The owner was out of the country and was probably unaware of the following issues. I checked in on September 2025. The house is beautiful but I had issues with the cleaning company. I traveled over 3,500 miles and then an additional 7 hours from the airport to Torquay. When I arrived in Torquay I had to make an express order from a local store in order to get a simple cup of tea. There was no welcome package. A simple bottle of milk and perhaps a couple of tea bags would have been appreciated. The house was nice but the cleanliness was subpar. The information package stated that you have to leave the place as you found it, but I found the appliances and cookware to be very dirty and had to clean before I could use these items. I left this place better than I found it, yet the cleaner informed the owner that I left it filthy! This was very upsetting to me as this was untrue. I was planning on rebooking for next year but obviously will not now. I am also a business owner and I feel this cleaner will lose the owner a lot of business. She was also rude. The only issues other than the cleanliness was that it rained almost the whole week, there were no umbrellas or canopies outside so I had to search for a waterproof mat being that shoes had to be removed however everyone's shoes got soaked, so I moved the mat inside the door which caused a pile up in the sitting area as we also had to take in about 20 outdoor cushions. A waterproof outdoor box would have helped. Thank you.
