and cleaner came every other day which was fantastic. Fresh well water provided every day also. Would definitely recommend but with a car. Boat trips are a must. Thank you Katya for your lovely villa!

Beautiful family holiday in Corfu.

We had a wonderful week in Corfu. We are a family of four. The house is old but very private, very clean and very charming with beautiful gardens. We loved having the pool. The views are amazing. Katia is a very warm and very helpful host. The house is close to old town of Kerkyra but you definitely need a car to get around.

Private villa? Not so much.

Firstly I want to say how lovely Katia is, we arrived very late on our check in day - 1.30am to be precise! Katia was very patient and showed us the villa and we were pleasantly surprised. However the property is listed as a 4 bed, 3 bathroom property which we paid for quite handsomely. When we arrived Katia asked one of our guests to choose a room as we had only paid for 3 rooms, as we were so tired we didn’t question her reasoning but the next day we realised that she had locked one of the bathrooms and bedrooms saying we had only paid for 3 rooms, when in fact the listing states that we are renting the entire villa. The villa is lovely, pool great and location is in a very residential area, a car is a must without doubt. Katia resides next door and also entered the villa on a daily basis whilst we were out, rearranging the garden furniture and also entering internally. This left us slightly annoyed as we purposely rented a private villa not a shared Airbnb, returning from evening meals to find someone had been in the property left us slightly uneasy. There are several cats, which if allowed, would enter the villa - not great if you not a fan of cats! Also quite an amount of ants in the kitchen, so make sure ALL food is in the fridge, including your bread. Katia did stick the fridge with milk and few essential items. The villa itself was clean, but could have done with a declutter of personal items - tastes to suit. Also a folder with some house rules would be more helpful that being told you can’t use the BBQ etc. All in all we wouldn’t return as we felt like we shared the property with the owner and privacy wasn’t respected at all.

First of all you should say that you were 1 couple +1 kid+1 guest so you have had 1 double bedroom for the couple, one double room for the one guest +1 single room for the little boy. You could have chosen the double room with ensuite bathroom on the second floor, but this seemed not suitable for an infant to stay alone on a different floor with a terrace all around not easy to supervise. That was the reason why the left out double room on the eves of the house was locked. If though as you say the owner shared the villa why didn'you ask her to unlock the room, take care of the ants in the kitchen, and how come that you have enjoyed so many bbqs if you were asked not to use it? Remember you were only told to extinguish the fire completely because of fire danger. quite normal with the heat. The staff had to clean all the mess left around the bbq anyway at your departure. And.in the fridge the few items were milk butter lots of drinking water, orange juice eggs ham cheese bread fruit what else would the owner should offer since nothing of all this is obligatory? And the handyman checking the electric board had to get in the house when he found too many appliances working at the same time and stopped the air conditioning working when nobody was in. Also the owner came in in fact when nobody was in the garden to water the flower pots as for all the other plants there is an automatic system. As for the cats they are not the house pets but visitor cats which have been spoiled and welcome by many previous guests, which indeed makes it harder for the staff to maintain the garden furniture spotless. Not easy to explain to a cat not to be around I think.. I very much regret that for things simple to fix on the spot, the guests had to be so disapointed by a villa which has so nice reviews in general .and the owner is so eager to please the guests. Really sorry.

Prachtig vrijstaand huis. Veel ruimte in en om het huis.

Wij zijn heel hartelijk ontvangen door Katia. Het is een prachtig huis en iedere dag wordt er buiten schoon gemaakt en om de dag binnen. Er zijn voldoende terrassen om gebruik van te maken. Het huis is redelijk schoon. Vaatwasser is niet te gebruiken wegens het kalkgehalte van het huis. Fijn dat er een wasmachine aanwezig is. Bij aankomst was de koelkast gevuld. Er staan veel ligbedden in de buurt van het zwembad. Fijn dat er bij het zwembad ook een douche is.

klein paradijsje

Authentieke mooie ruime villa in prachtige tuin met zwembad(je). Heel veel privacy. Wij waanden ons in een paradijs. Woning bleef ook goed koel zelfs zonder dat de airco constant aan bleef. Tijdens verblijf wordt de woning schoongehouden door een hulp. Katia is zeer hulpvaardig en een een uitstekende gastvrouw. Wij kwamen laat op de dag aan en ze had allemaal spullen voor het ontbijt voor de volgende dag ingekocht. Terrein is afgesloten met een elektrisch hek daardoor kunnen deuren en ramen de hele dag open blijven als je weg bent. Was wel hilarisch dat de stroom even was uitgevallen toen wij naar de bakker waren geweest. Dan kom je er dus ook niet in. Gelukkig waren onze kinderen wel op het terrein, die hebben de tuinman kunnen inschakelen. Vlak bij de stad en dan toch zo rustig!

Excellent location close to Corfu Town but with plenty of space

The villa is lovely, very spacious, with lots of flopping out places and with well kept gardens and pool. The location is excellent being close to Corfu Town - within walking distance (30 minutes) if it hadn't been so hot - yet in a quiet part if you ignore the planes which were regular and loud but didn't really intrude and stopped overnight. The bus service is very good as you could reach a number of different routes from the villa. There is also a supermarket within walking distance (10 minutes) and places to eat near the port (10 minutes walk) although the kitchen is well provided and we often ate at the villa. We found we didn't need to hire a car. The owner was extremely helpful, particularly when we arrived quite late, and was keen to ensure we had an enjoyable stay which we did.

