Lovely Villa

Just returned from a fabulous week in this lovely villa. Very well equipped and clean. Safe gated pool area - we had 4 adults, 1 teenager and 4 children ranging in age from 16 months to 6 years - all of whom enjoyed the pool. The view at breakfast from the roof top patio was particularly pleasant. There was lots to do in the area and exploring was helped by the very useful guide provided by the owners - thanks Richard and Mary.

Excellent!

We had two wonderful weeks at the villa. Plenty of space for everyone to relax. Quiet area, nice garden and lovely pool. Private locked parking. Aircondition worked perfectly in the whole house, even during a heat wave. Good internet connection, also for teenagers :) Highly recomended, we would love to come back!

Super Vila

We stayed at Vila Suro for 2 weeks in June 2011. We were 4 persons - two of them teenagers. The description of the Villa and all details got by the owner were a 100% correct and very detailled. Let's say - perfect. The pool is great and has a nice view to the ocean, even when it's night. Supermarkets are nearby. I can recommend this property for families and also for parents who are on vacation with teenagers. Barcelona is a one day trip away. No problem to go there by car, but be careful with your wallets. It was a perfect stay at an excellent house with nice pool area.

Thankyou for your kind review Markus. We try our best to ensure our holiday home offers good value to families and holiday makers and it is very much appreciated by us to know our efforts have been noticed by you and your family. We very much appreciate the house, location and area and are very pleased that clearly you experienced the same. Just to clarify one point Barcelona is between 1.5 to 2 hours drive away or the train can be caught from Caldes de Malavella and yes Las Ramblas area is notorious for pickpockets. Glad you all enjoyed your vacation and maybe we may see you again!. Kind Regards, Richard and Mary

Family holiday

We arrived at the villa after spending a couple of hot busy days sightseeing in Barcelona. We called into the local supermarket (loads of them close by) we then found the villa easily and soon settled in. Loads of space for our family of 6 ( kids 18 years - 12 years. )The pool is amazing and there are so many places to sit in the sun or the shade. The villa has everything you need in the kitchen. We visited some amazing places Tossa de mar and paddle boarded at Cala S’Alguer. The kids loved the water park and according to my boys the best pizza ever at Palamós Pizzeria L’Arcobaleno di Francesca. You do need a car but if you like somewhere away from the crowds this is the perfect place to base yourselves. So much more to explore, we will definitely be back.

Hello Clare and family. We are absolutely delighted you all really enjoyed your holiday at the villa and appreciated what is on offer in the area. You were perfect guests and would be most welcome to return should you ever wish to do so. I apologise for the glitch in the star ratings which of course are not correct. I of course gave 5 stars in all categories and cannot understand how that was not reflected on the platform. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer. With best regards Richard

A great villa in a beautiful spot

Villa Suro was a great place to stay for an extended family ranging in age from 14 to 75. The layout of the villa is a little quirky with most of the bedrooms on the ground floor but this means you get great views across to the coast from upstairs and cool rooms for sleeping in (we were there in August and didn’t miss a/c in bedrooms as they are naturally cool and have electric fans). The kitchen is well-equipped, the pool area is fantastic and there are many different places to sit / eat / play cards and games. Calonge itself is a small and interesting town with a pretty square and good Thursday market easily walkable for most. A car is needed to get to the beach which is large - loads of space - beautiful clean sand and safe for swimming. There are also some lovely coves further along the coast. Richard the owner and Janice the house manager were both very responsive to our texts / queries with a couple of minor things being sorted straight away, we couldn’t have asked for more!

Lovely property

We so enjoyed our time in this villa - the whole layout worked really well for our mixture of adults and children - we could even put the early riser and Mum upstairs and the rest downstairs! Well equipped kitchen. Very comfy sofas. Great outside spaces. Very clean. Only improvements could be two pillows on the beds and a bottle of water in the fridge on arrival just to see you through until you can get to the shops. The pool was exactly the right size and super clean. Good number of umbrellas for shade and the sail type thing over the outside table. Good number of lunge chairs. Air conditioning worked well. We loved the village of Calonge with the old castle and buildings. Friendly kind shopkeepers and restauranteurs. Good information about places to visit and beaches. We loved it all.

From our perspective it is hugely satisfying to get such positive feedback as we try hard to make our property as good as it can be for large families to enjoy. You were perfect guests who would be most welcome should you ever choose to return to this wonderful area. I take on board your suggestions re water and pillows and have instructed our manager accordingly. Hope you all enjoy the rest if your summer! Best regards Richard

Very nice spanish style villa!

We loved our summer vacation in the Villa Suro. From the house, you can reach wide sand-beaches but as well small coves with rocks, ideal for snorkeling and to admire underwater life. In the afternoon we enjoyed the pool that is surrounded by a beautiful garden with palmtrees and other exotic plants from the region. The house has all you need in everyday life. The bedrooms are of good size and we were surprised how the house keeps the cool under the warm Spanish sun. We basically switched on the air-conditioning for just a couple of hours only on some very hot days. The owners installed an alarm surveillance by a remote center which makes you feel safe. The contact with Richard was very friendly and pleasant and we felt well taken care of. We felt like at home and would surely consider Villa Suro again for a future holiday.
