The house was lovely and we had a great stay. Burghead is a little quiet for a group of guys playing golf but everyone we met was very friendly.

I love the fact there is a tiled basement that leads to the garden. It has a sink in the basement area and also an outside hose which i feel is perfect for cleaning the dig and keeping them away from the main house...perfect!

Luxuriously cosy

Millie is perfect for a relaxing and comfortable break. We loved feeling luxuriously cosy while the wind whistled and the waves crashed!

fabulous stay!

I spotted this property when we visited Burghead the last time, it looked fab from the outside ..wow it was amazing. There was 8 of us staying and were worried we would be under each others feet but plenty room. It's a great central location to visit the other little towns along the coast. Going to book again!

A great size for a large family gathering. Good sized bedrooms and lounge areas perfect for relaxation and or fun and games. Great bathroom facilities and fabulous garden. The weather was stormy but mainly dry which led to fantastic waves and evening skies. Loved it❤️

40th Birthday Celebration!

A special five day holiday to Burghead reminiscing down memory lane. The cottage belonged to my Great Parents George & Mary Phillips back in the 1950’s. Beautifully restored home & garden with lots of room & a view that I loved waking up to every morning! A seaside cottage that we treasured and will definitely be booking again next summer, this time for longer so we can explore more of Morays beautiful coastline..

Big birthday treat

second time we have stayed at The Millie, it's a fabulous place to stay. The accommodation is great, it's on 3 levels so plenty of room for everybody without get under feet. The view from the side of the house is stunning...we got great photos and videos of the dolphins and orcas...so blessed! We also ate at The Bothy for my birthday...it's only a few hundred yards away. The staff there are amazing. High recommended.

Family Holiday

Positives Comfortable property with good amount of space inside and out for a large group Most beds very good apart from downstairs double room Easy access to beach Good sized garden House clean but bins had not been put out by previous occupants and were full Children enjoyed novelty of watching tv in the bath Negatives Vrbo listing not accurate - there are beds for 8. Also does not mention that house on 3 levels with very steep stairs up and down - could be a problem for those with restricted mobility or young children Dogs are welcome but have to be kept in basement. This is away from living area but on same level as 2 of the bedrooms. Difficult to understand why. Only 1 shower for 8 people. No toilet on floor upstairs with 2 bedrooms Had to buy tin opener and replacement cafetière Rule book was off putting with its “penalties” including if you stole from the property- the owners may have had bad experience but it left a bad taste for others

Traumhaus in Traumlage

Was für ein schönes Haus und das in einer Traumlage! Ich war noch nie in einem so schön eingerichtetem Ferienhaus und die Lage ist unbeschreiblich. Es liegt direkt bei dem piktischem Fort und dem Aussichtspunkt auf das Meer, wo man Robben, mit Glück Delphine oder sogar Waale sehen kann. Wir waren zu sechst in dem Haus für eine ganze Woche. Da das Haus so gross ist, hatte jeder sein Rückzugsort, was bei drei Teenagern sehr wichtig ist. Wir planen schon, wann wir wieder kommen können.

Great place for a seaside break

Surprisingly spacious rooms, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Great facilities including sauna and jacuzzi bath. Good WiFi speeds. No problem with parking several cars outside on the wide street. Several good options for eating and drinking in Burghead including the Bothy Bistro (same management) and the very excellent Harbour Inn, where you'll meet plently of friendly locals.

Just back from a week in this gorgeous property we all had a brilliant time, cottage has all you could ask for and more, communication with the owners was great - to wake up to the views every morning was just fab - cannot wait to return

Expectations were high - they were exceeded!

The house is even bigger and better than it looks online. There is a cheerful luxury vibe to the decor, and it’s very well-equipped, too. Brilliant jacuzzi bath, sauna and deck were highlights for us, and proximity to stunning Burghead bay beach. Adults, kids and teens all very happy!

Peaceful family getaway

Excellent family accommodation! Very stylish home from home in a wonderful location. Extremely efficient underfloor heating too. Set over 3 levels, with main living area (including sauna) on the middle floor. Extra large dining table in the kitchen makes for some fabulous family time together. Great outdoor space for when the weather is warm enough. The garden can be accessed from the lower level or the kitchen. Close to the beach and forest area of Burghead- which has a few local small shops - for some lovely walks. The only slight negative would be that, if you have very small children or frailer elderly relatives, the steep narrow stairs could be problematic.

What a magical place!

We had a truly fantastic time at The Millie & the kids also had a great time. The house is decorated beautifully & perfectly equipped for two families visiting. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great but that didn’t stop from having a fantastic time. The house is truly beautiful with gorgeous view of the ocean. Thank you so much Ruth for a fantastic stay! We will be back

Burghead weekend

Just loved our stay in this delightful house. The views… the cosy lounge … the breakout area at the top of the stairs for the teenager. The teenager also loved the bath with the telly . The property has steep stairs … so may not be suitable for everyone. Can’t wait to go back !

We had a great Xmas meeting up with family nearby for outdoor walks. during

Our 2nd stay at The Millie. Both stays perfect. It's a cosy, clean, well equipped, nicely decorated house with plenty room to chill out even at full occupancy. Burghead is a great place to stay. Love the Pictish history and beach walks.

Beautiful Burghead

The property is lovely, so stylish and easy to manage and keep tidy. It is however not easy for people with any limitation in mobility as the stairs to any of the bedrooms are difficult. my daughter is brain damaged and uses a wheelchair some of the time, she can manage some steps and stairs but the one's in the house defeated her, she had to descend on her bottom and went outside and round to the front door in the morning!! it didn't detract much though from a wonderful reunion with our beloved Moray coast and a sighting of the Northern Lights was a huge bonus, you could add that to your advertisement. May many thanks.

Fabulous and luxurious but steep stairs!

Excellent house but the description does not make it clear how steep the 2 flights of stairs are, this would be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. Great communication from Ruth over a few minor issues. Extremely comfortable and luxurious property.

Holiday at the Millie Burghead

We had a fantastic family holiday in Burghead. The Millie was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The Co-op was a 5 minute walk away and very useful to have. We were blessed with bright and sunny weather and spent a lot of time walking our two little dogs on Burghead beach. We also visited Roseisle Sandy beach on more than one occasion where our youngest sun made sandcastles and our eldest paddle boarded (we had brought our own). We ate at the Bootleggers Bothy in Hopeman three evenings running as the food was so good (restaurant standard) and we all loved it there. We didn’t get to visit the Bothy Bistro in Burghead but heard this was equally as good. We also loved the Captains Table in Findhorn. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful and nowhere was too busy. Having been here, I don’t think we’ll go back to Cornwall!

The Bothy - The local coffee shop serves fantastic Brodies Coffee and fancy pieces (home bakes). The Harbour Inn which is about 100m away serves great steaks and home-made chips. The dolphins are often seen in the bay or at the Back Shore. Burghead has something to offer everyone.
