Wonderful place to stay--what a find!!
This cottage is a gem!! The property is very well kept, clean and comfortable. It is very spacious with lots of room for being together, as well as spaces to get away by oneself. There is a wonderful balcony off the sitting room that is shady with a comfortable outdoor sofa and chairs to enjoy, which we did. The owner has added many personal touches to add to your comfort--extremely comfortable seating in the sitting room; bed and bathroom linens very large and of good quality. It was VERY hot during our first few days in Carcassonne, and the air conditioner did an amazing job of cooling the entire cottage. The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances and dishes to cook meals; the refrigerator very spacious; dishwasher works well. Beds were very comfortable; bed and bathroom linens clean and very good quality and size.
The location of the property is great--a very pleasant 10 minute walk from the train station and the business/shopping section of town. Many very nice restaurants are within a short walking distance. Grocery stores relatively close by. Located across the road from the Canal du Midi, it was so fun to watch all of the canal boats make their way up and down the canal. The cottage is located on a road linking you to major roads out of town, if you drive to Carcassonne, and there is very convenient parking along side the cottage or across the road. Night noise from passing traffic very minimal. We slept well. Just a wonderful experience staying here.
