My parents, Mr and Mrs Y S Panwar will be your hosts.

My father is a retired local with decades of experience in the tourism industry. He can advise you on just about everything in regards to tourism in Uttarakhand including the best places to visit not just in Rishikesh but in the Himalayan region. Some of the subjects close to his heart are meditation, spirituality and yoga. If you intend to visit any ashrams then he is best placed to give any directions. He enjoys meeting new people and a healthy conversation on a variety of topics every now and then, if someone is up for it.

My mum is a home bird and can show you the nearby places for walks along the Gangaji or any daily need grocery that you may want to buy. If you are an early morning person and would like to join her for an early morning trip to a wonderful chanting session at Kailash Ashram temple (5 minutes walk) then you are more than welcome.

Between the two they are the perfect hosts with no intrusion to your privacy.

The facilities are good, spacious, clean and functional, ranging from a basic kitchen with refrigerator and filtered water to ensuite bathroom, living area with TV, Wi-fi and comfortable beds with ceiling fans to cool off. It is in Muni Ki Reti town, in Rishikesh which is a semi-residential area with nearby shops and transport and it's 5 minutes walk from the Ganga. The particular part of the Ganga it is near is a beautiful, quiet area where the river rapids flow, ceremonies are held and people promenade along wide paved pathways. Ram Jhula is approximately 20 minutes easy walk from there and Laxman Jhula is 30 to 40. However, a rickshaw will take you there in 5-10 minutes. So you get the best of both worlds here; a quieter, more authentic, less touristy spot and access to the more busy hubs of Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula and their restaurants, cafes and activities.
