200年以上前に建てられたこの家は、村の端にあるポートリーのかつての穀物工場の主要な部分です。 ブナの木が並ぶ火傷の上では、海岸近くにあり、ラーセイ島の素晴らしい景色を眺めることができます。 ポートリーは、スカイのすべてのアトラクションの理想的な拠点です。セーリング;クライミング;野生動物とバードウォッチング。 同様に、家から丘や村へまっすぐ歩いて素敵な食事を楽しめます。 宿泊施設は柔軟で、1階に2つの寝室（1つのバスルーム）、建物の上部にスタジオ（トイレあり）があります。 家はらせん階段でリンクされた3階建てです。 中層階は、オリジナルの石臼が置かれた非常に魅力的なオープンプランのリビングエリアです。 最近、環境にやさしい暖房と換気システムの設置を含め、完全に改装および改装されました。 建物の横に路外駐車場があります。

We had a great time staying at Finlay’s place in Portree. The house is well decorated with a lot of character. You will find everything you need for a short stay. The kitchen and all the rooms are spacious. But the best part is that Finlay is the most generous host you will have.

This was my favorite stay of our vacation in Scotland! The home was full of charm, very clean and comfortable, and well stocked with both basic amenities and extras. The host was very kind and helpful. The location served as a perfect base for our exploration of Isle of Skye, and Portree itself was such a lovely little town. If we ever have the opportunity to visit the area again, I hope to be able to stay a second time.

The house had everything we needed for our week long stay, with basic supplies for cooking and clothes washing. The hosts also provided a food hamper and flowers to greet us. It was very comfortable, clean and well positioned - very homely. The hosts were very responsive and prompt to act when we had an issue. Highly recommended by us.

Our stay here was fantastic. A clean place, with a few supplies such as butter and jam and bread which made our first day easy. The location cannot be beat. It was very quiet yet we could walk to town in 5-10 minutes. Walk in the other direction and there were stunning views of the harbor and rural scenery. The three levels afforded privacy and also a central area to congregate. It was the best accommodation of our three week adventure through Scotland.

The Mill was an absolutely delightful place. It's much larger than it looks in the photos. Incredibly comfortable and a great launch point for all the beautiful walks around Skye. It's also only a 10 minute walk into the heart of Portree.Finlay was also an incredibly friendly host and left us a lovely wee welcome basket with cakes, shortbread and some basics that we needed. If we come back to Skye we will likely try to book this place again, thank you Finlay!

Marvellous location

Stunning location near centre Portree. . Tasteful decor of good quality.The owner was very helpful. Various groceries were present upon arrival. It really couldn't have been better.

A great place !

We really loved the house. Finlay is very kind and the house is very spacy. We really liked the location since it is close to the restaurants and bars but it is still very quiet.

Great location - in the middle of Portree yet still quiet

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The house is just perfect. Warming, spacious and quiet and still only a view yards towards the centre of Portree. The landlord has welcomed us very friendly and kept in touch throughout the stay for any questions we may have.

Wonderful house

We always travel in a large group and the mill is just right for that. The first floor is a large open space with kitchen, dining area and living room. We have stayed at the mill several times and it has been always great.

Oh my goodness, what a treat the Old Mill is!The whole property is beautifully appointed and maintained, clean and very comfortable. The wonderful hosts left us an amazing basket of fruits, bread, cakes and biscuits, jams and other delicious treats...as well as having a cupboard well stocked with basic goods and condiments.The Mill is a 5 minute stroll to most of Portree's restaurants/pubs and also to the co op, pharmacy, bakery etc...with a stunning view over the bay.If you can handle a spiral staircase, you will not be disappointed with this glorious little slice of history. We loved every minute there and would not hesitate to book it again.

Exceptional!

We had a fantastic holiday at the Old Mill. The accommodation really is exceptional, topped off by amazing views of the bay and minutes walk to restaurants and shops. This is our 5th family holiday in Skye and our stay at the Old Mill made it the best yet. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here and will definitely come back again. Thank you!

Lovely place with lots of character

The property was very clean and very well appointed. It had lots of character, plenty of space and was in a great location for easy walking access to Portree. Finlay was a great host with attention to detail, very responsive and helpful. We would highly recommend this property and would certainly go back.

Perfect place to stay on Skye!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is in a perfect location for exploring Skye. On a quiet street with a beautiful view yet a short walk into town with a nice trail also a short walk away. The house was one of the most tastefully decorated I’ve ever rented, and the host was helpful and communicative. House was also very well stocked. I recommend this rental most highly.

I am a retired teacher living in Edinburgh. My widowed mother lives in Portree and we find the mill a lovely base for family visits or just a break.

Lucy and I have family and friends who live in and around Portree and we stay regularly in the mill. It has become in part a family home for us and as well as a conservation project.
We have owned Number 1, the Old Mill (an Sean Mhuilean) since 2003. We did a lot of work in 2005 changing the layout of the middle floor and installing central heating. In 2012 we carried out further extensive work with 2 new bathrooms on the ground floor and installed an air source heat pump system complemented by heat recovery ventilation. In the long term we will restore the lime mortar pointing on the outside of the building.

この宿泊施設の特徴

The mill and the neighbouring cottages were build in 1805. They appear to be the first buildings erected on Scorrybreac Road and were part of an ambitious programme of building by James Gillespie Graham who was Lord MacDonald’s Superintendent of Works. James Gillespie Graham went on to have a very successful career particularly in Edinburgh. There he was responsible for the lay out of much of the later New Town.