Fantastic Holiday

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at Villa Katia The villa is fantastic ! we have a great relaxing holiday - Katia couldnt have done anymore to help us to have an enjoyable time - She brought fresh spa water everyday as well as oranges from the orchard. Relaxing by the pool was a joy, and evenings spent either having a BBQ at the villa or walking into the old town to visit some great restaurants The villa is a gem - I would highly recommend it and we will be returning Corfu is a beatiful town - quiet enough for me and my husband, but lively enough for 4 party going teenagers Thank You katia - we look forward to returning Debbie and Kieran PS - would star rate as 4 but struggling to get it to work

Rock star pad

Kita Villa was simply fantastic so many rooms on so many different levels, this is a big villa, fab pool, and very private, everything is here including Wi-Fi. Good supermarkerts are just around the corner and there cheap, also had maid service during the week, it doesn't get much better than this. Corfu is in walking distant, or pay 5 euros for a taxi, buses are great for getting around and above all it's safe. Will be back.

Wonderful holiday

So many positives which I will try to capture to provide a fair and useful insight into this property and its owner, Katia. One of the most memorable moments that will stay with me forever is the vision of blooming beauty that greets you as you drive up to the villa - truly picturesque and certainly a 'wow' moment. The villa is well-equipped, spacious and clean and its sprawling layout adds such character - a unique villa full of nooks and crannies and interesting lines. The views of the coast and surrounding gardens from one of the many balconies are beautiful and the pool is the perfect oasis (it's about 5 feet deep from end to end and thus great for swimming and games though safer as no diving taking place!). In relation to Katia, we could not ask more from our host; from our enthusiastic greeting in the early hours and throughout our stay Katia is determined to ensure all guests have everything they need. She had made us a simple but delicious meal and left wine which was so very much appreciated. Her extensive experience in the hospitality industry is clearly evident and the tour of Corfu Town was informative and thoroughly enjoyable. As with everything in life there is always a compromise to be had and these were ours: showering facilities are limited (hot water, power and positioning of shower head); and mosquitos - lots of, in abundance, due to the lush gardens leading to some very uncomfortable moments which did mar an otherwise perfect holiday. In terms of location, it is isolated but the upside is that it is very quiet. There is a well stocked mini market within 10 mins walk and several bars, cafes and restaurants with views of the shoreline about 20 mins walk away. Our favourite is Mylos cafebar and restaurant where the Greek food was delicious and the customer service exemplary - after our first visit our table would be laid up waiting for us and we felt like VIPs! Beef stifado has melt in the mouth beef and the kebabs are yummy - certainly not like the greasy ones in the UK! Taxis are 10 Euros for local journeys which makes a trip to the supermarket and Corfu Town quite expensive and not least because we needed two taxis as there are six of us. We would highly recommend Tasos as his English, sense of humour and local knowledge makes him a great impromptu tour guide! Hopefully this review reflects a top quality property and its delightful owner, Katia and the fabulous holiday we all had.

corfu holiday

Villa Katia is a beautiful period house which is very well maintained and eclectically furnished. It is set in its own extensive gardens but feels very secure and private. The villa is well situated for touring Corfu Island and we feel a car is essential if exploring is what you want to do, however the driving on the island takes some getting used to. The owner, Katia, offers a guided tour around old Corfu Town which is extremely interesting and she, and her staff, looked after us very well. The pool at the villa is lovely and catering facilities are more than adequate, including a lovely BBQ in the patio area. Staying at Villa Katia enabled us to explore the various beaches around the island and we particularly liked Kalami, Glyfada and swimming amongst the fish at Paleokastritsa (make sure you have a mask and snorkel to fully enjoy it!). Our experiences eating out were varied, but we had a lovely meal in a taverna overlooking the sea on the road between Corfu Town and Kalami where the local food was great and good value for money. We found Corfiots were all very friendly.

Two years that we come in Villa Katia, two years that it's perfect for anyone who want to have a great trip in Ionian Islands area. A great villa with every service you need to spend your days with a lot of pleasure! Katia is really nice, she's looking for anything to make you feel better. Fantastic villa and host

Stayed here with my family and from the moment Katia collected us to take us to the villa katia I knew we were in for a wonderful time. The villa, pool and garden were fantastic. Not only a beautiful and peaceful location, but the villa and grounds were immaculate. The villa was spotless and a very nice young lady came in regularly to ensure that this cleanliness was maintained throughout our stay. There was everything there to ensure a great holiday from clean towels to a wonderful BBQ. The garden and pool area were checked and cleaned on a daily basis. The location was just far enough outside of corfu Town but not too far to walk take the bus or taxi. The owner, Katia, is a wonderful lady very kind, thoughtful and helpful, whilst always being considerate of our privacy. Great Hostess, great Villa, Great Taxi service ( Tasso and father) and beautiful island can't wait to go back thank you.
