We are so glad you had a great time and enjoyed the cabin Julie! Yes the incline in back can limit the running around area for kids, but it does make for a great view and privacy from surrounding cabins.

I'm sorry to hear things were not up to your expectations. The front porch swing will be getting a new cushion as it is getting worn and I will definitely discuss some of the cleanliness issues with my cleaner. That is not the impression we would ever like to leave. Most guests are very happy with the cleanliness of the cabin. As for the ice maker, we do not have that listed as an amenity on the listing because it was disabled. The master bed does have nice sheets and a comforter but not an extra blanket made on the bed. We do also have many extra blankets at the cabin. We do have pest control that is sprayed, regularly but being in the mountains, the occasional spider is common.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. We are sorry to hear your experience was not as great as expected. Most of our guests do have a positive experience and we strive to always provide a cozy clean cabin that our guests can escape to. Since it is a vacation rental, and can sit vacant for periods of time, we do have a plug in automatic air freshener that we update with seasonal scents like pine tree, pumpkin etc. Most of our guests love them so we are sorry to hear that was not the case for your group. It is true we do not allow pets, so I'm not sure what the musty smell was you are referring to. There was a lot of rain that week and therefore humidity, that might have contributed to the smell you referenced but we haven't received that feedback before and have not noticed this ourselves. Thank you for the feedback on the kitchen items. We have done some updates since your stay. We had a 2 month rental prior to your arrival so some things had gotten worn and we were not made aware before your stay. We don't ask guests to do all the cleaning. We just ask that they load the dishwasher and start it before their departure so our cleaners can unload the dishes when they arrive. We also just ask guests to place used linens and towels on the floor before they depart. Our cleaners do everything else. We are sorry you felt it odd that we asked you to let us know if you were planning to leave earlier than the standard departure time. If our cleaners have a very tight schedule for the following day, they ask us to notify them if any of the guests end up leaving earlier so they can get an early start. It is not abnormal for guests to get up and leave early. That happens all the time and we have been asked to just let the owners know the same thing in airbns we have stayed in. We in no way are trying to remove guests earlier than normal, just asking you to let us know if you do end up leaving early so we can let our cleaners know.
