The place was as advertised, and I have no complaints about the location or dwelling. My complaints revolve around rules and the contact of the rental company involved.
1. this place is listed as pet friendly, but nearly all of the rules regarding pets are just about the most restrictive and least friendly I can imagine. No owner of pets that I know, whom I told about these rules, think they make sense. Pet Friendly is a poor representation of the guidelines, and should instead be described as Pet Tolerant.
2. Communication with the rental company is extreme. They constantly bombard you with texts, emails, rental agreements that you must sign, all about rules and regulations. This is an obnoxious way to handle a vacation. I have used vrbo and other rental services for years, and this is the first time ever that I have been inundated with rules, agreements, and constant texts and emails. The idea, I assume, is to dissuade and discourage young people who want to throw house parties at the rental property from ever being there, and to frighten them of legal action should anything bad happen. But all this does is deter people who do not fall into that category from ever wanting to rent from you again. I just wanted a nice getaway for a couple of days, and though I did get it, I shouldn't have a constant fear that something I do might draw the ire of rental/property management company. Most vrbo/other rental places dont do this.
