Gemütliches haus

Stefanos ist der Vermittler, Mark, der Eigentümer und Vermieter, hat uns gemeinsam mit seiner Familie vom Hafen abgeholt. Sehr freundlich und jederzeit erreichbar. Am Weg zum Haus haben sie noch einen Stopp bei einem Supermarkt gemacht, damit wir das nötigste für das Frühstück haben. Das Haus liegt etwas außerhalb von Skiathos, 100 Meter oberhalb der Hauptstraße und des Strandes. Zu Fuß ist man in 20 Minuten im Stadtzentrum. Busstation in der Nähe, kleiner Supermarkt cirka 400 Meter. Das Haus hat eine große Terrasse mit schönem Blick aufs Meer. Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, große Wohnküche. Genügend WCs und Bäder. Einziges Manko sind die 3 Schlafzimmer im Untergeschoss - die Fenster haben kaum einen Blick nach außen, eines hat nur ein Kellerfenster. Sehr eigenartig gebaut. Nachdem dem ersten Schock haben wir es trotzdem genossen. Einmal haben wir auch gegrillt. Manchmal ist der Strom ausgefallen, ein kurzer Schreck. Die Insel Skiathos ist eine touristisch erschlossene aber wunderschöne Insel. Viele Griechen machen hier zurecht Urlaub. Unsere Empfehlung ist, andere Strände entlang der Hauptstraße zu besuchen - wunderschöne Buchten und Sandstrände, zB den Eleni Beach.

Beautiful villa/house. Well equipped and managed

We have had an amazing 2 weeks on the beautiful island of Skiathos. What has made it all the more enjoyable for us (family of 4 - children of 12 & 19 yrs) is that we have been able to call this villa home and as per a previous reviewer that is clearly what it is - a well loved family home. It’s so well equipped with everything you need - we have had a good few family evenings utilising the barbecue and admiring the stunning view from the huge terrace. Good to have been able to pop to the nearby pool but who really needs that when the sea and relatively quiet beach is just a stone’s throw away? Lovely! A huge thank you to Anargyros (the owner who met us at the airport), Stefanos (who arranged a great deal on car hire for and included us in a Greeek evening) and the rest of the team behind making this a truly special place for a holiday.

lovely villa, that is quite obviously someone's cherished home

lovely terrace with great views. Every room air conditioned. Met at the airport by the owner, who then arranged a taxi for us back to the property. The house was decorated and equipped to a high standard. Gardner and maid service every 3 days. Greek people are some warm and friendly. i think the photos don't do it justice - i shall send ours to the owner in the hope they help others see the beauty of it. a previous review mentioned a big hotel overlooking it - not only is this a small hotel, but it is set off to one side and def does not impose on the property or on your privacy. In fact the advantage of the hotel is that they have a lovely pool/bar which you are welcome to use and is only 5 mins walk away. the sea is also only a 5 min walk, and although a narrow shingly beach, it is still nice, and of course the sea is amazing. A great restaurant only 5 mins walk away and the local supermarket only 15 min walk. About 25 min walk into town, however the bus stop is right outside the property if needed - we used it a lot.

Great location, great views, great family holiday

We had a really wonderful holiday and throughly enjoyed our stay. Stefanos was really helpful throughout the booking and the entire holiday; from collecting us at the airport to ensuring that we had everything that we needed throughout our stay. The villa was comfortable, clean and had everything that we needed. The children loved the art murals on their bedroom walls! The outdoor area was perfect for our three children to play on as well as for us to relax. We enjoyed family breakfasts on the terrace every morning with beautiful views over the sea! Bliss! The location was perfect. The villa is situation off the road so is lovely and quiet, but yet is convient to get to the town centre via the beach or road and with local shops within walking distance. (We stayed in the peak summer holidays) We hired a car to explore the island and there is a large driveway with electric gates. We would recommend it to friends and family.

A great view but no peace or privacy

I was looking for somewhere peaceful and private to recover from a major operation. The "owner" on the web site (Stefanos Nachmias who was not, in fact, the owner) assured me in response to emails that it was both. As soon as we arrived we realised that his assurances were untrue. First, the terrace was almost completely overlooked by a 3 floor hotel (cleverly not shown in the photos) about 200m away behind and to the left of the villa looking from the sea. Second, the traffic noise from the main island road running (unseen) about 200m below the villa made it impossible to enjoy any peace during the day and well into the evening. The villa has a single huge barn-like room upstairs with reasonably well-equipped kitchen, dining and sitting areas. However, there were no reading lights*, villa instructions (such as how to get hot water on the days the sun doesn't shine), or anything to indicate that it had ever been let. Downstairs, the "main bedroom" is a disaster. A small room with just a single small window above the bed (which was, however, very comfortable). The other 2 bedroom are even smaller but with windows overlooking the hotel. There were no bedside lights in any of the bedrooms*. The en suite bathroom to the main bedroom (obviously a later add-on) was well finished but had a a large jacuzzi bath that took an hour to fill! The other small bathroom had a medium length bath but the plug* was missing. Until I turned the washing machine through 90 degrees it was almost impossible to use, as was the toilet. The terrace and its view were the best part of this villa provided you don't mind traffic noise and being overlooked by a 3 storey hotel (The Irida). *The real owner, a very nice man, did provide a bath plug and 2 bedside lights when requested.

I stared building the villa about 8-9 years ago. At first it was just one simple house but over the years I built it to what it is today.

Staying in my villa has many advantages. Not only it is has all the characteristics of a new and modern house, the location is unique. It is very close to Skiathos town and all the amenities there and at the same time you have Megali Ammos beach right at your feet (100 meters away). Also mini markets, liquer stores and car rentals can be found in very close proximity (a few minutes walk)
